< 1 Corinthians 1 >

1 PAUL, a called apostle of Jesus Christ by the will of God, and Sosthenes a brother,
Krataa yi firi me, Paulo a ɛnam Onyankopɔn pɛ so enti, wɔafrɛ me sɛ menyɛ Kristo Yesu somafoɔ no ne onua Sostene nkyɛn,
2 to the church of God which is at Corinth, sanctified in Christ Jesus, to the called saints, with all those who invoke the name of our Lord Jesus Christ in every place, both their’s and our’s:
Yɛde rekɔma Onyankopɔn asafo a ɛwɔ Korinto no ne wɔn a wɔafrɛ wɔn sɛ wɔmmɛyɛ Onyankopɔn akyidifoɔ kronkron no, ne wɔn a wɔwɔ baabiara a wɔbɔ yɛn Awurade Yesu din sɛ ɔyɛ wɔn ne yɛn Awurade no:
3 grace be unto you, and peace, from God our Father, and our Lord Jesus Christ.
Adom ne asomdwoeɛ a ɛfiri yɛn Agya Onyankopɔn ne yɛn Awurade Yesu Kristo nka mo.
4 I give thanks to my God always on your behalf, for the grace of God which hath been given you in Christ Jesus;
Esiane adom a Onyankopɔn nam Kristo Yesu so dom mo no enti, daa meda Onyankopɔn ase ma mo.
5 that in every thing ye have been enriched by him, in all utterance, and all knowledge;
Ɛnam ne so ama moayɛ ma biribiara mu, ɔkasa ne adwene mu.
6 thus the testimony of Jesus hath been confirmed among you:
Kristo ho asɛm atim wɔ mo mu,
7 so that ye have not been deficient in any gift; waiting for the revelation of our Lord Jesus Christ:
ɛno enti, ɛsiane sɛ moretwɛn ama wɔada yɛn Awurade Yesu Kristo adi no enti, nhyira biara, monya bi.
8 who shall confirm you to the end blameless in the day of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Ɔbɛhyɛ mo den akɔsi awieeɛ sɛdeɛ ɛbɛyɛ a, da a Awurade bɛba no, wɔrennya mo ho mfomsoɔ biara.
9 Faithful is God, by whom ye have been called into communion with his Son Jesus Christ our Lord.
Onyankopɔn a wafrɛ mo aba ne Ba Yesu Kristo ayɔnkofa mu no yɛ ɔnokwafoɔ.
10 Now I conjure you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye all speak the same thing, and that there be no schisms among you; but that ye be perfectly united together in the same mind and the same sentiment.
Anuanom, menam Awurade Yesu Kristo tumi so metu mo fo sɛ, asɛm biara a mobɛka no, monyɛ adwene na mo mu ampaapae. Monsɔ adwene ne botaeɛ baako mu na ama moayɛ baako.
11 For I have been informed concerning you, my brethren, by those of the family of Chloe, that there are contentions among you.
Anuanom, nnipa bi a wɔfiri Kloe efie apae mu aka akyerɛ me sɛ, akasakasa wɔ mo asafo yi mu.
12 Now this I observe, that one and another of you saith, I am indeed of Paul; but I of Apollos; but I of Cephas; but I am of Christ.
Asɛm a mepɛ sɛ meka ne sɛ, wɔn mu biara ka asɛm a ɔpɛ. Yei ka sɛ, “Mewɔ Paulo afa” a, ɔfoforɔ sɛ, “Mewɔ Apolo afa.” Obi sɔre na ɔse, “Mewɔ Petro afa” a, ɔbaako nso se, “Mewɔ Kristo afa.”
13 Is Christ divided? was Paul crucified for you? or were ye baptised into the name of Paul?
Wɔakyekyɛ Kristo mu akuakuo? Paulo na ɔwuu wɔ asɛnnua no so maa mo anaa? Wɔbɔɔ mo asu sɛ Paulo asuafoɔ anaa?
14 I thank God that I baptised none of you, except Crispus and Gaius;
Meda Onyankopɔn ase sɛ mammɔ mo mu biara asu ka Krispo ne Gaio ho.
15 that no man might say, I baptised into my own name.
Obiara rentumi nka sɛ wɔbɔɔ mo asu sɛ mʼasuafoɔ.
16 And I also baptised the household of Stephanus: besides these, I know not if I baptised any other person.
Mekae sɛ mebɔɔ Stefana ne ne fiefoɔ asu. Na menkae sɛ mebɔɔ obi foforɔ asu bio.
17 For Christ sent me not to baptise, but to preach the gospel: not with wisdom of discourse, lest the cross of Christ should be slighted.
Kristo ansoma me sɛ memmɛbɔ asu, na mmom ɔsomaa me sɛ memmɛka asɛmpa a ɛmfiri nnipa nyansa mu, na obi annyina so amma Kristo wu a ɔwuu asɛnnua no so no mu tumi anyɛ kwa.
