Exodus 32
1 And the people see that Moses is delaying to come down from the mountain, and the people assemble against Aaron, and say to him, “Rise, make gods for us, who go before us, for this Moses—the man who brought us up out of the land of Egypt—we have not known what has happened to him.”

2 And Aaron says to them, “Break off the rings of gold which [are] in the ears of your wives, your sons, and your daughters, and bring [them] to me”;
Te dongah Aaron loh amih te, “Na yuu rhoek, na canu, na capa hna dongkah sui hnaiite dul uh lamtah kai taengah hang khuen uh,” a ti nah.
3 and all the people break off the rings of gold which [are] in their ears, and bring [them] to Aaron,
Pilnam pumloh a hna dongkah sui hnaii tea dul uh tih Aaron taenglaa khuen uh.
4 and he receives [it] from their hand, and fashions it with an engraving tool, and makes it [into] a molten calf, and they say, “These [are] your gods, O Israel, who brought you up out of the land of Egypt!”
Amih kut lamkah a loh phoeiah tah te te cacung neh a dum tih vaito mueihlawn la a saii. Te phoeiah, “Israel nang kah pathen la he, he long ni Egypt kho lamloh nang ng'khuen he,” a ti uh.
5 And Aaron sees, and builds an altar before it, and Aaron calls, and says, “A festival to YHWH—tomorrow”;
Aaronloh a hmuh vaengah a hmai ah hmueihtuka suem. Te phoeiah Aaronloh a hoe tih, “Thangvuenah BOEIPA taengah khotue om ni,” a ti nah.
6 and they rise early on the next day, and cause burnt-offerings to ascend, and bring peace-offerings near; and the people sit down to eat and to drink, and rise up to play.
A vuenah thoo uh tih hmueihhlutnaha khuen uh. Rhoepnaha tawn phoeiah tah pilnamte ngol tih a caaka ok neh thoo uh tih nuei uh.
7 And YHWH says to Moses, “Go, descend, for your people whom you have brought up out of the land of Egypt have done corruptly,
Te vaengah BOEIPA loh Moses te, “Egypt kho lamkahna khuen na pilnam he a poci coeng dongah cet lamtah suntla laeh.
8 they have quickly turned aside from the way that I have commanded them; they have made a molten calf for themselves, and bow themselves to it, and sacrifice to it, and say, These [are] your gods, O Israel, who brought you up out of the land of Egypt!”
Amih ka uen longpuei lamloh vilvak taengphael uh tih amamih ham mueihlawn vaitoa saii uh. Te tea bawk uh tih te tea nawn uh. Te phoeiah, “Namah pathen long ni Israel khaw Egypt kho lamloh na khuen,” a ti uh,” a ti nah.
9 And YHWH says to Moses, “I have seen this people, and behold, it [is] a stiff-necked people;
Te phoeiah BOEIPA loh Moses te, “Pilnam he ka hmuh vaengah pilnam kah a rhawn khaw mangkhak rhoe he.
10 and now, leave Me alone, and My anger burns against them, and I consume them, and I make you become a great nation.”
Te dongah kai he n'rhoe laeh. Ka thintoek he amih taengah sai vetih amih ka khap lah ve. Tedae nang te namtom taengah pilnu la kang khueh bitni,” a ti nah.
11 And Moses appeases the face of his God YHWH and says, “Why, O YHWH, does Your anger burn against Your people, whom You have brought forth out of the land of Egypt with great power and with a strong hand?
Te vaengah Moses tah a Pathen BOEIPA neh a maelhmai te thae coeng. Tedae, “BOEIPA aw balae tih Egypt kho lamloh tanglue thadueng neh, tlungluen kut nehna khuen na pilnam taengah na thintoek khaw a sai eh?
12 Why do the Egyptians speak, saying, He brought them out in calamity to slay them among mountains, and to consume them from off the face of the ground? Turn back from the heat of Your anger, and relent from this calamity against Your people.
