< Proverbs 15 >
1 A soft answer turneth away fury; but a mortifying word stirreth up anger.
Mongkawt la hlatnah loh kosi khaw a hlam tih, patangnah ol loh thintoek khaw a soeh.
2 The tongue of the wise maketh knowledge acceptable; but the mouth of fools sputtereth out folly.
Aka cueih kah a ol loh mingnah te a hloeihhlam tih, aka ang rhoek a ka loh a anglat te a thaa.
3 In every place are the eyes of the Lord, looking on the bad and the good.
BOEIPA kah a mik loh hmuen ta kuem kah a thae a then te a tawt.
4 A healing [word] of the tongue is a tree of life; but perverseness therein is a breach to the spirit.
Ol dongah hoeihnah aka om tah hingnah thingkung la om tih, a khuiah saveknah khaw mueihla pocinah ham ni.
5 A fool contemneth the correction of his father; but he that observeth admonition will become prudent.
Aka ang loh a napa kah thuituennah te a tlaitlaek tih, toelthamnah aka ngaithuen tah muet uh.
6 In the house of the righteous there is much treasure; but in the income of the wicked is trouble.
Hlang dueng kah im ah khohrhang khaw khawk, tedae halang kah a cangthaih long tah hlang a lawn.
7 The lips of the wise scatter knowledge; but the heart of fools is not reliable.
Hlang cueih rhoek long tah mingnah te a haeh dae, aka ang kah lungbuei tah te tlam moenih.
8 The sacrifice of the wicked is an abomination of the Lord: but, the prayer of the upright [obtaineth] his favor.
Halang kah hmueih te BOEIPA kah a tueilaehkoi tih, aka thuem kah thangthuinah te a kolonah la a khueh.
9 An abomination of the Lord is the way of the wicked; but him that pursueth righteousness will he love.
Halang kah longpuei tah BOEIPA kah tueilaehkoi tih, duengnah aka hloem tah a lungnah.
10 An evil correction is [destined] for him that forsaketh the [right] path; he that hateth admonition will die.
Thuituennah caehlong aka hnoo ham tah thae tih, toelthamnah aka hmuhuet tah duek ni.
11 The nether world and corruption are open before the Lord: how much more then the hearts of the children of men! (Sheol )
Saelkhui neh Abaddon pataeng BOEIPA hmaiah a phoe atah, hlang ca rhoek kah lungbuei aisat te. (Sheol )
12 A scorner loveth not that one should admonish him: unto the wise doth he not go.
Amah a toel ham te hmuiyoi loh a lungnah pawt dongah, aka cueih te khaw paan laklo pawh.
13 A merry heart cheereth up the countenance; but when the heart feeleth pain the spirit is depressed.
Lungbuei, ko aka hoe tah a maelhmai hlampan tih, lungbuei kah nganboh loh mueihla a rhawp sak.
14 The heart of the man of understanding seeketh knowledge; but the mouth of fools feedeth on folly.
Aka yakming kah lungbuei long tah mingnah khaw mikhmuh khaw a tlap, tedae aka ang kah a ka loh anglat a luem puei.
15 All the days of the afflicted are evil; but he that is of a cheerful heart hath a continual feast.
Mangdaeng rhoek kah a khohnin tah boeih thae, tedae lungbuei aka then tah buhkoknah toei toei om.
16 Better is little with the fear of the Lord, than great treasure and confusion therewith.
Thakvoh len tih a khuiah soekloeknah a om lakah BOEIPA hinyahnah dongkah tah a yol khaw then.
17 Better is an allowance of herbs when love is there, than a stall-fed ox and hatred therewith.
Buhkak ansam khaw lungnah n'caak atah, hmuhuetnah neh n'caak vaito thapaduek lakah then.
18 A man of fury stirreth up strife; but he that is slow to anger assuageth contention.
Olpungkacan aka huek hlang he sue la om tih, thintoek aka ueh loh tuituknah khaw a duem sak.
19 The way of the slothful man is like a hedge of thorns; but the path of the upright is a levelled [road].
Kolhnaw kah longpuei tah hling a buk banghui la om tih, aka thuem kah caehlong tah a picai pah.
20 A wise son causeth his father to rejoice; but a foolish man despiseth his mother.
Ca aka cueih loh a napa ko a hoe sak tih, tongpa aka ang loh a manu a hnaep.
21 Folly is joy to him that is void of sense; but a man of understanding walketh straight forward.
Lungbuei aka talh ham tah a anglat te a kohoenah tih, hlang lungcuei tah a caeh dueng.
22 Plans are frustrated without consultation; but through a multitude of counsellors canst thou maintain thyself.
Baecenol pawt atah kopoek bing tih, a cungkuem taengah aka uen tah pai.
23 A man hath joy by the answer of his mouth; and a word [spoken] at the proper time, how good is it!
A ka dongkah hlatnah loh hlang ham kohoenah la om tih, olka khaw amah tuetang vaengah tah then tloe pai.
24 The path of life [leadeth] upward for the intelligent, in order that he may avoid the nether world beneath. (Sheol )
Hlang aka cangbam ham tah saelkhui laedil lamloh hoeptlang hamla hingnah caehlong om hang. (Sheol )
25 The Lord, will tear down the house of the proud; but he will set up firmly the boundary [-stone] of the widow.
Thinthah im tah BOEIPA loh a phil pah tih, nuhmai kah rhi te a suem pah.
26 An abomination of the Lord are the thoughts of the bad man; but pleasant speeches are pure [before him].
Kopoek thae he BOEIPA kah a tueilaehkoi tih, ol then te a omthennah.
27 He that is greedy after gain troubleth his own house; but he that hateth gifts will live.
Mueluemnah dongkah aka mueluem loh a imkhui a lawn tih, kutdoe aka thiinah tah hing ni.
28 The heart of the righteous reflecteth to answer; but the mouth of the wicked sputtereth out evil things.
Hlang dueng kah lungbuei loh ol doo ham khaw a thuep tih, halang kah a ka loh boethae a thaa.
29 The Lord is far from the wicked; but the prayer of the righteous doth he hear.
BOEIPA loh halang te a lakhla tak tih, aka dueng kah thangthuinah te a hnatun pah.
30 [What is pleasant to] the light of the eyes rejoiceth the heart: a good report giveth marrow to the bones.
Mik kah vangnah loh lungbuei ko a hoe sak tih, olthang then loh rhuhrhong a cang sak.
31 The ear that heareth the admonition of life will ever abide in the midst of the wise.
Hna dongah toelthamnah aka hnatun tah hingnah la om tih, hlang cueih lakli ah rhaehrhong ni.
32 He that rejecteth correction despiseth his own soul; but he that heareth admonition acquireth intelligence.
Thuituennah aka hlahpham loh a hinglu a hnawt tih, toelthamnah aka hnatun tah lungbuei a lai.
33 The fear of the Lord is the correction for wisdom; and before honor there must come humility.
BOEIPA hinyahnah he cueihnah neh thuituennah la om tih kodonah tah thangpomnah mikhmuh ah a lamhma pah.
