Ezra 10
1 Now when 'Ezra prayed, and when he made his confession, weeping and casting himself down before the house of God, there gathered themselves unto him out of Israel a very large assembly of men and women and children; for the people wept exceedingly much.
Und da Esra also betete und bekannte, weinete und vor dem Hause Gottes lag, sammelten sich zu ihm aus Israel eine sehr große Gemeine von Männern und Weibern und Kindern; denn das Volk weinete sehr.
2 Thereupon commenced Shechanyah the son of Jechiel, of the sons of 'Elam, and said unto 'Ezra, we have indeed trespassed against our God, and have brought home strange wives of the nations of the land: yet now there is hope in Israel concerning this thing.
Und Sachanja, der Sohn Jehiels, aus den Kindern Elam, antwortete und sprach zu Esra: Wohlan, wir haben uns an unserm Gott vergriffen, daß wir fremde Weiber aus den Völkern des Landes genommen haben. Nun, es ist noch Hoffnung in Israel über dem.
3 And now let us make a covenant with our God to put away all the wives, and such as are born of them, according to the direction of the Lord, and of those that tremble at the commandment of our God: and let it be done according to the law.
So laßt uns nun einen Bund machen mit unserm Gott, daß wir alle Weiber, und die von ihnen geboren sind, hinaustun nach dem Rat des HERRN und derer, die die Gebote unsers Gottes fürchten, daß man tue nach dem Gesetz.
4 Arise; for this matter is obligatory upon thee; and we will be with thee: be strong, and do it.
So mache dich auf, denn dir gebührt es; wir wollen mit dir sein. Sei getrost und tu es!
5 Then arose 'Ezra, and caused the princes of the priests, the Levites, and of all Israel, to swear to do according to this word. And they swore.
Da stund Esra auf und nahm einen Eid von den obersten Priestern und Leviten und dem ganzen Israel, daß sie nach diesem Wort tun sollten. Und sie schwuren.
6 Then arose 'Ezra from before the house of God, and went into the chamber of Jochanan the son of Elyashib; and he went thither without having eaten bread, or having drunk water; for he was mourning because of the trespass of the exiles.
Und Esra stund auf vor dem Hause Gottes und ging in die Kammer Johanans, des Sohns Eliasibs. Und da er daselbst hinkam, aß er kein Brot und trank kein Wasser; denn er trug Leid um die Vergreifung derer, die gefangen gewesen waren.
7 And they made proclamation throughout Judah and Jerusalem unto all the children of the exile, to gather themselves together at Jerusalem;
Und sie ließen ausrufen durch Juda und Jerusalem zu allen Kindern, die gefangen waren gewesen, daß sie sich gen Jerusalem versammelten.
8 And that whosoever should not come within three days, according to the resolve of the princes and the elders, all his substance should be devoted, and himself separated from the congregation of the exiles.
Und welcher nicht käme in dreien Tagen nach dem Rat der Obersten und Ältesten, des Habe sollte alle verbannet sein und er abgesondert von der Gemeine der Gefangenen.
9 Then were all the men of Judah and Benjamin gathered together unto Jerusalem within three days: it was in the ninth month, on the twentieth day of the month; and all the people sat in the open place before the house of God, trembling because of this matter, and by reason of the showers of rain.
Da versammelten sich alle Männer Judas und Benjamins gen Jerusalem in dreien Tagen, das ist, im zwanzigsten Tage des neunten Monden. Und alles Volk saß auf der Straße vor dem Hause Gottes und zitterten um der Sache willen und vom Regen.
10 And 'Ezra the priest rose up, and said unto them, Ye have acted unfaithfully, and have brought home strange wives, to increase yet more the guiltiness of Israel.
Und Esra, der Priester, stund auf und sprach zu ihnen: Ihr habt euch vergriffen, daß ihr fremde Weiber genommen habt, daß ihr der Schuld Israels noch mehr machtet:
11 Now therefore make confession unto the Lord the God of your fathers, and do his will; and separate yourselves from the nations of the earth, and from the strange wives.
