Psalms 5
1 To the chief Musician upon Nehiloth, A Psalm of David. Give ear to my words, O LORD, consider my (meditation)
Au maître chantre. Avec les flûtes. Cantique de David, Prête l'oreille à mes paroles, Éternel! sois attentif à mes soupirs!
2 Hearken unto the voice of my cry, my King, and my God: for unto thee will I pray.
Ecoute ma voix qui appelle, ô mon Roi! ô mon Dieu! car c'est toi que je prie.
3 My voice shalt thou hear in the morning, O LORD; in the morning will I direct [my prayer] unto thee, and will look up.
Éternel, dès le matin tu entends ma voix, dès le matin je me tourne vers toi, et j'attends.
4 For thou [art] not a God that hath pleasure in wickedness: neither shall evil dwell with thee.
Car tu n'es point un Dieu qui aime l'impiété; le méchant chez toi n'est point accueilli;
5 The foolish shall not stand in thy sight: thou hatest all workers of iniquity.
les superbes n'osent paraître à tes yeux; tu hais tous ceux qui font le mal;
6 Thou shalt destroy them that speak leasing: the LORD will abhor the bloody and deceitful man.
tu détruis les menteurs, et les hommes de sang et de fraude, l'Éternel les abhorre.
7 But as for me, I will come [into] thy house in the multitude of thy mercy: [and] in thy fear will I worship toward thy holy temple.
Mais moi, par ton grand amour, je viens dans ta maison, je me prosterne dans ton saint temple, en ta crainte.
8 Lead me, O LORD, in thy righteousness because of mine enemies; make thy way straight before my face.
Éternel, fais-moi marcher dans ta justice, à cause de mes ennemis! Aplanis devant moi ta voie!
9 For [there is] no faithfulness in their mouth; their inward part [is] very wickedness; their throat [is] an open sepulchre; they flatter with their tongue.
Car dans leur bouche il n'y a point de vérité, dans leur cœur, c'est envie de nuire, leur gosier est un sépulcre ouvert, et ils rendent leur langue flatteuse.
10 Destroy thou them, O God; let them fall by their own counsels; cast them out in the multitude of their transgressions; for they have rebelled against thee.
Punis-les, ô Dieu! déjoue leurs projets! A cause de leurs nombreux crimes, renverse-les! car ils se rebellent contre toi.
11 But let all those that put their trust in thee rejoice: let them ever shout for joy, because thou defendest them: let them also that love thy name be joyful in thee.
Alors se réjouiront tous ceux qui se confient en toi; et ils te célébreront à jamais, parce que tu les protèges; et tu seras l'allégresse de tous ceux qui aiment ton nom.
12 For thou, LORD, wilt bless the righteous; with favour wilt thou compass him as [with] a shield.
Car tu bénis le juste, ô Éternel; comme d'un bouclier tu l'entoures de grâce.
