Psalms 94
1 O Lord God the auenger, O God the auenger, shewe thy selfe clearely.
Gott der Rache, o HERR, du Gott der Rache, brich hervor!
2 Exalt thy selfe, O Iudge of the worlde, and render a reward to the proude.
Erhebe dich, du Richter der Erde, gib den Stolzen ihren Lohn!
3 Lord how long shall the wicked, how long shall the wicked triumph?
Wie lange sollen die Gottlosen, o HERR, wie lange sollen die Gottlosen frohlocken?
4 They prate and speake fiercely: all the workers of iniquitie vaunt themselues.
Sie halten viele und freche Reden; stolz überheben sich alle Übeltäter.
5 They smite downe thy people, O Lord, and trouble thine heritage.
Sie knebeln dein Volk, o HERR, und unterdrücken dein Erbteil.
6 They slay the widowe and the stranger, and murder the fatherlesse.
Sie erwürgen Witwen und Fremdlinge und ermorden Waisen;
7 Yet they say, The Lord shall not see: neither will the God of Iaakob regard it.
und dann sagen sie: «Der HERR sieht es nicht, und der Gott Jakobs achtet es nicht!»
8 Vnderstande ye vnwise among the people: and ye fooles, when will ye be wise?
Nehmt doch Verstand an, ihr Unvernünftigen unter dem Volk, ihr Toren, wann wollt ihr klug werden?
9 Hee that planted the eare, shall hee not heare? or he that formed the eye, shall he not see?
Der das Ohr gepflanzt hat, sollte der nicht hören? Der das Auge gebildet hat, sollte der nicht sehen?
10 Or he that chastiseth the nations, shall he not correct? hee that teacheth man knowledge, shall he not knowe?
Der die Nationen züchtigt, sollte der nicht strafen, er, der die Menschen Erkenntnis lehrt?
11 The Lord knoweth the thoughtes of man, that they are vanitie.
Der HERR kennt die Anschläge der Menschen, [weiß, ] daß sie vergeblich sind.
12 Blessed is the man, whom thou chastisest, O Lord, and teachest him in thy Lawe,
Wohl dem Mann, den du, HERR, züchtigst und den du aus deinem Gesetze belehrst,
13 That thou mayest giue him rest from the dayes of euill, whiles the pitte is digged for the wicked.
ihm Ruhe zu geben vor den Tagen des Unglücks, bis dem Gottlosen die Grube gegraben wird.
14 Surely the Lord will not faile his people, neither will he forsake his inheritance.
Denn der HERR wird sein Volk nicht verstoßen und sein Erbteil nicht verlassen;
15 For iudgement shall returne to iustice, and all the vpright in heart shall follow after it.
denn zur Gerechtigkeit kehrt das Gericht zurück, und alle aufrichtigen Herzen werden ihm folgen!
16 Who will rise vp with me against the wicked? or who will take my part against the workers of iniquitie?
Wer steht mir bei wider die Bösen, wer tritt für mich ein wider die Übeltäter?
17 If the Lord had not holpen me, my soule had almost dwelt in silence.
Wäre der HERR nicht meine Hilfe, wie bald würde meine Seele in der Totenstille wohnen!
18 When I said, My foote slideth, thy mercy, O Lord, stayed me.
Sooft ich aber auch sprach: «Mein Fuß ist wankend geworden», hat deine Gnade, o HERR, mich gestützt.
19 In the multitude of my thoughts in mine heart, thy comfortes haue reioyced my soule.
Bei den vielen Sorgen in meinem Herzen erquickten deine Tröstungen meine Seele.
20 Hath the throne of iniquitie fellowship with thee, which forgeth wrong for a Lawe?
Sollte mit dir Gemeinschaft haben der Thron des Verderbens, der Unheil schafft; durch Gesetz?
21 They gather them together against the soule of the righteous, and condemne the innocent blood.
Sie greifen die Seele des Gerechten an und verdammen unschuldiges Blut.
22 But the Lord is my refuge, and my God is the rocke of mine hope.
Aber der HERR ward mir zur festen Burg, zum Felsen, wo ich Zuflucht fand.
23 And hee will recompence them their wickednes, and destroy them in their owne malice: yea, the Lord our God shall destroy them.
Und er ließ ihr Unrecht auf sie selber fallen, und er wird sie durch ihre eigene Bosheit vertilgen; der HERR, unser Gott, wird sie vertilgen.
