< Psalms 114 >
1 When Israel went forth out of Egypt, the house of Jacob from a people of a strange language:
Wakati Israeli walipotoka Misri, nyumba ya Yakobo kutoka kwa watu wa lugha ngeni,
2 Judah became his sanctuary, [and] Israel his dominion.
Yuda alifanywa makao matakatifu ya Mungu, Israeli akawa milki yake.
3 The sea beheld it, and fled: the Jordan was driven backward.
Bahari ilitazama ikakimbia, Yordani ulirudi nyuma,
4 The mountains skipped like wethers, the hills like lambs.
milima ilirukaruka kama kondoo dume, vilima kama wana-kondoo.
5 What aileth thee, O sea, that thou fleest? thou, O Jordan, that thou art driven backward?
Ee bahari, ni nini kilichokufanya ukakimbia, nawe, ee Yordani, ukarudi nyuma,
6 Ye mountains, that ye skip like wethers? ye hills, like lambs?
enyi milima mkarukaruka kama kondoo dume, enyi vilima, kama wana-kondoo?
7 At the presence of the Lord tremble, O earth, at the presence of the God of Jacob;
Ee dunia, tetemeka mbele za Bwana, mbele za Mungu wa Yakobo,
8 Who changeth the rock into a pool of water, the flint into a fountain of water.
aliyegeuza mwamba kuwa dimbwi la maji, mwamba mgumu kuwa chemchemi za maji.
