Proverbs 16
1 The preparations of the heart are in man: but the answere of the tongue is of the Lord.
Do homem são os planejamentos do coração, mas a reposta da boca [vem] do SENHOR.
2 All the wayes of a man are cleane in his owne eyes: but the Lord pondereth the spirits.
Todos os caminhos do homem são puros aos seus [próprios] olhos; mas o SENHOR pesa os espíritos.
3 Commit thy workes vnto the Lord, and thy thoughts shalbe directed.
Confia tuas obras ao SENHOR, e teus pensamentos serão firmados.
4 The Lord hath made all things for his owne sake: yea, euen the wicked for the day of euill.
O SENHOR fez tudo para seu propósito; e até ao perverso para o dia do mal.
5 All that are proude in heart, are an abomination to the Lord: though hand ioyne in hand, he shall not be vnpunished.
O SENHOR abomina todo orgulhoso de coração; certamente não ficará impune.
6 By mercy and trueth iniquitie shalbe forgiuen, and by the feare of the Lord they depart from euill.
Com misericórdia e fidelidade a perversidade é reconciliada; e com o temor ao SENHOR se desvia do mal.
7 When the wayes of a man please the Lord, he will make also his enemies at peace with him.
Quando os caminhos do homem são agradáveis ao SENHOR, ele faz até seus inimigos terem paz com ele.
8 Better is a litle with righteousnesse, then great reuenues without equitie.
Melhor é o pouco com justiça, do que a abundância de rendas com injustiça.
9 The heart of man purposeth his way: but the Lord doeth direct his steppes.
O coração do homem planeja seu caminho, mas é o SENHOR que dirige seus passos.
10 A diuine sentence shalbe in the lips of the King: his mouth shall not transgresse in iudgement.
Nos lábios do rei estão palavras sublimes; sua boca não transgride quando julga.
11 A true weight and balance are of the Lord: all the weightes of the bagge are his worke.
O peso e a balança justos pertencem ao SENHOR; a ele pertencem todos os pesos da bolsa.
12 It is an abomination to Kings to commit wickednes: for the throne is stablished by iustice.
Os reis abominam fazer perversidade, porque com justiça é que se confirma o trono.
13 Righteous lips are the delite of Kings, and the King loueth him that speaketh right things.
Os lábios justos são do agrado dos reis, e eles amam ao que fala palavras direitas.
14 The wrath of a King is as messengers of death: but a wise man will pacifie it.
A ira do rei é como mensageiros de morte; mas o homem sábio a apaziguará.
15 In the light of the Kings coutenance is life: and his fauour is as a cloude of the latter raine.
No brilho do rosto do rei há vida; e seu favor é como uma nuvem de chuva tardia.
16 Howe much better is it to get wisedome then golde? and to get vnderstanding, is more to be desired then siluer.
Obter sabedoria é tão melhor do que o ouro! E obter sabedoria é mais excelente do que a prata.
17 The pathe of the righteous is to decline from euil, and hee keepeth his soule, that keepeth his way.
A estrada dos corretos se afasta do mal; e guarda sua alma quem vigia seu caminho.
18 Pride goeth before destruction, and an high minde before the fall.
Antes da destruição vem a arrogância, e antes da queda vem a soberba de espírito.
19 Better it is to be of humble minde with the lowly, then to deuide the spoyles with the proude.
É melhor ser humilde de espírito com os mansos, do que repartir despojos com os arrogantes.
20 He that is wise in his busines, shall finde good: and he that trusteth in the Lord, he is blessed.
Aquele que pensa prudentemente na palavra encontrará o bem; e quem confia no SENHOR é bem-aventurado.
21 The wise in heart shall bee called prudent: and the sweetenesse of the lippes shall increase doctrine.
O sábio de coração será chamado de prudente; e a doçura dos lábios aumentará a instrução.
22 Vnderstading is welspring of life vnto them that haue it: and the instruction of fooles is folly.
Manancial de vida é o entendimento, para queles que o possuem; mas a instrução dos tolos é loucura.
23 The heart of the wise guideth his mouth wisely, and addeth doctrine to his lippes.
O coração do sábio dá prudência à sua boca; e sobre seus lábios aumentará a instrução.
24 Faire wordes are as an hony combe, sweetenesse to the soule, and health to the bones.
Favo de mel são as palavras suaves: doces para a alma, e remédio para os ossos.
25 There is a way that seemeth right vnto man: but the issue thereof are the wayes of death.
Há um caminho que parece direito ao homem, porém seu fim são caminhos de morte.
26 The person that traueileth, traueileth for himselfe: for his mouth craueth it of him.
A alma do trabalhador faz ele trabalhar para si, porque sua boca o obriga.
27 A wicked man diggeth vp euill, and in his lippes is like burning fire.
O homem maligno cava o mal, e em seus lábios [há] como que um fogo ardente.
28 A frowarde person soweth strife: and a tale teller maketh diuision among princes.
O homem perverso levanta contenda, e o difamador faz [até] grandes amigos se separarem.
29 A wicked man deceiueth his neighbour, and leadeth him into the way that is not good.
O homem violento ilude a seu próximo, e o guia por um caminho que não é bom.
30 He shutteth his eyes to deuise wickednes: he moueth his lippes, and bringeth euil to passe.
Ele fecha seus olhos para imaginar perversidades; ele aperta os lábios para praticar o mal.
31 Age is a crowne of glory, when it is founde in the way of righteousnes.
Cabelos grisalhos são uma coroa de honra, [caso] se encontrem no caminho de justiça.
32 He that is slowe vnto anger, is better then the mightie man: and hee that ruleth his owne minde, is better then he that winneth a citie.
Melhor é o que demora para se irritar do que o valente; e [melhor é] aquele que domina seu espírito do que aquele que toma uma cidade.
33 The lot is cast into the lap: but the whole disposition thereof is of the Lord.
A sorte é lançada no colo, mas toda decisão pertence ao SENHOR.
