Leviticus 4
1 And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying,
Le Seigneur parla à Moïse, et il lui dit:
2 Speak to the children of Israel, saying, If a soul shall sin unwillingly before the Lord, in any of the commandments of the Lord concerning things which he ought not to do, and shall do some of them;
Parle aux fils d'Israël, et dis-leur: Si une âme pèche involontairement contre l'un des commandements du Seigneur, et fait quelqu'une des choses que l'on ne doit pas faire;
3 if the anointed priest sin so as to cause the people to sin, then shall he bring for his sin, which he has sinned, an unblemished calf of the herd to the Lord for his sin.
Si de son côté, l'oint, le grand prêtre pèche, de manière à induire le peuple en péché, le grand prêtre amènera au Seigneur, pour racheter la faute qu'il aura commise, un veau sans tache pour le péché;
4 And he shall bring the calf to the door of the tabernacle of witness before the Lord, and he shall put his hand on the head of the calf before the Lord, and shall kill the calf in the presence of the Lord.
Il amènera le veau, en présence du Seigneur devant la porte du tabernacle du témoignage, il imposera ses mains sur la tête du veau en présence du Seigneur, et il égorgera le veau en présence, du Seigneur.
5 And the anointed priest who has been consecrated having received of the blood of the calf, shall then bring it into the tabernacle of witness.
Ensuite l'oint, le prêtre, dont les mains ont été consacrées, prenant du sang de la victime, le portera dans le tabernacle du témoignage.
6 And the priest shall dip his finger into the blood, and sprinkle of the blood seven times before the Lord, over against the holy veil.
Le prêtre trempera son doigt dans le sang, et avec le sang, il fera sept aspersions, en présence du Seigneur, devant le voile du sanctuaire.
7 And the priest shall put of the blood of the calf on the horns of the altar of the compound incense which is before the Lord, which is in the tabernacle of witness; and all the blood of the calf shall he pour out by the foot of the altar of whole burnt offerings, which is by the doors of the tabernacle of witness.
Et le prêtre mettra du sang de la victime sur les cornes de l'autel de l'encens composé, qui est devant le Seigneur, dans l'intérieur du tabernacle du témoignage. Ensuite, il répandra tout le sang du veau près de la base de l'autel des holocaustes, qui est devant la porte du tabernacle du témoignage.
8 and all the fat of the calf of the sin-offering shall he take off from it; the fat that covers the inwards, and all the fat that is on the inwards,
Puis, il enlèvera toute la graisse du veau offert pour le péché: la graisse qui enveloppe les entrailles, la graisse qui est dans les entrailles,
9 and the two kidneys, and the fat that is upon them, which is on the thighs, and the caul that is on the liver with the kidneys, them shall he take away,
Les deux rognons avec la graisse qui les entoure, celle des cuisses, et le lobe du foie qu'il aura enlevé avec les rognons,
10 as he takes it away from the calf of the sacrifice of peace-offering, so shall the priest offer it on the altar of burnt offering.
De la même manière qu'il enlève la graisse de l'hostie pacifique, et il la portera sur l'autel de l'holocauste.
11 And [they shall take] the skin of the calf, and all his flesh with the head and the extremities and the belly and the dung,
Quant à la peau du veau et toute sa chair, avec la tête, les extrémités, les intestins et la fiente,
12 and they shall carry out the whole calf out of the camp into a clean place, where they pour out the ashes, and they shall consume it there on wood with fire: it shall be burnt on the ashes poured out.
Et le veau tout entier, on les portera hors du camp en un espace nettoyé, là où l'on met la cendre, et on le brûlera sur un bûcher enflammé sur la cendre répandue au lieu ou il sera brûlé.
13 And if the whole congregation of Israel trespass ignorantly, and a thing should escape the notice of the congregation, and they should do one thing forbidden of any of the commands of the Lord, which ought not to be done, and should transgress:
Mais si quelque cérémonie sacrée est omise involontairement par toute la synagogue d'Israël, s'ils font contre l'un des commandements du Seigneur une chose qui ne doive pas être faite, et pèchent,
14 and the sin wherein they have sinned should become known to them, then shall the congregation bring an unblemished calf of the herd for a sin-offering, and they shall bring it to the doors of the tabernacle of witness.
Et que le péché qu'ils ont commis vienne à être connu, toute la synagogue amènera pareillement un veau sans tache, pris parmi les bœufs, pour le péché, et il le présentera devant la porte du tabernacle du témoignage.
15 And the elders of the congregation shall lay their hands on the head of the calf before the Lord, and they shall kill the calf before the Lord.
Les anciens de la synagogue imposeront leurs mains sur la tête de l'hostie, devant le Seigneur, et on égorgera le veau devant le Seigneur,
16 And the anointed priest shall bring in of the blood of the calf into the tabernacle of witness.
Puis, l'oint, le prêtre portera du sang du veau dans le tabernacle du témoignage.
17 And the priest shall dip his finger into some of the blood of the calf, and shall sprinkle it seven times before the Lord, in front of the veil of the sanctuary.
Le prêtre trempera son doigt dans le sang du veau, et il fera sept aspersions en présence du Seigneur, en face du voile du sanctuaire.
18 And the priest shall put some of the blood on the horns of the altar of the incense of composition, which is before the Lord, which is in the tabernacle of witness; and he shall pour out all the blood at the bottom of the altar of whole burnt offerings, which is by the door of the tabernacle of witness.
Le prêtre mettra du sang sur les cornes de l'autel de l'encens composé qui est devant le Seigneur, dans l'intérieur du tabernacle; ensuite, il répandra tout le sang du veau près de la base de l'autel des holocaustes, qui est devant la porte du tabernacle du témoignage.
