< Proverbs 2 >

1 My son, if thou wouldst but accept my words, and treasure up my commandments with thee;
Anaka, raha raisinao ny teniko, Ary raketinao ao am-ponao ny didiko,
2 To let thy ear listen unto wisdom: [if] thou wouldst incline thy heart to understanding.
Ka atongilanao amin’ ny fahendrena ny sofinao, Ary ampitandremanao fahalalana ny fonao;
3 For if thou wilt call after intelligence; if after understanding thou wilt lift up thy voice;
Eny, raha miantso ny fahalalana ianao Ary manandratra ny feonao hahazo saina,
4 If thou wilt seek her as silver, and search for her as for hidden treasures:
Raha mitady azy toy ny fitady volafotsy ianao Ary mikatsaka azy toy ny fikatsaka harena afenina:
5 Then wilt thou understand the fear of the Lord, and the knowledge of God wilt thou find.
Dia ho fantatrao marina ny fahatahorana an’ i Jehovah, Ary ho hitanao ny fahalalana an’ Andriamanitra.
6 For the Lord giveth wisdom: out of his mouth [come] knowledge and understanding.
Fa Jehovah no manome fahendrena; Avy amin’ ny vavany no ihavian’ ny fahalalana sy ny fahazavan-tsaina.
7 He treasureth up sound wisdom for the righteous, as a shield to those that walk in integrity:
Izy mitahiry fanambinanaho an’ ny mahitsy Sady ampingan’ izay mandeha tsy misy tsiny;
8 That men may keep the paths of justice; and the way of his pious servants doth he guard.
Ka dia mitandrina ny lalan’ ny fahamarinana Izy Ary miambina ny lalan’ ny olony masìna.
9 Then wilt thou understand righteousness, and justice, and equity: yea, every track of goodness.
Ary amin’ izay dia ho fantatrao ny fahamarinana sy ny rariny Ary ny hitsiny, dia ny lalana tsara rehetra.
10 For wisdom will enter thy heart, and knowledge will be pleasant unto thy soul;
Raha latsaka ao am-ponao ny fahendrena, Ary mamin’ ny fanahinao ny fahalalana,
11 Discretion will watch over thee, understanding will keep thee;
Dia hiaro anao ny fisainana mazava, Ary hiambina anao ny fahalalana,
12 To deliver thee from the way of the bad, from the man that speaketh perverse things;
Ka hamonjy anao amin’ ny lalan-dratsy Sy amin’ ny lehilahy izay miteny fitaka,
13 [From those] who leave the paths of uprightness, to walk in the ways of darkness;
Izay mahafoy ny lalan’ ny fahamarinana Mba hizorany amin’ ny lalan’ ny fahamaizinana,
14 Who rejoice to do evil, who are delighted in the perverseness of the bad;
Dia izay faly hanao ratsy Sy finaritra amin’ ny fitaky ny ratsy,
15 Who as regardeth their paths are crooked, and froward in their tracks.
Dia izay melo-dalana Sy maniasia amin’ ny alehany;
16 To deliver thee from the adulteress, from the alien woman that useth flattering speeches;
Ary hamonjy anao amin’ ny vehivavy jejo koa izany, Dia amin’ ny vahiny janga izay mandrobo amin’ ny teniny,
17 That forsaketh the friend of her youth, and forgetteth the covenant of her God.
Izay mahafoy ny vadin’ ny fahatanorany Sy manadino ny fanekeny teo amin’ Andriamaniny.
18 For she sinketh unto death—her house, and unto the departed [lead] her tracks.
Fa ny tranony milentika ho amin’ ny fahafatesana, Ary ny alehany mankany amin’ ny maty.
19 All that come unto her return not again, and they will not reach the paths of life.
Tsy misy afa-miverina izay mankany aminy, Na mihazo amin’ ny lalan’ aina,
20 In order that thou mayest walk in the way of good men, and observe the paths of the righteous.
Handehananao amin’ ny lalan’ ny tsara fanahy Sy hitandremanao ny alehan’ ny marina.
21 For the upright will dwell on the earth, and the perfect will be left remaining on it.
Fa ny olona mahitsy no honina amin’ ny tany, Ary ny tsy manan-tsiny ihany no ho sisa mitoetra ao;
22 But the wicked will be cut off from the earth, and the treacherous shall be plucked up therefrom.
Fa ny ratsy fanahy kosa hofongorana amin’ ny tany, Ary ny mpivadika hongotana.
