Zechariah 8
1 And the word of the Lord of hosts came, saying,
La parole de l'Éternel des armées me fut encore adressée en ces mots:
2 Thus hath said the Lord of hosts, I am jealous for Zion with a great jealousy, and with great fury am I jealous for her.
Ainsi a dit l'Éternel des armées: Je suis jaloux pour Sion d'une grande jalousie; je suis jaloux pour elle avec une grande indignation.
3 Thus hath said the Lord, I return unto Zion, and will dwell in the midst of Jerusalem: and Jerusalem shall be called, The city of truth; and the mount of the Lord of hosts, The holy mount.
Ainsi a dit l'Éternel: Je reviens vers Sion; j'habiterai au milieu de Jérusalem; et Jérusalem sera appelée la ville fidèle, et la montagne de l'Éternel des armées, la montagne sainte.
4 Thus hath said the Lord of hosts, Again shall there sit old men and old women in the streets of Jerusalem, and every one with his staff in his hand because of their multitude of years.
Ainsi a dit l'Éternel des armées: Il y aura encore des vieillards et des femmes âgées, assis dans les places de Jérusalem, ayant chacun son bâton à la main, à cause du grand nombre de leurs jours.
5 And the streets of the city shall be full of boys and girls playing in her streets.
Et les places de la ville seront remplies de jeunes garçons et de jeunes filles, qui se joueront dans ses places.
6 Thus hath said the Lord of hosts, If it should be marvelous in the eyes of the remnant of this people in those days, should it also be marvelous in my eyes? saith the Lord of hosts.
Ainsi a dit l'Éternel des armées: Si cela semble difficile aux yeux du reste de ce peuple en ces jours-là, sera-ce pourtant difficile à mes yeux? dit l'Éternel des armées.
7 Thus hath said the Lord of hosts, Behold, I will save my people from the east country and from the country of the setting of the sun;
Ainsi a dit l'Éternel des armées: Voici, je vais sauver mon peuple du pays du Levant, et du pays du Couchant.
8 And I will bring them [back], that they may dwell in the midst of Jerusalem: and they shall be unto me for a people, and I will be unto them for a God, in truth and in righteousness.
Je les ferai venir, et ils habiteront au milieu de Jérusalem; et ils seront mon peuple, et je serai leur Dieu, dans la vérité et dans la justice.
9 Thus hath said the Lord of hosts, Let your hands be strong, ye that hear in these days these words out of the mouth of the prophets, who [spoke] on the day that the foundation of the house of the Lord of hosts was laid, when the temple was to be built.
Ainsi a dit l'Éternel des armées: Que vos mains se fortifient, ô vous qui entendez aujourd'hui ces paroles de la bouche des prophètes, au temps où la maison de l'Éternel des armées a été fondée et son temple rebâti.
10 For before those days there was no reward for man, nor any reward for beast; and for him that went out or came in there was no peace, because of the oppressor: and I let loose all men, every one against his neighbor.
Car, avant ce temps, il n'y avait point de salaire pour le travail de l'homme, ni de salaire pour le travail des bêtes; et pour ceux qui allaient et qui venaient, il n'y avait aucune paix à cause de l'ennemi, et je lançais tous les hommes les uns contre les autres.
11 But now I am no more as in the former days unto the residue of this people, saith the Lord of hosts.
Mais maintenant je ne serai pas pour le reste de ce peuple comme aux premiers jours, dit l'Éternel des armées.
12 For the seed shall be undisturbed; the vine shall give its fruit, and the ground shall give her production, and the heavens shall give their dew: and I will bestow on the remnant of this people all these things.
Car la semence prospérera, la vigne rendra son fruit; la terre donnera son produit; les cieux donneront leur rosée, et je mettrai les restes de ce peuple en possession de toutes ces choses-là.
13 And it shall come to pass, that, in the same degree as ye have been a curse among the nations, O house of Judah, and house of Israel, so will I save you and ye shall be a blessing: fear not; let your hands be strong.
Et comme vous avez été en malédiction parmi les nations, ô maison de Juda et maison d'Israël, ainsi je vous délivrerai, et vous serez en bénédiction. Ne craignez point, et que vos mains se fortifient!
14 For thus hath said the Lord of hosts, As I had purposed to do you evil, when your fathers incensed me, saith the Lord of hosts, and I bethought myself not:
Car ainsi a dit l'Éternel des armées: Comme j'ai résolu de vous faire du mal, quand vos pères ont provoqué mon indignation, dit l'Éternel des armées, et que je ne m'en suis point repenti,
15 So do I again purpose in these days to do well unto Jerusalem and to the house of Judah; fear ye not.
Ainsi j'ai résolu au contraire, en ces jours-ci, de faire du bien à Jérusalem et à la maison de Juda. Ne craignez point!
16 These are the things that ye shall do, Speak ye the truth every man to his neighbor; [with] truth and the judgment of peace judge ye in your gates;
Voici les choses que vous devez faire: Dites la vérité, chacun à son prochain; rendez la justice dans vos portes, selon la vérité et pour la paix.
17 And let none of you think evil in your hearts against his neighbor; and love not a false oath, for all these are what I hate, saith the Lord.
Et ne méditez point dans vos cœurs le mal l'un contre l'autre, et n'aimez point les faux serments, toutes ces choses que je hais, dit l'Éternel.
18 And the word of the Lord of hosts came unto me, saying,
La parole de l'Éternel des armées me fut adressée, en ces mots:
19 Thus hath said the Lord of hosts, The fast of the fourth, and the fast of the fifth, and the fast of the seventh, and the fast of the tenth [month], shall become to the house of Judah gladness and joy, and merry festivals: only love ye the truth and peace.
Ainsi a dit l'Éternel des armées: Le jeûne du quatrième mois, le jeûne du cinquième, le jeûne du septième, et le jeûne du dixième mois deviendront pour la maison de Juda des jours de joie et d'allégresse, et des solennités heureuses. Mais aimez la vérité et la paix.
20 Thus hath said the Lord of hosts, [A time] shall yet be! when there shall come people, and the inhabitants of many cities;
Ainsi a dit l'Éternel des armées: Il viendra encore des peuples et des habitants de plusieurs villes;
21 And the inhabitants of one [city] shall go to another, saying, Let us only go to pray before the Lord, and to seek the Lord of hosts: I too will likewise go.
Et les habitants de l'une iront à l'autre, et diront: Allons, allons supplier l'Éternel, et rechercher l'Éternel des armées! Je veux y aller, moi aussi!
22 And many people and strong nations shall come to seek the Lord of hosts in Jerusalem, and to pray before the Lord.
Et plusieurs peuples et de puissantes nations viendront chercher l'Éternel des armées à Jérusalem, et y supplier l'Éternel.
23 Thus hath said the Lord of hosts, In those days [it shall happen], that ten men out of all the languages of the nations shall take hold—yea, they shall take hold of the skirt of him that is a Jew, saying, Let us go with you; for we have heard that God is with you.
Ainsi a dit l'Éternel des armées: En ces jours-là, dix hommes de toutes les langues des nations saisiront le pan de la robe d'un Juif, et diront: Nous irons avec vous, car nous avons appris que Dieu est avec vous.
