Daniel 11
1 And as for me, in the first year of Darius the Mede, I stood up to be a supporter and a stronghold unto him.
Yo también, en el primer año de Darío de Mede estaba de su lado para asegurar su posición y hacerlo fuerte.
2 And now will I declare unto thee the truth. Behold, there shall stand up yet three kings in Persia; and the fourth shall be far richer than they all; and when he is waxed strong through his riches, he shall stir up all against the realm of Greece.
Y ahora te declararé lo que es verdad. Todavía hay tres reyes por venir en Persia, y el cuarto tendrá una riqueza mucho mayor que todos ellos; y cuando se haya fortalecido a través de su riqueza, pondrá sus fuerzas en movimiento contra todos los reinos de Grecia.
3 And a mighty king shall stand up, that shall rule with great dominion, and do according to his will.
Y un rey fuerte llegará al poder, gobernando con gran autoridad y haciendo lo que le plazca.
4 And when he shall stand up, his kingdom shall be broken, and shall be divided toward the four winds of heaven; but not to his posterity, nor according to his dominion wherewith he ruled; for his kingdom shall be plucked up, even for others beside those.
Y cuando se haya fortalecido, su reino será quebrantado y separado a los cuatro vientos del cielo; pero no a su descendencia, porque será desarraigada; ni según él señorío que él ejerció y su reino será para los demás y no para estos.
5 And the king of the south shall be strong, and one of his princes; and he shall be strong above him, and have dominion; his dominion shall be a great dominion.
Y el rey del sur será fuerte, pero uno de sus capitanes será más fuerte que él y será gobernante; y su dominio será una gran dominio.
6 And at the end of years they shall join themselves together; and the daughter of the king of the south shall come to the king of the north to make an agreement; but she shall not retain the strength of her arm; neither shall he stand, nor his arm; but she shall be given up, and they that brought her, and he that begot her, and he that obtained her in those times.
Y al final de los años se unirán; y la hija del rey del sur vendrá al rey del norte para llegar a un acuerdo, pero no mantendrá la fuerza de su brazo; y su descendencia no mantendrá su lugar; pero ella será desarraigada, con aquellos que fueron la causa de su venida, y quién la engendró, y el que la fortaleció en esos tiempos.
7 But one of the shoots of her roots shall stand up in his place, and shall come unto the army, and shall enter into the stronghold of the king of the north, and shall deal with them, and shall prevail;
Pero de una rama de sus raíces se levantará para tomar su lugar, quién vendrá contra el ejército, forzando su camino hacia el lugar fuerte del rey del norte, y luchará contra ellos y prevalecerá:
8 and also their gods, with their molten images, and with their precious vessels of silver and of gold, shall he bring into captivity into Egypt; and he shall desist some years from the king of the north.
Y llevará a sus dioses y sus imágenes de metal y sus bellas vasijas de plata y oro a Egipto; y por algunos años se mantendrá alejado del rey del norte.
9 And he shall come into the kingdom of the king of the south, but he shall return into his own land.
Y vendrá al reino del rey del sur, pero volverá a su tierra.
10 And his sons shall stir themselves up, and shall assemble a multitude of great forces, and he shall come on, and overflow, as he passes through; and he shall return and stir himself up, even to his stronghold.
Y sus hijos harán la guerra, y reunieron un ejército de grandes fuerzas, y lo atacará, inundando y pasará adelante; y volverá a llevar la guerra incluso a su fortaleza.
11 And the king of the south shall be moved with choler, and shall come forth and fight with him, even with the king of the north; and he shall set forth a great multitude, but the multitude shall be given into his hand.
Y el rey del sur se moverá con ira, y saldrá y hará guerra contra él, en este mismo rey del norte; y él reunirá un gran ejército, pero el ejército será entregado a su mano.
12 and the multitude shall be carried away, and his heart shall be lifted up; and he shall cast down tens of thousands; but he shall not prevail.
Y el ejército será quitado, y su corazón se llenará de orgullo; él será la causa de la caída de miles, pero no prevalecerá.
13 And the king of the north shall again set forth a multitude, greater than the former; and he shall come on at the end of the times, even of years, with a great army and with much substance.
Y nuevamente el rey del norte reunirá un ejército mayor que el primero; y lo atacará al final de los años, con un gran ejército y mucha riqueza.
14 And in those times there shall many stand up against the king of the south; also the children of the violent among thy people shall lift themselves up to establish the vision; but they shall stumble.
En aquellos tiempos, un número tomará las armas contra el rey del sur; y los hijos de los violentos entre tu pueblo se levantarán para hacer realidad la visión; pero será su caída.
15 And the king of the north shall come, and cast up a mound, and take a well-fortified city; and the arms of the south shall not withstand; and as for his chosen people, there shall be no strength in them to withstand.