So bekennet nun dem HERRN, eurer Väter Gott, und tut sein Wohlgefallen und scheidet euch von den Völkern des Landes und von den fremden Weibern.
12 Then answered all the assembly and said with a loud voice, So be it: according to thy word it is our duty to do.
Da antwortete die ganze Gemeine und sprach mit lauter Stimme: Es geschehe, wie du uns gesagt hast.
13 But the people are many, and it is the rainy season, and we have not the strength to remain in the street, nor is this a work for one day or for two days; for we are many that have transgressed in this matter.
Aber des Volks ist viel und regnerisch Wetter und kann nicht draußen stehen; so ist's auch nicht eines oder zweier Tage Werk, denn wir haben's viel gemacht solcher Übertretung.
14 Let however our princes stand forward for all the congregation, and let all those in our cities who have brought home strange wives come at appointed times, and with them the elders of each and every city, and its judges, until the fierce wrath of our God be turned away from us for this whole matter.
Laßt uns unsere Obersten bestellen in der ganzen Gemeine, daß alle, die in unsern Städten fremde Weiber genommen haben, zu bestimmten Zeiten kommen, und die Ältesten einer jeglichen Stadt und ihre Richter mit, bis daß von uns gewendet werde der Zorn unsers Gottes um dieser Sache willen.
15 Only Jonathan the son of 'Assahel and Jachzeyah the son of Thikvah withstood this [proposal]: and Meshullam and Shabbethai the Levite assisted them.
Da wurden bestellet Jonathan, der Sohn Asahels, und Jehasja, der Sohn Thikwas, über diese Sachen, und Mesullam und Habthai, die Leviten, halfen ihnen.
16 And the children of the exile did so. And then were set apart 'Ezra the priest, [and] certain chiefs of the divisions, for their family divisions, and all of them [designated] by their names; and they sat down on the first day of the tenth month to examine the matter.
Und die Kinder des Gefängnisses taten also. Und der Priester Esra und die vornehmsten Väter unter ihrer Väter Hause und alle jetzt Benannten schieden sie; und setzten sich am ersten Tage des zehnten Monden, zu forschen diese Sachen,
17 And they made an end with all, with the men that had brought home strange wives, not before the first day of the first month.
und sie richteten's aus an allen Männern, die fremde Weiber hatten, am ersten Tage des ersten Monden.
18 And there were found among the sons of the priests that had brought home strange wives, namely, of the sons of Jeshua' the son of Jozadak, and his brethren: Ma'asseyah, and Eli'ezer, and Jarib, and Gedalyah.
Und es wurden funden unter den Kindern der Priester, die fremde Weiber genommen hatten, nämlich unter den Kindern Jesuas, des Sohns Jozadaks, und seinen Brüdern: Maesaja, Elieser, Jarib und Gedalja.
19 And they gave their hand to put away their wives, and being guilty, [they offered] a ram of the flock for their trespass.
Und sie gaben ihre Hand drauf, daß sie die Weiber wollten ausstoßen und zu ihrem Schuldopfer einen Widder für ihre Schuld geben.
20 And of the sons of Immer: Chanani, and Zebadyah.
Unter den Kindern Immer: Hanani und Sebadja.
21 And of the sons of Charim: Ma'asseyah, and Elijah, and Shema'yah, and Jechiel, and 'Uzziyah.
Unter den Kindern Harim: Maeseja, Elia, Semaja, Jehiel und Usia.
22 And of the sons of Pashchur: Elyo'enai, Ma'asseyah. Ishmael, Nethanel, Jozabad, and El'assah.
Unter den Kindern Pashur: Elioenai, Maeseja, Ismael, Nethaneel Josabad und Eleasa.
