< Psalms 135 >
1 Hallelujah. Praise ye the name of the Lord; praise him, O ye servants of the Lord;
Praise ye the Lord. Praise the Name of the Lord: ye seruants of the Lord, praise him.
2 Ye that stand in the house of the Lord, in the courts of the house of our God.
Ye that stande in the House of the Lord, and in the courtes of the House of our God,
3 Hallelujah; for the Lord is good: sing praises unto his name; for it is lovely.
Praise ye the Lord: for the Lord is good: sing praises vnto his Name: for it is a comely thing.
4 For Jacob hath the Lord chosen unto himself, Israel, as his peculiar treasure.
For the Lord hath chosen Iaakob to himselfe, and Israel for his chiefe treasure.
5 For I well know that the Lord is great, and that our Lord is above all gods.
For I know that the Lord is great, and that our Lord is aboue all gods.
6 Whatsoever the Lord willeth, hath he done in the heavens, and on the earth, in the seas, and in all the deeps.
Whatsoeuer pleased the Lord, that did hee in heauen and in earth, in the sea, and in all the depths.
7 He causeth clouds to ascend from the ends of the earth; he maketh lightnings with the rain; he bringeth forth the wind out of his treasuries.
He bringeth vp the cloudes from the ends of the earth, and maketh the lightnings with ye raine: he draweth foorth the winde out of his treasures.
8 [He it is] who smote the first-born of Egypt, both of man and of cattle;
He smote the first borne of Egypt both of man and beast.
9 Who sent signs and wonderful tokens into the midst of thee, O Egypt, against Pharaoh, and against all his servants;
He hath sent tokens and wonders into the middes of thee, O Egypt, vpon Pharaoh, and vpon all his seruants.
10 Who smote many nations, and slew mighty kings;
He smote many nations, and slew mightie Kings:
11 Sichon the king of the Emorites, and 'Og the king of Bashan, and all the kingdoms of Canaan;
As Sihon King of the Amorites, and Og King of Bashan, and all the kingdomes of Canaan:
12 And gave their land as an inheritance, an inheritance unto Israel his people.
And gaue their lande for an inheritance, euen an inheritance vnto Israel his people.
13 O Lord, thy name [endureth] for ever: O Lord, thy memorial is throughout all generations.
Thy Name, O Lord, endureth for euer: O Lord, thy remembrance is from generation to generation.
14 For the Lord will espouse the cause of his people, and concerning his servants will he bethink himself.
For the Lord will iudge his people, and be pacified towardes his seruants.
15 The idols of the nations are silver and gold, the work of the hands of men.
The idoles of the heathen are siluer and golde, euen the worke of mens handes.
16 Mouths they have, but they speak not; eyes they have, but they see not;
They haue a mouth, and speake not: they haue eyes and see not.
17 Ears they have, but they hear not; neither is there any breath in their mouth.
They haue eares and heare not, neither is there any breath in their mouth.
18 Like them are those that make them, every one that trusteth in them.
They that make them, are like vnto them: so are all that trust in them.
19 O house of Israel, bless ye the Lord; O house of Aaron, bless ye the Lord.
Praise the Lord, ye house of Israel: praise the Lord, ye house of Aaron.
20 O house of Levi, bless ye the Lord; ye that fear the Lord, bless the Lord.
Praise the Lord, ye house of Leui: ye that feare the Lord, praise the Lord.
21 Blessed be the Lord out of Zion, even he that resideth at Jerusalem. Hallelujah.
Praised bee the Lord out of Zion, which dwelleth in Ierusalem. Praise ye the Lord.