19 And he shall take away all the fat from it, and shall offer it up on the altar.
Il enlèvera du veau toute la graisse, qu'il portera sur l'autel,
20 And he shall do to the calf as he did to the calf of the sin-offering, so shall it be done; and the priest shall make atonement for them, and the trespass shall be forgiven them.
Et il fera du veau comme il a fait du veau offert pour le péché: ainsi fera-t-il, et le prêtre priera pour eux, et leur péché leur sera remis.
21 And they shall carry forth the calf whole without the camp, and they shall burn the calf as they burnt the former calf: it is the sin-offering of the congregation.
Ils porteront ensuite tout le veau hors du camp, et ils le brûleront tout entier comme ils auront brûlé le premier veau: c'est le péché de tout le peuple.
22 And if a ruler sin, and break one of all the commands of the Lord his God, [doing the thing] which ought not to be done, unwillingly, and shall sin and trespass,
Si un prince a péché: s'il a fait contre l'un des commandements du Seigneur son Dieu, involontairement, une chose qui ne doive pas être faite, s'il a commis un un péché ou un délit;
23 and his trespass wherein he has sinned, be known to him, then shall he offer for his gift a kid of the goats, a male without blemish.
Si le péché dans lequel il est tombé, vient à lui être connu, il présentera pour offrande un bouc, pris parmi les chèvres, et sans tache;
24 And he shall lay his hand on the head of the kid, and they shall kill it in the place where they kill the [victims for] whole burnt offerings before the Lord; it is a sin-offering.
Il imposera la main sur la tête du bouc, et on l'égorgera dans le lieu où l'on égorge les victimes d'holocauste devant le Seigneur: c'est le péché.
25 And the priest shall put some of the blood of the sin-offering with his finger on the horns of the altar of whole burnt offering; and he shall pour out all its blood by the bottom of the altar of whole burnt offerings.
Ensuite, le prêtre, avec son doigt, mettra du sang du péché sur les cornes de l'autel des holocaustes, et il répandra tout le sang au pied de l'autel des holocaustes.
26 And he shall offer up all his fat on the altar, as the fat of the sacrifice of peace-offering; and the priest shall make atonement for him concerning his sin, and it shall be forgiven him.
Puis, il portera toute la graisse sur l'autel, comme on fait pour la graisse d'une hostie pacifique, et le prêtre priera pour lui au sujet de son péché qui lui sera remis.
27 And if a soul of the people of the land should sin unwillingly, in doing a thing [contrary to] any of the commandments of the Lord, which ought not to be done, and shall transgress,
Si, parmi le peuple, une âme pèche involontairement en faisant, contre les commandements de Dieu, quelque chose que l'on ne doit pas faire, et commet un péché.
28 and his sin should be known to him, wherein he has sinned, then shall he bring a kid of the goats, a female without blemish shall he bring for his sin, which he has sinned.
Si le péché dans lequel elle est tombée, vient à lui être connu, elle portera pareillement une hostie du troupeau de chèvres; elle offrira une femelle sans tache pour le péché qu'elle aura commis.
29 And he shall lay his hand on the head of his sin-offering, and they shall kill the kid of the sin-offering in the place where they kill the [victims for] whole burnt offerings.
Et elle imposera la main sur la tête de son péché, et l'on égorgera la chèvre du délit au lieu où l'on égorge les victimes d'holocauste.
30 And the priest shall take of its blood with his finger, and shall put it on the horns of the altar of whole burnt offerings; and all its blood he shall pour forth by the foot of the altar.
Le prêtre ensuite prendra de son sang avec le doigt, il en mettra sur les cornes de l'autel des holocaustes, et il répandra tout le sang au pied de l'autel.
31 And he shall take away all the fat, as the fat is taken away from the sacrifice of peace-offering, and the priest shall offer it on the altar for a smell of sweet savor to the Lord; and the priest shall make atonement for him, and [his sin] shall be forgiven him.
Puis, il enlèvera toute la graisse, comme on enlève la graisse d'une hostie pacifique, et il la portera sur l'autel; pour être au Seigneur une odeur de suavité. Et le prêtre priera pour cette âme, et son péché lui sera remis.
32 And if he should offer a lamb for his sin-offering, he shall offer it a female without blemish.
Si l'offrande qu'elle apporte, pour son péché, est prise parmi les brebis, ce sera une femelle sans tache qu'elle devra offrir.
33 And he shall lay his hand on the head of the sin-offerings, and they shall kill it in the place where they kill the [victims for] whole burnt offerings.
L'homme imposera les mains sur la tête de son péché, et l'on égorgera l'hostie dans le lieu ou l'on égorge les victimes d'holocauste.
34 And the priest shall take of the blood of the sin-offering with his finger, and shall put it on the horns of the altar of whole burnt offerings, and he shall pour out all its blood by the bottom of the altar of whole burnt offering.
Ensuite, le prêtre ayant pris avec le doigt du sang du péché, en mettra sur les cornes de l'autel des holocaustes, et il répandra tout le sang au pied de l'autel des holocaustes.
35 And he shall take away all his fat, as the fat of the lamb of the sacrifice of peace-offering is taken away, and the priest shall put it on the altar for a whole burnt offering to the Lord; and the priest shall make atonement for him for the sin which he sinned, and it shall be forgiven him.
Puis, il enlèvera toute la graisse, comme on enlève la graisse d'une hostie pacifique, et il la mettra sur l'autel, sur l'holocauste du Seigneur. Et le prêtre priera pour cet homme au sujet du péché qu'il aura commis, lequel lui sera remis.
