Genesis 15
1 After these things the word of YHWH has been to Abram in a vision, saying, “Do not fear, Abram, I [am] a shield to you, your reward [is] exceedingly great.”
൧അതിന്‍റെശേഷം അബ്രാമിന് ദർശനത്തിൽ യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാട് ഉണ്ടായതെന്തെന്നാൽ: “അബ്രാമേ, ഭയപ്പെടേണ്ടാ; ഞാൻ നിന്റെ പരിചയും നിന്റെ അതിമഹത്തായ പ്രതിഫലവും ആകുന്നു”.
2 And Abram says, “Lord YHWH, what do You give to me, and I am going childless? And an acquired son in my house is Demmesek Eliezer.”
൨അതിന് അബ്രാം: “കർത്താവായ യഹോവേ, അങ്ങ് എനിക്ക് എന്ത് തരും? ഞാൻ മക്കളില്ലാത്തവനായി നടക്കുന്നുവല്ലോ; എന്റെ വീടിന്‍റെ അവകാശി ദമാസ്ക്കുകാരനായ എല്യേസെർ അത്രേ” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
3 And Abram says, “Behold, to me You have not given seed, and behold, a servant will be my heir.”
൩“നോക്കൂ, അങ്ങ് എനിക്ക് സന്തതിയെ തന്നിട്ടില്ല, എന്റെ വീട്ടിൽ ജനിച്ച ദാസൻ എന്റെ അവകാശിയാകുന്നു” എന്നും അബ്രാം പറഞ്ഞു.
4 And behold, the word of YHWH [is] to him, saying, “This [one] will not be your heir; but he who comes out from your bowels, he will be your heir”;
൪ഇതാ, യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാട് അവന് ഉണ്ടായതെന്തെന്നാൽ: “അവൻ നിന്റെ അവകാശിയാകയില്ല; നിന്റെ ഉദരത്തില്‍നിന്ന് പുറപ്പെടുന്നവൻ തന്നെ നിന്റെ അവകാശിയാകും”.
5 and He brings him out outside and says, “Now look attentively toward the heavens and count the stars, if you are able to count them”; and He says to him, “Thus is your seed.”
൫പിന്നെ അവിടുന്ന് അബ്രാമിനെ പുറത്തു കൊണ്ടുചെന്നു: “നീ ആകാശത്തേക്കു നോക്കുക; നക്ഷത്രങ്ങളെ എണ്ണുവാൻ കഴിയുമെങ്കിൽ എണ്ണുക” എന്ന് കല്പിച്ചു. “നിന്റെ സന്തതി ഇങ്ങനെ ആകും” എന്നും അവിടുന്ന് അവനോട് കല്പിച്ചു.
6 And he has believed in YHWH, and He reckons it to him—righteousness.
൬അവൻ യഹോവയിൽ വിശ്വസിച്ചു; അത് അവിടുന്ന് അബ്രാമിന് നീതിയായി കണക്കിട്ടു.
7 And He says to him, “I [am] YHWH who brought you out from Ur of the Chaldees, to give to you this land to possess it”;
൭പിന്നെ അവനോട്: “ഈ ദേശത്തെ നിനക്ക് അവകാശമായി തരുവാൻ കൽദയരുടെ പട്ടണമായ ഊരിൽനിന്നു നിന്നെ കൂട്ടിക്കൊണ്ടുവന്ന യഹോവ ഞാൻ ആകുന്നു” എന്ന് അരുളിച്ചെയ്തു.
8 and he says, “Lord YHWH, whereby do I know that I possess it?”
൮“കർത്താവായ യഹോവേ, ഞാൻ അതിനെ അവകാശമാക്കുമെന്നുള്ളത് എനിക്ക് എങ്ങനെ അറിയാം? എന്നു അവൻ ചോദിച്ചു.
9 And He says to him, “Take for Me a heifer of three years, and a female goat of three years, and a ram of three years, and a turtle-dove, and a young bird”;
൯അവിടുന്ന് അവനോട്: “മൂന്നുവയസ്സുള്ള ഒരു പശുക്കിടാവിനെയും മൂന്നുവയസ്സുള്ള ഒരു പെൺകോലാടിനെയും മൂന്നുവയസ്സുള്ള ഒരു ആണാടിനെയും ഒരു കുറുപ്രാവിനെയും ഒരു പ്രാവിൻകുഞ്ഞിനെയും കൊണ്ടുവരിക” എന്നു കല്പിച്ചു.
