Osee 2
1 Say to your brother, My people, and to your sister, Pitied.
Dites à votre frère, Mon-Peuple, et à votre sœur Pitié:
2 Plead with your mother, plead: for she is not my wife, and I am not her husband: and I will remove her fornication out of my presence, and her adultery from between her breasts:
Plaidez contre votre mère; car elle n'est point Ma femme, et Je ne suis point son Mari. Et J'ôterai de devant Ma face sa prostitution, et son adultère du milieu de ses mamelles,
3 that I may strip her naked, and make her again as she was at the day of her birth: and I will make her desolate, and make her as a dry land, and will kill her with thirst.
afin de la mettre nue, et de la remettre comme elle était le jour de sa naissance; et Je ferai d'elle un désert, et Je la traiterai comme une terre aride; et Je la tuerai par la soif;
4 And I will not have mercy upon her children; for they are children of fornication.
et Je n'aurai point pitié de ses enfants; car ce sont des enfants de prostitution.
5 And their mother went a-whoring: she that bore them disgraced [them]: for she said, I will go after my lovers, that give me my bread and my water, and my garments, and my linen clothes, my oil and my necessaries.
Leur mère s'est prostituée; celle qui les a portés les a couverts de honte; elle a dit: Je m'en irai après mes amants qui me donnent mon pain, et mon eau, et mes vêtements, et mon linge, et mon huile, et tout ce qui m'est nécessaire.
6 Therefore, behold, I hedge up her way with thorns, and I will stop the ways, and she shall not find her path.
C'est pourquoi Je ferme sa voie avec des épines, et Je bâtirai sur ses routes; elle ne retrouvera plus son sentier.
7 And she shall follow after her lovers, and shall not overtake them; and she shall seek them, but shall not find them: and she shall say, I will go, and return to my former husband; for it was better with me than now.
Elle poursuivra ses amants, et ne les atteindra pas; elle les cherchera, et ne les trouvera pas; Et elle dira: Je vais partir, je vais retourner auprès de mon premier mari; car, pour moi, il faisait meilleur alors que maintenant.
8 And she knew not that I gave her her corn, and wine, and oil, and multiplied silver to her: but she made silver and gold [images] for Baal.
Et elle n'a point connu que Je lui avais donné du pain, du vin et de l'huile, et que Je l'avais comblée d'argent, et elle a fait à Baal des idoles d'argent et d'or.
9 Therefore I will return, and take away my corn in its season, and my wine in its time; and I will take away my raiment and my linen clothes, so that she shall not cover her nakedness.
À cause de cela, Je M'en retournerai, Je prendrai Mon blé lors de la moisson, et Mon vin lors de la vendange; et Je reprendrai Mes vêtements et Mon linge, pour ne plus couvrir sa nudité.
10 And now I will expose her uncleanness before her lovers, and no one shall by any means deliver her out of my hand.
Et désormais Je révélerai à ses amants son impureté, et nul ne la délivrera de Mes mains.
11 And I will take away all her gladness, her feasts, and her festivals at the new moon, and her sabbaths, and all her solemn assemblies.
Et Je supprimerai toutes ses joies, toutes ses fêtes, toutes ses nouvelles lunes, ses sabbats et toutes ses solennités.
12 And I will utterly destroy her vines, and her fig-trees, all things of which she said, These are my hire which my lovers have given me: and I will make them a testimony, and the wild beasts of the field, and the birds of the sky, and the reptiles of the earth shall devour them.
Et Je détruirai sa vigne et ses figuiers, parce qu'elle a dit: Ce sont les salaires que m'ont donné mes amants. Et Moi, J'en ferai un témoignage; les bêtes des champs viendront y paître, et les oiseaux du ciel, et les reptiles de la terre.
13 And I will recompense on her the days of Baalim, wherein she sacrificed to them, and put on her ear-rings, and her necklaces, and went after her lovers, and forgot me, says the Lord.
Je lui ferai expier les jours où elle a sacrifié à Baal, et où elle a mis ses pendants d'oreilles et ses colliers pour s'en aller après son amant. Et elle M'a oublié, dit le Seigneur.
14 Therefore, behold, I [will] cause her to err, and will make her as desolate, and will speak comfortably to her.
C'est pourquoi Je l'égarerai et Je l'enverrai dans le désert, et je parlerai à son cœur.
15 And I will giver her possessions from thence, and the valley of Achor to open her understanding: and she shall be afflicted there according to the days of her infancy, and according to the days of her coming up out of the land of Egypt.
Et de là Je lui rendrai ses possessions et la vallée d'Achor, pour lui ouvrir l'intelligence. Et là elle s'humiliera autant de jours qu'a duré sa jeunesse, et autant de jours qu'elle a mis à revenir de la terre d'Égypte.
16 And it shall come to pass in that day, says the Lord, [that] she shall call me, My husband, and shall no longer call me Baalim.
Et ceci arrivera en ce jour-là, dit le Seigneur; elle M'appellera Mon époux, et elle ne M'appellera plus Baal.
17 And I will take away the names of Baalim out of her mouth, and their names shall be remembered no more at all.
Et J'ôterai de sa bouche les noms de Baal, et l'on ne s'en souviendra plus.
18 And I will make for them in that day a covenant with the wild beasts of the field, and with the birds of the sky, and with the reptiles of the earth: and I will break the bow and the sword and the battle from off the earth, and will cause you to dwell safely.
Et en ce jour-là J'établirai une alliance entre eux et les bêtes sauvages, et les oiseaux du ciel, et les reptiles de la terre; et Je briserai sur la terre l'arc, le glaive et les armes de guerre, et Je t'y installerai avec l'espérance.
19 And I will betroth you to myself for ever; yes, I will betroth you to myself in righteousness, and in judgment, and in mercy, and in tender compassions;
Et Je te prendrai pour épouse dans tous les siècles, et Je te prendrai pour épouse en Mon équité, en Mes jugements, en Ma pitié, en Ma miséricorde.
20 and I will betroth you to myself in faithfulness: and you shall know the Lord.
Et Je te prendrai pour épouse avec confiance, et tu reconnaîtras le Seigneur.
21 And it shall come to pass in that day, says the Lord, I will listen to the heaven, and it shall listen to the earth;
Et il arrivera en ce jour-là, dit le Seigneur, que J'exaucerai le ciel, et le ciel exaucera la terre.
22 and the earth shall listen to the corn, and the wine, and the oil; and they shall listen to Jezrael.
Et la terre exaucera le blé, et le vin, et l'huile, et toutes ces choses exauceront Jezraël.
23 And I will sow her to me on the earth; and will love her that was not loved, and will say to that which was not my people, You are my people; and they shall say, You are the Lord my God.
Et Je la sèmerai pour moi sur la terre, et J'aimerai celle que Je n'aimais pas. Et Je dirai à Non-Mon-Peuple: Tu es Mon peuple; et il dira: Tu es le Seigneur mon Dieu.
