Proverbs 18
1 For the desire thereof hee will separate himselfe to seeke it, and occupie himselfe in all wisdome.
၁သူတပါးများနှင့် မရောနှောသောသူသည် မိမိ စေတနာ အလိုရှိသည်အတိုင်း ရှာဖွေ၍၊ ပညာရတနာ အမျိုးမျိုးကို စူးစမ်းမွှေနှောက်တတ်၏။
2 A foole hath no delite in vnderstanding: but that his heart may be discouered.
၂မိုက်သောသူမူကား၊ မိမိစိတ်သဘောကို ပြစရာ အခွင့်မှတပါး၊ အခြားသောအကြောင်းကြောင့် ဥာဏ် ပညာ၌ မပျော်မွေ့တတ်။
3 When the wicked commeth, then commeth contempt, and with the vile man reproch.
၃မတရားသောသူလာသောအခါ၊ မထီမဲ့မြင်ပြု ခြင်းကို ခံရ၏။ ဂုဏ်အသရေပျက်သောအခါ၊ ကဲ့ရဲ့ခြင်း ကိုလည်း ခံရ၏။
4 The words of a mans mouth are like deepe waters, and the welspring of wisdome is like a flowing riuer.
၄နှုတ်ထွက်သောစကားသည် နက်သောရေကဲ့သို့ ၎င်း၊ ပညာစမ်းရေတွင်းသည် ရေစီးသောမြစ်ကဲ့သို့၎င်း ဖြစ်၏။
5 It is not good to accept the person of the wicked, to cause ye righteous to fall in iudgement.
၅တရားတွေ့ရာအမှု၌ ဖြောင့်မတ်သောသူကို ရှုံးစေခြင်းငှါ၊ မတရားသော သူ၏မျက်နှာကို မထောက် ကောင်း။
6 A fooles lips come with strife, and his mouth calleth for stripes.
၆မိုက်သောသူ၏နှုတ်ခမ်းတို့သည် ရန်တွေ့ တတ်၏။ သူ၏နှုတ်သည်လည်း အပြစ်ဒဏ်ကို တောင်း တတ်၏။
7 A fooles mouth is his owne destruction, and his lips are a snare for his soule.
၇မိုက်သောသူ၏နှုတ်သည် ပျက်စီးရာအကြောင်း၊ နှုတ်ခမ်းတို့သည်လည်း မိမိအသက်ကို ကျော့မိရာ အကြောင်းဖြစ်၏။
8 The wordes of a tale bearer are as flatterings, and they goe downe into the bowels of the belly.
၈ကုန်းတိုက်သောသူ၏စကားသည် မြိန်သော ခဲဘွယ်စားဘွယ်ကဲ့သို့ဖြစ်၍၊ ဝမ်းအတွင်းသို့ဝင်တတ်၏။
9 He also that is slouthfull in his worke, is euen the brother of him that is a great waster.
၉အလုပ်လုပ်သောအခါ ပျင်းရိသောသူသည်၊ မိမိဥစ္စာကို အချည်းနှီးကုန်စေသော သူနှင့်ညီအစ်ကို တော်ပေ၏။
10 The Name of the Lord is a strong tower: the righteous runneth vnto it, and is exalted.
၁၀ထာဝရဘုရား၏နာမတော်သည် ခိုင်ခံ့သော ရဲတိုက်ဖြစ်၍၊ ဖြောင့်မတ်သောသူတို့သည် ပြေးဝင်သဖြင့်၊ လုံခြုံစွာနေရကြ၏။
11 The rich mans riches are his strong citie: and as an hie wall in his imagination.
၁၁ငွေရတတ်သောသူက၊ ငါ့စည်းစိမ်သည် ခိုင်ခံ့ သောမြို့ဖြစ်၏။ မြင့်သောမြို့ရိုးနှင့်တူသည်ဟု ထင်တတ် ၏။
12 Before destruction the heart of a man is hautie, and before glory goeth lowlines.
၁၂ပျက်စီးခြင်းအရင်၌လူသည် စိတ်မြင့်ခြင်း၏ နေရာ၊ ဂုဏ်အသရေ အရင်၌နှိမ့်ချခြင်း၏နေရာရှိ၏။
