< Job 23 >

1 And Job answers and says:
Hoe ty natoi’ Iobe:
2 “Also—today my complaint [is] bitter, My hand has been heavy because of my sighing.
Mafaitse ty toreoko henaneo, taña-miletraletra ty amy hatreontreoko.
3 O that I had known—and I find Him, I come to His seat,
Ehe te napotako ty hahatreavako Aze, hiheovako mb’am-piambesa’e mb’eo.
4 I arrange the cause before Him, And fill my mouth [with] arguments.
Halahako aolo’e eo ty amako, vaho hatsafeko veroke ty vavako.
5 I know the words He answers me, And understand what He says to me.
Ho azoko ty entañe havale’e ahy, vaho ho rendreko ty hitsara’e.
6 Does He strive with me in the abundance of power? No! Surely He puts [it] in me.
Hatreatré’e ami’ty hara’elahin-kaozara’e hao? Aiy, f’ie ho haoñe’e.
7 There the upright reason with Him, And I escape from mine who is judging—forever.
Mete hilahatse ama’e ty vañoñe, hamotsorañe ahy nainai’e amy Mpizakakoy.
8 Behold, I go forward—and He is not, And backward—and I do not perceive Him.
Hehe te mionjon-draho, f’ie tsy eo, midisa-voly, fa tsy isako,
9 [To] the left in His working—and I do not see, He is covered [on] the right, and I do not behold.
ie mitoloñ’an-kavia, tsy treako, ie mitolike mb’àn-kavana, tsy rendreko.
10 For He has known the way with me, He has tried me—I go forth as gold.
Fe arofoana’e ty lala fombàko, ie fa nitsoeha’e le hiboake hoe volamena.
11 My foot has laid hold on His step, I have kept His way, and do not turn aside,
Nahafitinoñe i lia’ey ty tomboko, nifaharako i lala’ey vaho tsy nitsile.
12 The command of His lips, and I do not depart. I have laid up above my allotted portion The sayings of His mouth.
Tsy nisitahako o nafèm-pivimbi’eo; nahajako o tsaram-palie’eo mandikoatse ty anjara rimako.
13 And He [is] in one [mind], And who turns Him back? And His soul has desired—and He does [it].
F’ie tsy roe tsy telo, ia ty hampitolik’ aze? anoe’e iaby ze satrin’arofo’e.
14 For He completes my portion, And many such things [are] with Him.
Ie ro mañeneke o atolots’ ahikoo: maro ty fanoe’e hoe Izay.
15 Therefore, I am troubled at His presence, I consider, and am afraid of Him.
Aa le hirevendreven-draho añ’atrefa’e eo; izaho mitsakore, le añeveñako.
16 And God has made my heart soft, And the Mighty has troubled me.
Ampianifan’ Añahare ty troko, ampangebahebae’ i El-Sadai,
17 For I have not been cut off before darkness, And before me He covered thick darkness.”
Toe tsy naitoañ’ añatrefa’ i ieñey iraho, naho nisaroña’e an-tareheko i fimoromoroñañey.
