Psalms 24

1 “Of David a psalm.” Unto the Lord belongeth the earth with what filleth it, the world and they that dwell therein;

Un psaume de David. La terre appartient à Yahvé, avec sa plénitude; le monde, et ceux qui l'habitent.

2 For upon seas hath he founded it, and upon rivers hath he established it.

Car il l'a fondée sur les mers, et l'a établi sur les inondations.

3 Who shall ascend into the mountain of the Lord? and who shall be able to stand in his holy place?

Qui peut monter sur la colline de Yahvé? Qui peut se tenir dans son lieu saint?

4 He that is of clean hands, and pure of heart; who hath not lifted up his soul unto falsehood, and hath not sworn deceitfully:

Celui qui a les mains propres et le cœur pur; qui n'a pas élevé son âme vers le mensonge, et n'a pas fait de faux serments.

5 He shall bear away blessing from the Lord, and [the reward of] righteousness from the God of his salvation.

Il recevra une bénédiction de Yahvé, la justice du Dieu de son salut.

6 This is the generation of those that adore him, that seek thy presence, [the sons of] Jacob. (Selah)

C'est la génération de ceux qui le cherchent, qui cherchent votre visage - même Jacob. (Selah)

7 Raise your heads, O ye gates; and be raised wide, ye everlasting doors: and let the King of glory enter!

Relevez vos têtes, portes! Élevez-vous, portes éternelles, et le Roi de gloire entrera.

8 Who is this King of glory? The Lord strong and mighty, the Lord mighty in battle.

Qui est le roi de la gloire? Yahvé fort et puissant, Yahvé est puissant au combat.

9 Raise your heads, O ye gates; and raise [them] up, ye everlasting doors: and let the King of glory enter!

Relevez vos têtes, portes; oui, élevez-les, portes éternelles, et le Roi de gloire entrera.

10 Who is then this King of glory? The Lord of hosts, he is the King of glory. (Selah)

Qui est ce Roi de gloire? Yahvé des Armées est le Roi de gloire! (Selah)
