< Proverbs 2 >
1 My son, if thou wouldst but accept my words, and treasure up my commandments with thee;
Ka capa, ka lawk hah ngâi nateh, kaie kâpoelawknaw e hah na lungthung vah na pâkuem pawiteh,
2 To let thy ear listen unto wisdom: [if] thou wouldst incline thy heart to understanding.
Lungangnae koe lah na hnâpakeng nateh, na thai panuek nahanelah na lungthin na poe pawiteh,
3 For if thou wilt call after intelligence; if after understanding thou wilt lift up thy voice;
Kapek thai nahanelah na kaw teh, thaipanueknae tawn hanelah na hram pawiteh,
4 If thou wilt seek her as silver, and search for her as for hidden treasures:
ngun patetlah na tawng teh, hro e hno patetlah na tawng pawiteh,
5 Then wilt thou understand the fear of the Lord, and the knowledge of God wilt thou find.
BAWIPA takinae na panue vaiteh, Cathut panuenae hah na hmu han.
6 For the Lord giveth wisdom: out of his mouth [come] knowledge and understanding.
Bangkongtetpawiteh, BAWIPA ni lungangnae a poe teh, a pahni hoi panuenae hoi thaipanueknae hah ouk a tâco sak.
7 He treasureth up sound wisdom for the righteous, as a shield to those that walk in integrity:
Tamikalannaw hanelah lungangnae katang hah a pâkhueng pouh teh, kalan lah kacetnaw hanelah bahling lah ao.
8 That men may keep the paths of justice; and the way of his pious servants doth he guard.
Kângingnae lam hah a ring teh, a tamikathoungnaw e lamthung hah a ngue pouh.
9 Then wilt thou understand righteousness, and justice, and equity: yea, every track of goodness.
Hottelahoi, kângingnae hoi lannae na thaipanuek vaiteh, ngaima tawnhoehnae hoi kahawi e lamthung hai na panue han.
10 For wisdom will enter thy heart, and knowledge will be pleasant unto thy soul;
Na lungthin dawk lungangnae a kâen toteh, panuenae teh, na hringnae kanawm sakkung lah ao han.
11 Discretion will watch over thee, understanding will keep thee;
Poukpanueknae ni na ngue vaiteh, thaipanueknae ni na ring han.
12 To deliver thee from the way of the bad, from the man that speaketh perverse things;
Tamikathoutnaw e lamthung dawk hoi na rungngang han. Lawk longkawi lah ka dei e,
13 [From those] who leave the paths of uprightness, to walk in the ways of darkness;
Lannae lamthung ka pahnawt niteh, hmonae lamthung dawn hanelah ka cet e,
14 Who rejoice to do evil, who are delighted in the perverseness of the bad;
thoenae saknae dawk lungkahawi e, tamikathout lanhoehnae dawk a lungkahawi e,
15 Who as regardeth their paths are crooked, and froward in their tracks.
Lam longkawi ka dawn niteh, a lamthung dawk yuemkamcu hoeh e,
16 To deliver thee from the adulteress, from the alien woman that useth flattering speeches;
Kahlong lae napui hoi pasawtpanep lawk ka hno e,
17 That forsaketh the friend of her youth, and forgetteth the covenant of her God.
A naw nah hui ka cettakhai niteh, a Cathut lawkkam kapahnimnaw koehoi nang hah na rungngang han.
18 For she sinketh unto death—her house, and unto the departed [lead] her tracks.
Bangkongtetpawiteh, ahnie im ni duenae koe lah a hrawi teh, ahnie lam ni tamikadoutnaw koelah a pâtam.
19 All that come unto her return not again, and they will not reach the paths of life.
Ahni koe kacetnaw teh ban boihoeh toe. Hringnae lam hah dawn boi awh hoeh toe.
20 In order that thou mayest walk in the way of good men, and observe the paths of the righteous.
Nang teh tamikahawinaw e lamthung na dawn vaiteh, lannae lamthung pou na dawn thai nahane doeh.
21 For the upright will dwell on the earth, and the perfect will be left remaining on it.
Bangkongtetpawiteh, tamikalan teh ram dawk kho a sak vaiteh, tami kakuep teh hawvah pou ao han.
22 But the wicked will be cut off from the earth, and the treacherous shall be plucked up therefrom.
Hatei, tamikathout teh talai van hoi takhoe lah awm vaiteh, yuemkamcu hoeh naw hah phawk lah ao awh han.