Entonces vendrá el rey del norte, construirá una rampa y tomará una ciudad de las más fortificadas; y las fuerzas del rey del sur harán un intento por mantener su posición, incluso lo mejor de su ejército, pero no tendrán fuerzas para resistir.
16 But he that cometh against him shall do according to his own will, and none shall stand before him; and he shall stand in the beauteous land, and in his hand shall be extermination.
Y el que viene contra él hará lo que le plazca, y nadie podrá mantener su lugar delante de él; tomará su posición en la Tierra hermosa, y en su poder será consumida.
17 And he shall set his face to come with the strength of his whole kingdom, but shall make an agreement with him; and he shall give him the daughter of women, to destroy it; but it shall not stand, neither be for him.
Y puso su rostro delante para venir con la fuerza de todo su reino, hará cosas rectas con él; y él le dará a la hija de una mujer para destruirle; pero no lo respaldará ni estará de su lado.
18 After this shall he set his face unto the isles, and shall take many; but a captain shall cause the reproach offered by him to cease; yea, he shall cause his own reproach to return upon him.
Después de esto, su rostro se volverá hacia las islas, y tomará varias de ellas: pero un gobernante, pondrá fin a su oprobio; y más que esto, hará que su vergüenza vuelva sobre él.
19 Then he shall turn his face toward the strongholds of his own land; but he shall stumble and fall, and shall not be found.
Entonces su rostro se volverá hacia los lugares fuertes de su tierra; pero su camino se detendrá, causando su caída, y no volverá a ser visto.
20 Then shall stand up in his place one that shall cause an exactor to pass through the glory of the kingdom; but within few days he shall be destroyed, neither in anger, nor in battle.
Entonces su lugar será ocupado por alguien que enviará a un hombre con la gloria de un rey para juntar riquezas; pero después de un corto tiempo la destrucción lo alcanzará, pero no en ira o en la lucha.
21 And in his place shall stand up a contemptible person, upon whom had not been conferred the majesty of the kingdom; but he shall come in time of security, and shall obtain the kingdom by blandishments.
Y su lugar será ocupado por una persona despreciable, a quien no se le había dado el honor del reino; pero vendrá en tiempo de paz y obtendrá el reino con palabras lisonjeras.
22 And the arms of the flood shall be swept away from before him, and shall be broken; yea, also the prince of the covenant.
Y sus fuerzas serán quitadas completamente de delante de él y quebrantadas; e incluso el gobernante del pacto tendrá el mismo destino.
23 And after the league made with him he shall work deceitfully; and he shall come up and become strong, with a little nation.
Y desde el momento en que lleguen a un acuerdo con él, actuará con engaño; porque tomará las armas de repente con una poca gente y vencerá,
24 In time of security shall he come even upon the fattest places of the province; and he shall do that which his fathers have not done, nor his fathers' fathers: he shall scatter among them prey, and spoil, and substance; yea, he shall devise his devices against fortresses, but only until the time.
Contra los lugares fértiles, y hará que la basura sea parte del país; y él hará lo que sus padres no hicieron, o los padres de sus padres; distribuirá entre ellos bienes tomados en la guerra y por la fuerza; despojos, botines y riquezas; planeará sus ataques contra los lugares fuertes por un tiempo.
25 And he shall stir up his power and his courage against the king of the south with a great army; and the king of the south shall stir himself up to battle with a very great and mighty army; but he shall not stand, for they shall devise devices against him.
Y animado por su poder y su valor contra el rey del sur con un gran ejército; y el rey del sur irá a la guerra con un ejército muy grande y fuerte; pero se verá obligado a ceder, debido a que fue traicionado;
26 Yea, they that eat of his food shall destroy him, and his army shall be swept away; and many shall fall down slain.
Y los mismos que comían de su mesa lo destruirán, y su ejército vendrá a la destrucción completa, y muchos caerán muertos.
27 And as for both these kings, their hearts shall be to do mischief, and they shall speak lies at one table; but it shall not prosper, for the end remaineth yet for the time appointed.
Y en cuanto a estos dos reyes, sus corazones estarán fijos en hacer el mal él uno al otro y dirán mentiras él uno al otro en una mesa; pero no llegará a nada; porque el final será en el momento fijado.
28 And he shall return to his own land with great substance; and his heart shall be against the holy covenant; and he shall do his pleasure, and return to his own land.
Y él volverá a su tierra con gran riqueza; y su corazón estará en contra del santo pacto; y él hará su placer y volverá a su tierra.
29 At the time appointed he shall return, and come into the south; but it shall not be in the latter time as it was in the former.
A la hora fijada regresará y entrará al sur; pero en el tiempo posterior ya no será como él primero.
30 For ships of Kittim shall come against him, and he shall be cowed, and he shall return, and have indignation against the holy covenant, and shall do his pleasure; and he shall return, and have regard unto them that forsake the holy covenant.
