< Hosea 9 >
1 Rejoice not, O Israel, for joy, as [other] people: for thou hast gone a whoring from thy God, thou hast loved a reward upon every cornfloor.
Nni ahurusi, Israel; nsɛpɛw wo ho te sɛ aman a aka no. Efisɛ woanni wo Nyankopɔn nokware, wʼani gye aguamammɔ ho wɔ awiporowbea nyinaa so.
2 The floor and the winepress shall not feed them, and the new wine shall fail in her.
Awiporowbea ne nsakyiamoa rentumi mma nnipa no aduan; nsa foforo nso bɛbɔ wɔn.
3 They shall not dwell in the LORD’s land; but Ephraim shall return to Egypt, and they shall eat unclean [things] in Assyria.
Wɔrentena Awurade asase no so bio; Efraim bɛsan akɔ Misraim na wadi aduan a ɛho ntew wɔ Asiria.
4 They shall not offer wine [offerings] to the LORD, neither shall they be pleasing unto him: their sacrifices [shall be] unto them as the bread of mourners; all that eat thereof shall be polluted: for their bread for their soul shall not come into the house of the LORD.
Wɔremmɔ ahwiesa afɔre mma Awurade, na wɔn afɔrebɔ nso nsɔ nʼani. Saa afɔrebɔ yi bɛyɛ sɛ asufo brodo de ama wɔn; wɔn a wodi nyinaa ho begu fi. Saa aduan no bɛyɛ wɔn ankasa dea na wɔrentumi mmfa nkɔ Awurade asɔredan mu.
5 What will ye do in the solemn day, and in the day of the feast of the LORD?
Dɛn na mobɛyɛ wɔ mo aponto da no ne Awurade afahyɛnna no nso?
6 For, lo, they are gone because of destruction: Egypt shall gather them up, Memphis shall bury them: the pleasant [places] for their silver, nettles shall possess them: thorns [shall be] in their tabernacles.
Mpo sɛ woguan fi ɔsɛe mu a Misraim bɛboaboa wɔn ano, na Memfis besie wɔn. Wɔn dwetɛ ahonyade befuw wura, na wɔn ntamadan adan nsɔe.
7 The days of visitation are come, the days of recompence are come; Israel shall know [it: ] the prophet [is] a fool, the spiritual man [is] mad, for the multitude of thine iniquity, and the great hatred.
Asotwe nna no reba, akontaabu nna no adu; ma Israel nhu eyi. Esiane mo bɔne bebrebe ne mo akokoakoko a adɔɔso nti mofa no sɛ odiyifo yɛ kwasea, na nea honhom akanyan no no yɛ ɔbɔdamfo.
8 The watchman of Ephraim [was] with my God: [but] the prophet [is] a snare of a fowler in all his ways, [and] hatred in the house of his God.
Odiyifo no ne me Nyankopɔn yɛ Efraim so wɛmfo, nanso wɔasum no afiri wɔ nʼakwan nyinaa so, na ɔtan ahyɛ ne Nyankopɔn fi ma.
9 They have deeply corrupted [themselves], as in the days of Gibeah: [therefore] he will remember their iniquity, he will visit their sins.
Wɔadu porɔwee bun mu, sɛnea na ɛte wɔ Gibea nna no mu. Onyankopɔn bɛkae wɔn atirimɔden na watwe wɔn aso wɔ wɔn bɔne ho.
10 I found Israel like grapes in the wilderness; I saw your fathers as the firstripe in the fig tree at her first time: [but] they went to Baal-peor, and separated themselves unto [that] shame; and [their] abominations were according as they loved.
“Bere a mihuu Israel no, na ɛte sɛ nea mahu bobe wɔ nweatam so; bere a mihuu mo agyanom no, na ɛte sɛ nea mahu borɔdɔma aba a edi kan wɔ ne dua so. Nanso bere a wɔbaa Baal-Peor nkyɛn no wodwiraa wɔn ho maa ohoni nimguaseni no. Wɔn ho yɛɛ nwini te sɛ ohoni a wɔdɔ no no ara.
11 [As for] Ephraim, their glory shall fly away like a bird, from the birth, and from the womb, and from the conception.
Efraim anuonyam betu akɔ sɛ anomaa, nyinsɛn ne awo nni ne mu.
12 Though they bring up their children, yet will I bereave them, [that there shall] not [be] a man [left: ] yea, woe also to them when I depart from them!
Mpo sɛ wɔtetew mmofra a, mɛma mmofra no awuwu wɔ wɔn nsa mu. Wonnue, sɛ miyi mʼani fi wɔn so a!
13 Ephraim, as I saw Tyrus, [is] planted in a pleasant place: but Ephraim shall bring forth his children to the murderer.
Mahu Efraim te sɛ Tiro, a ɛda baabi a eye. Nanso Efraim de ne mma bɛbrɛ okumfo no.”
14 Give them, O LORD: what wilt thou give? give them a miscarrying womb and dry breasts.
Fa ma wɔn, Awurade, dɛn na wode bɛma wɔn? Ma wɔn ɔyafunu a ɛpɔn ne nufu a nufusu nni mu.
15 All their wickedness [is] in Gilgal: for there I hated them: for the wickedness of their doings I will drive them out of mine house, I will love them no more: all their princes [are] revolters.
“Wɔn atirimɔdensɛm nyinaa a wodii wɔ Gilgal nti, mefaa wɔn ho tan wɔ hɔ. Wɔn nnebɔne nti mɛpam wɔn afi me fi. Merennɔ wɔn bio; efisɛ wɔn ntuanofo nyinaa yɛ atuatewfo.
16 Ephraim is smitten, their root is dried up, they shall bear no fruit: yea, though they bring forth, yet will I slay [even] the beloved [fruit] of their womb.
Efraim agyigya, wɔn ntin akisa, nti wɔnsow aba. Sɛ wɔwo mma mpo a, mekunkum wɔn mma a wɔdɔ wɔn no.”
17 My God will cast them away, because they did not hearken unto him: and they shall be wanderers among the nations.
Me Nyankopɔn bɛpo wɔn, efisɛ, wɔanyɛ osetie amma no; Wobekyinkyin aman no mu.