Balae tih Egypt rhoek loh a thui mai eh? A thae la, “Amih te tlang ah ngawn ham neh amihte diklai hman lamloh khah ham ni amiha khuen,” ti ve. Na thintoek thinsa lamloh mael lamtah na pilnam sokah boethae khaw kohlawt mai.
13 Be mindful of Abraham, of Isaac, and of Israel, Your servants, to whom You have sworn by Yourself, and to whom You speak: I multiply your seed as stars of the heavens, and all this land, as I have said, I give to your seed, and they have inherited [it] for all time”;
Abraham te khaw, Isaak te khaw, na sal Israel te khaw poek mai. Namah loh amih taengahna toemngam tih amih te, 'Na tiingan te vaan aisi bangla, ka ping sak vetih khohmuen pum he na tiingan taengah ka paek vetih kumhal hama pang uh ni,’ ka ti nah,” na ti,” a ti nah.
14 and YHWH relents from the evil which He has spoken of doing to His people.
Te vaengah a pilnam soah boethae saii hama thui tangtae te BOEIPA loh ko a hlawt.
15 And Moses turns, and goes down from the mountain, and the two tablets of the Testimony [are] in his hand, tablets written on both their sides; they [are] written on this [side] and on that [side];
Te daengah Moseste mael tih a kut dongkah olphong cabael panit neh tlang lamloh suntla thuk. Cabael rhoi te a vae rhoi aha daek pah tih khatben ah khaw khatben ah khaw a daek.
16 and the tablets are the work of God, and the writing is the writing of God, engraved on the tablets.

17 And Joshua hears the voice of the people in their shouting and says to Moses, “A noise of battle in the camp!”
Pilnam kah a o ol te Joshualoh a yaak van vaengah Moses te, “Rhaehhmuen kah caemtloek ol te,” a ti nah.
18 And he says, “It is not the voice of the crying of might, nor is it the voice of the crying of weakness—I am hearing a voice of singing.”
Tedae, “Thayung thamal aka doo ham ol pawt tih yawknah aka doo kah ol bal moenih. A doo ol ka yaak ngawn dae,” a ti nah.
19 And it comes to pass, when he has drawn near to the camp, that he sees the calf, and the dancing, and the anger of Moses burns, and he casts the tablets out of his hands, and breaks them below the mountain;
Rhaehhmuen laa moe vaengah vaitoca neh a lam tea hmuh. Te dongah Moses kah thintoekte sai tih a kut tea voeih. Te dongah a kut lamkah cabael rhoi khaw tlang yungah bok rhek.
20 and he takes the calf which they have made, and burns [it] with fire, and grinds [it] until [it is] small, and scatters [it] on the face of the waters, and causes the sons of Israel to drink.
Te phoeiah vaitocaa saii uh tea loh tih hmai neha hoeh. A tip laa neet phoeiah tui soaha phul tih Israel carhoek tea tul.
21 And Moses says to Aaron, “What has this people done to you, that you have brought in a great sin on it?”
Te phoeiah Moses loh Aaron te, “A taengah tholh lenna khuen pah ham he pilnam loh nang taengah balaea saii?” a ti nah.
22 And Aaron says, “Do not let the anger of my lord burn; you have known the people, that it [is beset] with evil;
Te vaengah Aaron loh, “Ka boeipa kah thintoek khaw sai boel mai dae saeh. Pilnam a thae aih khaw namah loh na ming.
23 and they say to me, Make gods for us, who go before us, for this Moses—the man who brought us up out of the land of Egypt—we have not known what has happened to him;
Kai taengah, “Kaimih ham pathen saii lamtah tete mamih hmai ah cet bitni. Egypt kho lamloh mamih aka mawt hlang, Moses he a taengah metlaa om khaw m'ming moenih,” a ti uh.
24 and I say to them, Whoever has gold, let them break [it] off, and they give [it] to me, and I cast it into the fire, and this calf comes out.”