Porque los barcos de Quitim vendrán contra él, y él se desanimará, volverá lleno de ira contra el pacto santo; y actuará contra él; y él regresará y se entenderá con aquellos que han renunciado al pacto santo.
31 And arms shall stand on his part, and they shall profane the sanctuary, even the stronghold, and shall take away the continual burnt-offering, and they shall set up the detestable thing that causeth appalment.
Y los ejércitos enviados por él tomarán su posición y profanaran el lugar santo, incluso la fortaleza, y quitarán la ofrenda quemada regular y pondrán en su lugar una cosa inmunda que causa desolación.
32 And such as do wickedly against the covenant shall be corrupt by blandishments; but the people that know their God shall show strength, and prevail.
Y aquellos que hacen el mal en contra del pacto, los hará apostar con sus palabras lisonjeras; pero las personas que tengan conocimiento de su Dios serán fuertes y actuarán.
33 And they that are wise among the people shall cause the many to understand; yet they shall stumble by the sword and by flame, by captivity and by spoil, many days.
Y los que sean sabios entre la gente serán los maestros de muchos; pero caerán por la espada y por el fuego, siendo prisioneros y sufriendo despojo por mucho tiempo.
34 Now when they shall stumble, they shall be helped with a little help; but many shall join themselves unto them with blandishments.
Ahora, en el momento de su caída, recibirán un poco de ayuda, pero se les unirán muchos con lisonjas.
35 And some of them that are wise shall stumble, to refine among them, and to purify, and to make white, even to the time of the end; for it is yet for the time appointed.
Y algunos de los sabios caerán para ser refinados, purificados y emblanquecidos hasta el tiempo del fin; porque todavía está por venir el tiempo fijo.
36 And the king shall do according to his will; and he shall exalt himself, and magnify himself above every god, and shall speak strange things against the God of gods; and he shall prosper till the indignation be accomplished; for that which is determined shall be done.
Y el rey hará lo que le plazca; se pondrá en alto, se alzará sobre cada dios y dirá cosas contra el Dios de los dioses; y hablará maravillas y prosperará hasta que se complete la ira; porque lo que se ha decretado se cumplira.
37 Neither shall he regard the gods of his fathers; and neither the desire of women, nor any god, shall he regard; for he shall magnify himself above all.
No tendrá respeto por los dioses de sus padres ni por el dios favoritos por las mujeres; no tendrá respeto por ningún dios; porque se ensalzará a sí mismo por sobre todos.
38 But in his place shall he honour the god of strongholds; and a god whom his fathers knew not shall he honour with gold, and silver, and with precious stones, and costly things.
Pero en lugar de esto, honrará al dios de las fortalezas, y a un dios del que sus padres no tenían conocimiento, honrará con oro, plata, joyas y cosas de gran valor.
39 And he shall deal with the strongest fortresses with the help of a foreign god; whom he shall acknowledge, shall increase glory; and he shall cause them to rule over many, and shall divide the land for a price.
Y hará uso de la gente de un dios extraño para hacer fortalezas; Y aquellos de quienes que le reconozcan, dará un gran honor; y los convertirá en gobernantes sobre muchos, y hará que la tierra se divida por un precio.
40 And at the time of the end shall the king of the south push at him; and the king of the north shall come against him like a whirlwind, with chariots, and with horsemen, and with many ships; and he shall enter into the countries, and shall overflow, as he passes through.
Y al tiempo del fin, el rey del sur lo atacará; y el rey del norte vendrá contra él como un viento de tormenta, con carruajes de guerra, jinetes y numerosos barcos; y atravesará muchas tierras, vencerá y pasará.
41 He shall enter also into the beauteous land, and many countries shall be overthrown; but these shall be delivered out of his hand, Edom, and Moab, and the chief of the children of Ammon.
Y vendrá a la Tierra hermosa, y decenas de miles serán vencidos; pero se evitará que caigan en sus manos: Edom y Moab y el jefe de los hijos de Ammon.
42 He shall stretch forth his hand also upon the countries; and the land of Egypt shall not escape.
Y su mano se extenderá sobre los países; y Egipto no estará a salvo de él.
43 But he shall have power over the treasures of gold and silver, and over all the precious things of Egypt; and the Libyans and the Ethiopians shall be at his steps.
Pero él tendrá poder sobre las reservas de oro y plata, y sobre todas las cosas valiosas del sur; y los libios y los etíopes estarán a sus pies.
44 But tidings out of the east and out of the north shall affright him; and he shall go forth with great fury to destroy and utterly to take away many.
Pero las noticias del este y del norte lo perturbarán; y él saldrá con gran ira, para enviar destrucción y acabar con muchos.
45 And he shall plant the tents of his palace between the seas and the beauteous holy mountain; and he shall come to his end, and none shall help him.
Pondrá las carpas de su gran tabernáculo entre el mar y la hermosa montaña sagrada; pero llegará a su fin, y no habrá quien le ayude.