10 and he takes all these to Him, and separates them in the midst, and puts each piece opposite its fellow, but the bird he has not divided;
൧൦ഇവയെയൊക്കെയും അവൻ കൊണ്ടുവന്ന് ഒത്തനടുവെ രണ്ടായിപിളർന്ന് ഭാഗങ്ങളെ നേർക്കു നേരേ വച്ചു; പക്ഷികളെയോ അവൻ രണ്ടായി പിളർന്നില്ല.
11 and the ravenous birds come down on the carcasses, and Abram causes them to turn back.
൧൧ഉടലുകളിന്മേൽ കഴുകന്മാർ ഇറങ്ങി വന്നപ്പോൾ അബ്രാം അവയെ ഓടിച്ചുകളഞ്ഞു.
12 And the sun is about to go in, and deep sleep has fallen on Abram, and behold, a terror of great darkness is falling on him;
൧൨സൂര്യൻ അസ്തമിക്കുമ്പോൾ അബ്രാമിന് ഒരു ഗാഢനിദ്ര വന്നു; അതാ, ഭീതിയും കൂരിരുട്ടും അവന്റെമേൽ വീണു.
13 and He says to Abram, “knowing—know that your seed is a sojourner in a land not theirs, and they have served them, and they have afflicted them four hundred years,
൧൩അപ്പോൾ അവിടുന്ന് അബ്രാമിനോട്: “നിന്റെ സന്തതി സ്വന്തമല്ലാത്ത ദേശത്ത് പ്രവാസികളായിരുന്ന് ആ ദേശക്കാരെ സേവിക്കും; അവർ നാനൂറ് വർഷം അവരെ പീഡിപ്പിക്കുമെന്ന് അറിഞ്ഞുകൊള്ളുക.
14 and the nation also whom they serve I judge, and after this they go out with great substance;
൧൪എന്നാൽ അവർ സേവിക്കുന്ന ജനതയെ ഞാൻ വിധിക്കും; അതിനുശേഷം അവർ വളരെ സമ്പത്തോടുംകൂടി പുറപ്പെട്ടുപോരും.
15 and you come to your fathers in peace; you are buried in a good old age;
൧൫നീയോ സമാധാനത്തോടെ നിന്റെ പിതാക്കന്മാരോട് ചേരും; നല്ല വാർദ്ധക്യത്തിൽ അടക്കപ്പെടും.
16 and the fourth generation turns back here, for the iniquity of the Amorite is not yet complete.”
൧൬നാലാം തലമുറക്കാർ ഇവിടേക്ക് മടങ്ങിവരും; അമോര്യരുടെ അകൃത്യം ഇതുവരെ തികഞ്ഞിട്ടില്ല” എന്ന് അരുളിച്ചെയ്തു.
17 And it comes to pass—the sun has gone in, and thick darkness has been and behold, a furnace of smoke, and a lamp of fire, which has passed over between those pieces.
൧൭സൂര്യൻ അസ്തമിച്ചു ഇരുട്ടായശേഷം ഇതാ, പുകയുന്ന ഒരു തീച്ചൂളയും ആ ഭാഗങ്ങളുടെ നടുവിലൂടെ കടന്നുപോകുന്ന ഒരു ജ്വലിക്കുന്ന പന്തവും അവിടെ കാണപ്പെട്ടു.
18 In that day has YHWH made with Abram a covenant, saying, “To your seed I have given this land, from the River of Egypt to the great river, the Euphrates River,
൧൮ആ ദിവസം യഹോവ അബ്രാമിനോട് ഒരു ഉടമ്പടിചെയ്തു: “നിന്റെ സന്തതിക്ക് ഞാൻ ഈജിപ്റ്റുനദി മുതൽ യൂഫ്രട്ടീസ് മഹാനദിവരെയുള്ള ഈ ദേശത്തെ,
19 with the Kenite, and the Kenizzite, and the Kadmonite,
൧൯കേന്യർ, കെനിസ്യർ, കദ്മോന്യർ, ഹിത്യർ,
20 and the Hittite, and the Perizzite, and the Rephaim,
൨൦പെരിസ്യർ, രെഫയീമ്യർ, അമോര്യർ,
21 and the Amorite, and the Canaanite, and the Girgashite, and the Jebusite.”
൨൧കനാന്യർ, ഗിർഗ്ഗസ്യർ, യെബൂസ്യർ എന്നിവരുടെ ദേശത്തെ തന്നെ, തന്നിരിക്കുന്നു” എന്ന് അരുളിച്ചെയ്തു.
