Proverbs 27
1 Boast not thyself of to morrow; for thou knowest not what a day may bring forth.
なんぢ明日のことを誇るなかれ そは一日の生ずるところの如何なるを知ざればなり
2 Let another man praise thee, and not thine own mouth; a stranger, and not thine own lips.
汝おのれの口をもて自ら讃むることなく人をして己を讃めしめよ 自己の口唇をもてせず 他人をして己をほめしめよ
3 A stone [is] heavy, and the sand weighty; but a fool’s wrath [is] heavier than them both.
石は重く沙は軽からず 然ど愚なる者の怒はこの二よりも重し
4 Wrath [is] cruel, and anger [is] outrageous; but who [is] able to stand before envy?
忿怒は猛く憤恨は烈し されど嫉妬の前には誰か立ことをを得ん
5 Open rebuke [is] better than secret love.
明白に譴むるに秘に愛するに愈る
6 Faithful [are] the wounds of a friend; but the kisses of an enemy [are] deceitful.
愛する者の傷つくるは眞実よりし 敵の接吻するは偽詐よりするなり
7 The full soul loatheth an honeycomb; but to the hungry soul every bitter thing is sweet.
飽るものは蜂の蜜をも踐つく されど飢たる者には苦き物さへもすべて甘し
8 As a bird that wandereth from her nest, so [is] a man that wandereth from his place.
その家を離れてさまよふ人は その巣を離れてさまよふ鳥のごとし
9 Ointment and perfume rejoice the heart: so [doth] the sweetness of a man’s friend by hearty counsel.
膏と香とは人の心をよろこばすなり 心よりして勧言を與ふる友の美しきもまた斯のごとし
10 Thine own friend, and thy father’s friend, forsake not; neither go into thy brother’s house in the day of thy calamity: [for] better [is] a neighbour [that is] near than a brother far off.
なんぢの友と汝の父の友とを棄るなかれ なんぢ患難にあふ日に兄弟の家にいることなかれ 親しき隣は疏き兄弟に愈れり
11 My son, be wise, and make my heart glad, that I may answer him that reproacheth me.
わが子よ智慧を得てわが心を悦ばせよ 然ば我をそしる者に我こたふることを得ん
12 A prudent [man] foreseeth the evil, [and] hideth himself; [but] the simple pass on, [and] are punished.
賢者は禍害を見てみづから避け 拙者はすすみて罰をうく
13 Take his garment that is surety for a stranger, and take a pledge of him for a strange woman.
人の保證をなす者よりは先その衣をとれ 他人の保證をなす者をば固くとらへよ
14 He that blesseth his friend with a loud voice, rising early in the morning, it shall be counted a curse to him.
晨はやく起て大聲にその隣を祝すれば却て呪詛と見なされん
15 A continual dropping in a very rainy day and a contentious woman are alike.
相争ふ婦は雨ふる日に絶ずある雨漏のごとし
16 Whosoever hideth her hideth the wind, and the ointment of his right hand, [which] bewrayeth [itself].
これを制ふるものは風をおさふるがごとく 右の手に膏をつかむがごとし
17 Iron sharpeneth iron; so a man sharpeneth the countenance of his friend.
鉄は鉄をとぐ 斯のごとくその友の面を研なり
18 Whoso keepeth the fig tree shall eat the fruit thereof: so he that waiteth on his master shall be honoured.
無花果の樹をまもる者はその果をくらふ 主を貴ぶものは響を得
19 As in water face [answereth] to face, so the heart of man to man.
水に照せば面と面と相肖るがごとく 人の心は人の心に似たり
陰府と沈淪とは飽ことなく 人の目もまた飽ことなし (Sheol h7585)
21 [As] the fining pot for silver, and the furnace for gold; so [is] a man to his praise.
坩堝によりて銀をためし鑢によりて金をためし その讃らるる所によりて人をためす
22 Though thou shouldest bray a fool in a mortar among wheat with a pestle, [yet] will not his foolishness depart from him.
なんぢ愚なる者を臼にいれ杵をもて麥と偕にこれを搗ともその愚は去らざるなり
23 Be thou diligent to know the state of thy flocks, [and] look well to thy herds.
なんぢの羊の状況をよく知り なんぢの群に心を留めよ
24 For riches [are] not for ever: and doth the crown [endure] to every generation?
富は永く保つものにあらず いかで位は世々にたもたん
25 The hay appeareth, and the tender grass sheweth itself, and herbs of the mountains are gathered.
艸枯れ苗いで山の蔬菜あつめらる
26 The lambs [are] for thy clothing, and the goats [are] the price of the field.
羔羊はなんぢの衣服を出し 牝羊は田圃を買ふ價となり
27 And [thou shalt have] goats’ milk enough for thy food, for the food of thy household, and [for] the maintenance for thy maidens.
牝羊の乳はおほくして汝となんぢの家人の糧となり汝の女をやしなふにたる