23 Also of the Levites: Jozabad, and Shim'i, and Kelayan, the same is Kelita, Pethachyah, Judah, and Eli'ezer.
Unter den Leviten: Josabad, Simei und Kelaja (er ist der Klita), Pethahja, Juda und Elieser.
24 And of the singers, Elyashib; and of the gate-keepers, Shallum, and Telem, and Uri.
Unter den Sängern: Eliasib. Unter den Torhütern: Sallum, Telem und Uri.
25 And of Israel: Of the sons of Par'osh, Ramyah, and Yizziyah, and Malkiyah, and Miyamin, and El'azar, and Malkiyah, and Benayah.
Von Israel unter den Kindern Pareos: Ramaja, Jesia, Malchia, Mejamin, Eleasar, Malchia und Benaja.
26 And of the sons of 'Elam; Matthanyah, Zecharyah, and Jechiel, and 'Abdi, and Jeremoth, and Eliyah.
Unter den Kindern Elam: Mathanja, Sacharja, Jehiel, Abdi, Jeremoth und Elia.
27 And of the sons of Zatthu: Elyo'enai, Elyashib, Matthanyah, and Jeremoth, and Zabad, and 'Aziza.
Unter den Kindern Sathu: Elioenai, Eliasib, Mathanja, Jeremoth, Sabad und Asisa.
28 And of the sons of Bebai: Jehochanan, Chananyah, Zabbai, and 'Athlai.
Unter den Kindern Bebai: Johanan, Hananja, Sabai und Athlai.
29 And of the sons of Bani: Meshullam, Malluch, and 'Adayah, Jashub, and Sheal, and Ramoth.
Unter den Kindern Bani: Mesullam, Malluch, Adaja, Jasub, Seal und Jeramoth.
30 And of the sons of Pachath-moab: 'Adna, and Kelal, Benayah, Ma'asseyah, Matthanyah, Bezalel, and Binnui, and Menasseh.
Unter den Kindern Pahath-Moab: Adna, Chelal, Benaja, Maeseja, Mathanja, Bezaleel, Benui und Manasse.
31 And of the sons of Charim: Eli'ezer, Yishiyah, Malkiyah, Shema'yah, Shim'on,
Unter den Kindern Harim: Elieser, Jesia, Malchias, Semaja, Simeon,
32 Benjamin, Malluch, and Shemaryah.
Benjamin, Malluch und Semarja.
33 Of the sons of Chashum: Matthenai, Matthathah, Zabad, Eliphelet, Jeremai, Menasseh, and Shim'i.
Unter den Kindern Hasum: Mathnai, Mathatha, Sabad, Eliphelet, Jeremai, Manasse und Simei.
34 Of the sons of Bani: Ma'adai, 'Amram, and Uel,
Unter den Kindern Bani: Maedai, Amram, Huel,
35 Benayah, Bedeyah, Keluhu,
Benaja, Bedja, Chelui,
36 Vanyah, Meremoth, Elyashib,
Naja, Meremoth, Eliasib,
37 Matthanyah, Matthenai, and Ja'assai,
Mathanja, Mathnai, Jaesan,
38 And Bani, and Binnui, and Shim'i,
Bani, Benui, Simei,
39 And Shelemyah, and Nathan, and 'Adayah,
Selemja, Nathan, Adaja,
40 Machnadbai, Shashai, Sharai,
Machnadbai, Sasai, Sarai,
41 'Asar'el, and Shelemyahu, Shemaryah,
Asareel, Selemja, Samarja,
42 Shallum, Amaryah, and Joseph.

43 Of the sons of Nebo: Je'iel, Matthithyah, Zabad, Zebina, Jaddai, and Joel, Benayah.
Unter den Kindern Nebo: Jeiel, Mathithja, Sabad, Sebina, Jaddai, Joel und Benaja.
44 All these had taken strange wives; and some of them had wives by whom they had children.
Diese hatten alle fremde Weiber genommen; und waren etliche unter denselben Weibern, die Kinder getragen hatten.
