Job 14
1 Man born of a woman is short of days, and sated with harrowing trouble.
“O homem, que nasce de uma mulher, é de poucos dias, e cheio de problemas.
2 Like a flower he cometh forth, and is cut down: and he fleeth like a shadow, and remaineth not.
Ele cresce como uma flor, e é cortado. Ele também foge como uma sombra, e não continua.
3 And yet on such a one dost thou open thy eyes, and me thou bringest into judgment with thee?
Você abre seus olhos para tal, e me levar a julgamento com você?
4 Who can make a clean thing out of an unclean? not one [thing].
Quem pode trazer uma coisa limpa de uma coisa impura? Nem um.
5 Seeing that his days are determined, the number of his months are [fixed] with thee, that thou hast set his bounds which he cannot pass:
Seeing seus dias estão determinados, o número de seus meses está com você, e você indicou seus limites que ele não pode passar.
6 Turn thyself from him that he may recover from his pain, and be able to enjoy like a hired laborer his day.
Desvie o olhar dele, para que ele possa descansar, até que ele cumpra, como um mercenário, seu dia.
7 For there is hope for the tree: if it be cut down, it may still sprout again, while its young shoot will not cease.
“Pois há esperança para uma árvore se ela for cortada, que brotará novamente, que o seu ramo de oferta não cessará.
8 If even its root become old in the earth, and its stock die in the dust:
Embora sua raiz envelheça na terra, e seu estoque morre no chão,
9 Yet through the scent of water will it flourish [again], and produce boughs as though It were newly planted.
yet através do cheiro da água, ela irá brotar, e brotam ramos como uma planta.
10 But man dieth, and lieth powerless: yea, the son of earth departeth—and where is he?
Mas o homem morre, e é colocado em baixo. Sim, o homem desiste do espírito, e onde ele está?
11 The waters run off from the sea, and the river faileth and drieth up:
Como as águas falham a partir do mar, e o rio desperdiça e seca,
12 So doth man lie down, and riseth not: till the heavens be no more, they will not awake, and will not be roused out of their sleep.
para que o homem se deite e não se levante. Até que os céus não estejam mais acordados, nem serem despertados do sono.
13 Oh who would grant that thou mightest hide me in the nether world, that thou mightest conceal me, until thy wrath be appeased, that thou mightest set for me a fixed time, and remember me then! (Sheol h7585)
“Oh, que você me esconderia no Sheol, que você me manteria em segredo até que sua ira passasse, que você me indicaria um tempo determinado e se lembraria de mim! (Sheol h7585)
14 Or, when a man dieth, will he live again? all the days of my time of service would I then wait, till [the hour of] my release were come.
Se um homem morrer, será que ele viverá novamente? Eu esperaria todos os dias da minha guerra, até minha liberação chegar.
15 Do thou call, and I will truly answer thee: have a desire for the work of thy hands.
Você ligaria, e eu lhe responderia. Você teria um desejo pelo trabalho de suas mãos.
16 Yet now thou numberest my steps: and thou waitest not with [the punishment of] my sin.
Mas agora você conta meus passos. Você não cuida do meu pecado?
17 Sealed up in a bag is my transgression, and thou yet addest to my iniquity.
Minha desobediência é selada em uma bolsa. Você prende minha iniqüidade.
18 But truly a falling mountain will crumble, and [even] a rock is moved out of its place.
“Mas a montanha que cai não dá em nada. A rocha é removida de seu lugar.
19 The water weareth out stones; thou sweepest away their fragments [like] the dust of the earth: and so thou destroyest the hope of man.
As águas desgastam as pedras. As torrentes da mesma lavam o pó da terra. Assim você destrói a esperança do homem.
20 Thou assailest him with might without ceasing, till he passeth away: thou changest his countenance, and sendest him off.
Você prevalece para sempre contra ele, e ele parte. Você muda seu rosto, e o manda embora.
21 His children acquire honor, but he knoweth it not: and they are esteemed little, but he perceiveth nothing of them.
Seus filhos vêm para honrar, e ele não sabe disso. Eles são trazidos para baixo, mas ele não percebe isso deles.
22 But his body. on him, feeleth pain, and his soul will mourn for him.
Mas sua carne tem dor, e sua alma dentro dele chora”.
