Psalms 24

1 “Of David a psalm.” Unto the Lord belongeth the earth with what filleth it, the world and they that dwell therein;

En Psalm Davids. Jorden är Herrans, och hvad deruti är; jordenes krets, och hvad derpå bor.

2 For upon seas hath he founded it, and upon rivers hath he established it.

Ty han hafver grundat henne på hafvena, och på floderna beredt henne.

3 Who shall ascend into the mountain of the Lord? and who shall be able to stand in his holy place?

Ho skall gå uppå Herrans berg? Och ho kan stå uti hans helga rum?

4 He that is of clean hands, and pure of heart; who hath not lifted up his soul unto falsehood, and hath not sworn deceitfully:

Den oskyldiga händer hafver, och renhjertad är; den ej lust hafver till lösaktiga läro, och svär icke falskeliga;

5 He shall bear away blessing from the Lord, and [the reward of] righteousness from the God of his salvation.

Han skall undfå välsignelse af Herranom, och rättfärdighet af sins helsos Gud.

6 This is the generation of those that adore him, that seek thy presence, [the sons of] Jacob. (Selah)

Detta är den slägt, som efter honom frågar, den ditt ansigte, Jacob, söker. (Sela)

7 Raise your heads, O ye gates; and be raised wide, ye everlasting doors: and let the King of glory enter!

Görer portarna vida, och dörrarna i verldene höga, att ärones Konung må draga derin.

8 Who is this King of glory? The Lord strong and mighty, the Lord mighty in battle.

Hvilken är den samme ärones Konung? Det är Herren, stark och mägtig, Herren mägtig i strid.

9 Raise your heads, O ye gates; and raise [them] up, ye everlasting doors: and let the King of glory enter!

Görer portarna vida, och dörrarna i verldene höga, att ärones Konung må draga derin.

10 Who is then this King of glory? The Lord of hosts, he is the King of glory. (Selah)

Hvilken är den samme ärones Konung? Det är Herren Zebaoth; han är ärones Konung. (Sela)
