Proverbs 15
1 A soft answere putteth away wrath: but grieuous wordes stirre vp anger.
Una respuesta blanda calma el furor, una palabra áspera excita la ira.
2 The tongue of the wise vseth knowledge aright: but the mouth of fooles babbleth out foolishnesse.
La lengua de los sabios hace amable la sabiduría, la boca de los fatuos profiere sandeces.
3 The eyes of the Lord in euery place beholde the euill and the good.
En todo lugar están los ojos de Yahvé, observando a malos y buenos.
4 A wholesome tongue is as a tree of life: but the frowardnes therof is the breaking of ye minde.
Mansedumbre de lengua, árbol de vida; lengua perversa, quebranto del corazón.
5 A foole despiseth his fathers instruction: but he that regardeth correction, is prudent.
El necio desprecia la corrección de su padre; mas quien acepta la amonestación se hace más sabio.
6 The house of the righteous hath much treasure: but in the reuenues of the wicked is trouble.
En la casa del justo abunda la hacienda; en tanto que en las empresas del impío hay pérdidas.
7 The lippes of the wise doe spread abroade knowledge: but ye heart of the foolish doth not so.
La lengua de los sabios difunde la sabiduría; no así el corazón del insensato.
8 The sacrifice of the wicked is abomination to the Lord: but the prayer of the righteous is acceptable vnto him.
Yahvé detesta el sacrificio de los malos, y le agrada la oración de los buenos.
9 The way of the wicked is an abomination vnto the Lord: but he loueth him that followeth righteousnes.
El camino del malvado es abominación para Yahvé, el cual ama a aquel que sigue la justicia.
10 Instruction is euill to him that forsaketh the way, and he that hateth correction, shall die.
Lección dura recibe el que abandona el camino; halla la muerte, quien aborrece la corrección.
11 Hell and destruction are before the Lord: how much more the hearts of the sonnes of men? (Sheol h7585)
El scheol y el abismo están (patentes) ante Yahvé, ¡cuánto más los corazones de los hombres! (Sheol h7585)
12 A scorner loueth not him that rebuketh him, neither will he goe vnto the wise.
El burlador no ama al que le reprende, ni se junta con sabios.
13 A ioyfull heart maketh a chearefull countenance: but by the sorow of the heart the minde is heauie.
El corazón alegre hace el rostro amable; mas la tristeza del corazón quebranta el espíritu.
14 The heart of him that hath vnderstanding, seeketh knowledge: but the mouth of the foole is fedde with foolishnes.
El corazón inteligente busca la sabiduría, la boca del necio se pace con sandeces.
15 All the dayes of the afflicted are euill: but a good conscience is a continuall feast.
Los días del pobre son todos malos; pero la alegría del corazón es un banquete sin fin.
16 Better is a litle with the feare of the Lord, then great treasure, and trouble therewith.
Más vale poco con temor de Yahvé, que grandes tesoros con inquietud.
17 Better is a dinner of greene herbes where loue is, then a stalled oxe and hatred therewith.
Mejor un plato de legumbres con amor, que buey cebado y odio a la mesa.
18 An angrie man stirreth vp strife: but hee that is slowe to wrath, appeaseth strife.
La ira del hombre provoca contiendas, la mansedumbre apacigua las rencillas.
19 The way of a slouthfull man is as an hedge of thornes: but the way of the righteous is plaine.
El camino del perezoso es como un seto de espinas, la senda de los rectos es llana.
20 A wise sonne reioyceth the father: but a foolish man despiseth his mother.
El hijo sabio es la alegría de su padre, el necio desprecia a su propia madre.
21 Foolishnes is ioy to him that is destitute of vnderstanding: but a man of vnderstanding walketh vprightly.
Le gusta al fatuo la necedad, al prudente el marchar por el recto camino.
22 Without cousel thoughts come to nought: but in the multitude of counsellers there is stedfastnesse.
Fracasan los planes si no hay consejo, pero prosperan con numerosos consejeros.
23 A ioy commeth to a man by the answere of his mouth: and how good is a word in due season?
Alegrase uno de la (buena) respuesta de su boca; ¡cuán buena una palabra dicha a tiempo!
El sabio va hacia arriba siguiendo la senda de la vida, para apartarse del scheol que está abajo. (Sheol h7585)
25 The Lord will destroye the house of the proude men: but hee will stablish the borders of the widowe.
Yahvé derriba la casa de los soberbios, y afirma la heredad de la viuda.
26 The thoughts of ye wicked are abomination to the Lord: but the pure haue pleasant wordes.
Son abominables a Yahvé los pensamientos de los malos, pero son puras (ante Él) las palabras amables.
27 He that is greedie of gaine, troubleth his owne house: but he that hateth giftes, shall liue.
Perturbador de su casa es el codicioso; el que aborrece las dádivas vivirá.
28 The heart of the righteous studieth to answere: but the wicked mans mouth babbleth euil thinges.
El corazón del justo medita para responder, la boca de los impíos rebosa de maldades.
29 The Lord is farre off from the wicked: but he heareth the prayer of the righteous.
Lejos está Yahvé de los malvados, mas oye la oración de los justos.
30 The light of the eyes reioyceth the heart, and a good name maketh the bones fat.
La luz de los ojos alegra el corazón, y una buena nueva da fuerza a los huesos.
31 The eare that hearkeneth to the correction of life, shall lodge among the wise.
Quien escucha la amonestación saludable, morará entre los sabios.
32 Hee that refuseth instruction, despiseth his owne soule: but he that obeyeth correction, getteth vnderstanding.
El que rechaza la corrección desprecia su propia alma, quien escucha la amonestación adquiere entendimiento.
33 The feare of the Lord is the instruction of wisdome: and before honour, goeth humilitie.
El temor de Dios es escuela de sabiduría, y a la gloria precede la humildad.