13 He that answereth a matter before hee heare it, it is folly and shame vnto him.
၁၃အကျိုးအကြောင်းကို မစစ်မှီ၊ အမှုစီရင်သော သူသည်မိုက်သော အပြစ်၊ အရှက်ကွဲရသောအပြစ်ရှိ၏။
14 The spirit of a man will susteine his infirmitie: but a wounded spirit who can beare it?
၁၄လူ၏စိတ်ဝိညာဉ်သည် မိမိနာခြင်းဝေဒနာကို ခံနိုင်၏။ ကြေကွဲသောစိတ်ကိုကား၊ အဘယ်သူသည်းခံ နိုင်သနည်း။
15 A wise heart getteth knowledge, and the eare of the wise seeketh learning.
၁၅သမ္မာသတိရှိသောသူ၏ စိတ်နှလုံးသည် ပညာ အတတ်ကို သိုထားတက်၏။ ပညာရှိသော သူ၏နားသည် လည်း၊ ပညာစကားကို ရှာတတ်၏။
16 A mans gift enlargeth him, and leadeth him before great men.
၁၆လူ၌ပါသော လက်ဆောင်အားဖြင့်၊ လမ်းရှင်း လင်း၍၊ လူကြီးထံသို့ ဝင်ရသောအခွင့်ရှိတတ်၏။
17 He that is first in his owne cause, is iust: then commeth his neighbour, and maketh inquirie of him.
၁၇ကိုယ်အမှုကို အဦးစောင့်၍ပြောသောသူသည် ဖြောင့်မတ်ရာသို့ ရောက်သော်လည်း၊ အိမ်နီးချင်းလာ၍ စစ်ကြောတတ်၏။
18 The lot causeth contentions to cease, and maketh a partition among the mightie.
၁၈စာရေးတံပြုခြင်းအားဖြင့် အငြင်းအခုံငြိမ်း၍၊ အားကြီးသော သူတို့အမှုကို ဆုံးဖြတ်တတ်၏။
19 A brother offended is harder to winne then a strong citie, and their contentions are like the barre of a palace.
၁၉အငြိုးထားသောညီအစ်ကိုသည် ခိုင်ခံ့သောမြို့ ထက် သာ၍ခက်၏။ ညီအစ်ကို ရန်တွေ့ခြင်းအမှုသည် ရဲတိုက်တံခါးကျင်ကဲ့သို့ ဖြစ်၏။
20 With the fruite of a mans mouth shall his belly be satisfied, and with the increase of his lips shall he be filled.
၂၀လူသည်မိမိနှုတ်၏အသီးနှင့်ဝမ်းပြည့်ရ၏။ မိမိနှုတ်ခမ်းတို့၏ စီးပွါးနှင့်ဝရ၏။
21 Death and life are in the power of ye tongue, and they that loue it, shall eate the fruite thereof.
၂၁လျှာသည်အသက်သေခြင်းနှင့် ရှင်ခြင်းကို အစိုးရ ၏။ လျှာကို နှစ်သက်သောသူသည်လည်း၊ လျှာ၏အသီးကို စားရ၏။
22 He that findeth a wife, findeth a good thing, and receiueth fauour of the Lord.
၂၂မယားကိုရသောသူသည် ကောင်းသောအရာကို ရ၍၊ ထာဝရဘုရား၏ကျေးဇူးတော်ကို ခံရ၏။
23 The poore speaketh with prayers: but the rich answereth roughly.
၂၃ဆင်းရဲသောသူသည် တောင်းပန်တတ်၏။ ငွေရ တတ်သောသူမူကား၊ ကြမ်းတမ်းစွာ ပြန်ပြောတတ်၏။
24 A man that hath friends, ought to shew him selfe friendly: for a friend is neerer then a brother.
၂၄အပေါင်းအဘော်များသောသူသည် အကျိုး နည်းရှိတတ်၏။ မိတ်ဆွေမူကား၊ ညီအစ်ကိုစွဲကပ်သည် ထက် သာ၍ စွဲကပ်တတ်၏။
