Psalms 107
1 BOOK V 'O give thanks unto the LORD, for He is good, for His mercy endureth for ever.'
Tacken HERREN, ty han är god, ty hans nåd varar evinnerligen.
2 So let the redeemed of the LORD say, whom He hath redeemed from the hand of the adversary;
Så säge HERRENS förlossade, de som han har förlossat ur nöden,
3 And gathered them out of the lands, from the east and from the west, from the north and from the sea.
de som han har församlat ifrån länderna, från öster och från väster, från norr och från havssidan.
4 They wandered in the wilderness in a desert way; they found no city of habitation.
De irrade omkring i öknen på öde stigar, de funno ingen stad där de kunde bo;
5 Hungry and thirsty, their soul fainted in them.
de hungrade och törstade, deras själ försmäktade i dem.
6 Then they cried unto the LORD in their trouble, and He delivered them out of their distresses.
Men de ropade till HERREN i sin nöd, och han räddade dem ur deras trångmål.
7 And He led them by a straight way, that they might go to a city of habitation.
Och han ledde dem på en rätt väg, så att de kommo till en stad där de kunde bo.
8 Let them give thanks unto the LORD for His mercy, and for His wonderful works to the children of men!
De må tacka HERREN för hans nåd och för hans under med människors barn,
9 For He hath satisfied the longing soul, and the hungry soul He hath filled with good.
att han mättade den försmäktande själen och uppfyllde den hungrande själen med sitt goda.
10 Such as sat in darkness and in the shadow of death, being bound in affliction and iron —
De sutto i mörker och dödsskugga, fångna i elände och järnbojor,
11 Because they rebelled against the words of God, and contemned the counsel of the Most High.
därför att de hade varit gensträviga mot Guds ord och hade föraktat den Högstes råd.
12 Therefore He humbled their heart with travail, they stumbled, and there was none to help —
Han kuvade deras hjärtan med olycka; de kommo på fall och hade ingen hjälpare.
13 They cried unto the LORD in their trouble, and He saved them out of their distresses.
Men de ropade till HERREN i sin nöd, och han frälste dem ur deras trångmål;
14 He brought them out of darkness and the shadow of death, and broke their bands in sunder.
han förde dem ut ur mörkret och dödsskuggan, och deras bojor slet han sönder.
15 Let them give thanks unto the LORD for His mercy, and for His wonderful works to the children of men!
De må tacka HERREN för hans nåd och för hans under med människors barn,
16 For He hath broken the gates of brass, and cut the bars of iron in sunder.
att han krossade kopparportarna och bröt sönder järnbommarna.
17 Crazed because of the way of their transgression, and afflicted because of their iniquities —
De voro oförnuftiga, ty de vandrade i överträdelse, och blevo nu plågade för sina missgärningars skull;
18 Their soul abhorred all manner of food, and they drew near unto the gates of death —
deras själ vämjdes vid all mat, och de voro nära dödens portar.
19 They cried unto the LORD in their trouble, and He saved them out of their distresses;
Men de ropade till HERREN i sin nöd, och han frälste dem ur deras trångmål.
20 He sent His word, and healed them, and delivered them from their graves.
Han sände sitt ord och botade dem och räddade dem från graven.
21 Let them give thanks unto the LORD for His mercy, and for His wonderful works to the children of men!
De må tacka HERREN för hans nåd och för hans under med människors barn;
22 And let them offer the sacrifices of thanksgiving, and declare His works with singing.
de må offra lovets offer och förtälja hans verk med jubel.
23 They that go down to the sea in ships, that do business in great waters —
De foro på havet med skepp och drevo sin handel på stora vatten;
24 These saw the works of the LORD, and His wonders in the deep;
där fingo de se HERRENS gärningar och hans under på havsdjupet.
25 For He commanded, and raised the stormy wind, which lifted up the waves thereof;
Med sitt ord uppväckte han stormvinden, så att den hävde upp dess böljor.
26 They mounted up to the heaven, they went down to the deeps; their soul melted away because of trouble;
De foro upp mot himmelen, ned i djupen; deras själ upplöstes av ångest.
27 They reeled to and fro, and staggered like a drunken man, and all their wisdom was swallowed up —
De raglade och stapplade såsom druckna, och all deras vishet blev till intet.
28 They cried unto the LORD in their trouble, and He brought them out of their distresses.
Men de ropade till HERREN i sin nöd, och han förde dem ut ur deras trångmål.
29 He made the storm a calm, so that the waves thereof were still.
Han förbytte stormen i lugn, så att böljorna omkring dem tystnade.
30 Then were they glad because they were quiet, and He led them unto their desired haven.
Och de blevo glada att det vart stilla, och han förde dem till den hamn dit de ville.
31 Let them give thanks unto the LORD for His mercy, and for His wonderful works to the children of men!
De må tacka HERREN för hans nåd och för hans under med människors barn;
32 Let them exalt Him also in the assembly of the people, and praise Him in the seat of the elders.
de må upphöja honom i folkets församling och lova honom där de äldste sitta.
33 He turneth rivers into a wilderness, and watersprings into a thirsty ground;
Han gjorde strömmar till öken, källsprång till torr mark,
34 A fruitful land into a salt waste, for the wickedness of them that dwell therein.
bördigt land till salthed, för dess inbyggares ondskas skull.
35 He turneth a wilderness into a pool of water, and a dry land into watersprings.
Han gjorde öknen till en vattenrik sjö och torrt land till källsprång.
36 And there He maketh the hungry to dwell, and they establish a city of habitation;
Och han lät de hungrande bo där, och de byggde en stad där de kunde bo.
37 And sow fields, and plant vineyards, which yield fruits of increase.
De besådde åkrar och planterade vingårdar, som gåvo dem sin frukt i avkastning.
38 He blesseth them also, so that they are multiplied greatly, and suffereth not their cattle to decrease.
Han välsignade dem, och de förökades storligen, och deras boskapshjordar lät han icke förminskas.
39 Again, they are minished and dwindle away through oppression of evil and sorrow.
Väl blevo de sedan ringa och nedböjda, i det olycka och bedrövelse tryckte dem,
40 He poureth contempt upon princes, and causeth them to wander in the waste, where there is no way.
men han som utgjuter förakt över furstar och låter dem irra omkring i väglösa ödemarker,
41 Yet setteth He the needy on high from affliction, and maketh his families like a flock.
han upphöjde då den fattige ur eländet och lät släkterna växa till såsom fårhjordar.
42 The upright see it, and are glad; and all iniquity stoppeth her mouth.
De redliga se det och glädja sig, och all orättfärdighet måste tillsluta sin mun.
43 Whoso is wise, let him observe these things, and let them consider the mercies of the LORD.
Den som är vis, han akte härpå och besinne HERRENS nådegärningar.