18 For the discourse, the subject of which is the cross, is indeed to those who perish, folly; but to us who are saved it is the power of God.
Asɛnka a ɛkyerɛ Kristo asɛnnuambɔ no yɛ nsɛm a aba nni mu ma wɔn a wɔreyera. Nanso, yɛn a wɔregye yɛn nkwa no deɛ, ɛyɛ Onyankopɔn tumi.
19 For it is written, “I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and the understanding of the intelligent will I make useless.”
Atwerɛsɛm no ka sɛ, “Mɛsɛe anyansafoɔ nyansa, na mɛma nimdefoɔ adenim ayɛ ɔkwa.”
20 Where is the sophist? where is the scribe? where is the inquisitive searcher after this world’s wisdom? hath not God turned into folly the wisdom of this world? (aiōn g165)
Enti, onyansafoɔ wɔ he? Onimdefoɔ nso wɔ he? Ewiase yi mu akyinnyegyefoɔ wɔ he? Onyankopɔn akyerɛ sɛ ewiase yi mu nyansa yɛ ohunu. (aiōn g165)
21 for since in the wisdom of God the world by its wisdom knew not God, it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe.
Enti, Onyankopɔn nam ɔno ara ne nyansa so yɛɛ sɛ, nnipa a wɔpɛ sɛ wɔfa wɔn ara wɔn nyansa so hunu no no renhunu no da. Na mmom, Onyankopɔn yɛɛ nʼadwene sɛ wɔn a wɔgye asɛm a “aba nni mu” a yɛka no di no, ɔbɛgye wɔn nkwa.
22 For the Jews demand a miracle, and the Greeks seek wisdom:
Yudafoɔ hwehwɛ sɛ wɔhunu nsɛnkyerɛnneɛ, ɛnna Helafoɔ nso hwehwɛ nyansa.
23 but we preach Christ crucified, to the Jews indeed an offence, and to the Greeks folly;
Nanso, yɛn deɛ, yɛka Kristo wu a ɔwuu wɔ asɛnnua no so no ho asɛm. Saa asɛm no yɛ Yudafoɔ abufuo ɛnna ɛyɛ asɛm a aba nni mu ma amanamanmufoɔ;
24 but to those who are called, whether Jews or Greeks, Christ the power of God, and the wisdom of God.
nanso Yudafoɔ ne amanamanmufoɔ a Onyankopɔn afrɛ wɔn no, Kristo yɛ Onyankopɔn tumi ne Onyankopɔn nyansa.
25 For this foolishness of God is wiser than men; and this weakness of God is stronger than men.
Onyankopɔn asɛm a ɛyɛ sɛ aba nni mu no, aba wɔ mu sene nnipa nyansa, na saa ara nso na deɛ ɛyɛ sɛ ɛyɛ mmerɛ wɔ Onyankopɔn fam no yɛ den sene nnipa ahoɔden.
26 For ye see your calling, brethren, that not many fleshly wise, not many men in power, not many men of high birth, are called:
Afei, anuanom, monkae ɛberɛ a Onyankopɔn frɛɛ mo no tebea a na mowɔ mu. Nnipa fam deɛ na mo mu bebree nyɛ anyansafoɔ, na mo mu bebree nni tumi, na mo mu bebree nyɛ adehyeɛ nso.
27 but the foolish things of this world hath God elected, that he might confound the wise; and the feeble things of the world hath God elected, that he might confound the mighty;
Nanso, Onyankopɔn faa ewiase yi mu nsɛm a aba nni mu no, nam so guu anyansafoɔ anim ase. Onyankopɔn faa nneɛma a ɛyɛ mmerɛ wɔ ewiase, nam so de guu ahoɔden anim ase.
28 and the ignoble things of the world, and the despicable, hath God elected, and the things that are not, to bring to nought the things which are,
Ɔfaa deɛ ewiase mmu na wɔmfa nyɛ hwee no de sɛee deɛ ewiase susu sɛ ɛho hia no.
29 that no flesh should glory in his presence.
Yei kyerɛ sɛ obi ntumi nhoahoa ne ho Onyankopɔn anim.
30 But of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who hath been made to us of God wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption:
Nanso, Onyankopɔn aka mo abata Kristo Yesu ho na Onyankopɔn nam Kristo so ama yɛn nyansa; ɛnam ne so ma yɛatene wɔ Onyankopɔn anim. Yɛyɛ Onyankopɔn ahotefoɔ a wama yɛade yɛn ho.
31 that, as it is written, “He that glorieth, let him glory in the Lord.”
Enti sɛdeɛ Atwerɛsɛm no ka no, “Obiara a ɔpɛ sɛ ɔhoahoa ne ho no, ɔnhoahoa ne ho wɔ deɛ Awurade ayɛ mu.”