Te dongah amih te, “U khaw sui aka tah dul uh,” ka ti nah. Te vaengah kamah taengla m'paek uh tih hmai dongah ka pup hatah he vaitoca la poeh,” a ti nah.
25 And Moses sees the people, that it [is] unbridled, for Aaron has made it unbridled for contempt among its withstanders,
Te vaengah pilnam tea hlahpham coeng tila Mosesloh a hmuh. Amih aka tlai thil taengah Aaron loh nueih thaboep laa hlahpham dong ni.
26 and Moses stands in the gate of the camp and says, “Who [is] for YHWH? [Come] to me!” And all the sons of Levi are gathered to him;
Te dongah Moses tah rhaehhmuen vongka ah pai tih, “BOEIPA kah te tah kai taengla,” a tinah hatah Levi koca boeihte anih taengla tingtun uh.
27 and he says to them, “Thus said YHWH, God of Israel: Each put his sword by his thigh, pass over and turn back from gate to gate through the camp, and each slay his brother, and each his friend, and each his relation.”
Te phoeiah amih te, “Israel Pathen BOEIPA loh he ni a thui. Hlang loh a cunghangte a phai ah kaelh saeh. Cet saeh lamtah vongka lamloh vongka patoeng hil rhaehhmuen te hil saeh. Te vaengah a manuca hlang te khaw, a hui kah hlang khaw, a hmaiben hlang khaw ngawn saeh,” a ti nah.
28 And the sons of Levi do according to the word of Moses, and there falls of the people on that day about three thousand men,
Te dongah Moses ol bangla Levi koca rhoek loh a saii uh tih te hnin ah pilnam khuikah hlang thawng thum tluk cungku.
29 and Moses says, “Consecrate your hand to YHWH today, for a man [is] against his son, and against his brother, so as to bring a blessing on you today.”
Te daengah Moses loh, “Tihninah BOEIPA ham na kut han cung sak coeng. Hlang he a ca taengah khaw a manuca taengah khaw, tihninah nangmih te yoethennah m'paek pawn ni,” a ti nah.
30 And it comes to pass, on the next day, that Moses says to the people, “You have sinned a great sin, and now I go up to YHWH, perhaps I can atone for your sin.”
A vuen ah tah Moses loh pilnam te, “Nangmih he tholh len neh na tholh uh coeng dae BOEIPA taengah ka cet pawn vetih nangmih kah tholhnah ham ka dawth thai khaming,” a ti nah.
31 And Moses turns back to YHWH and says, “Ah, now this people has sinned a great sin, that they make a god of gold for themselves;
Te phoeiah Moseste BOEIPA taengla mael tih, “Pilnam he aw, amamih ham sui pathena saii uh dongah tholh len neh tholh coeng.
32 and now, if You take away their sin—and if not—please blot me out of Your scroll which You have written.”
Tedae amih kah tholhnah phuei mai laeh. Te pawt atah kai he na daek tangtae na cabu lamloh n'khoe mai laeh,” a ti nah.
33 And YHWH says to Moses, “Whoever has sinned against Me—I blot him out of My scroll;
Tedae BOEIPA loh Moses taengah, “Kai taengah aka tholh te unim? Anihte ka cabu lamloh ka khoe bitni.
34 and now, go, lead the people wherever I have spoken to you of; behold, My Messenger goes before you, and in the day of my charging—then I have charged their sin on them.”
Te dongah cet lamtah nang taengah kan thui bangla pilnam te mawt laeh. Ka puencawn loh na hmai ah cet bitni ne. Ka cawh khohnin ah ngawn tah amamih kah tholhnah bangla amamih soah ka cawh van bitni,” a ti nah.
35 And YHWH plagues the people because they made the calf which Aaron made.
Aaron kah a saii bangla vaitoca tea saii uh dongah BOEIPA loh pilnam tea vuek.
