Then all his sonnes and all his daughters rose vp to comfort him, but he woulde not be comforted, but said, Surely I will go downe into the graue vnto my sonne mourning: so his father wept for him. (Sheol )
And all his sons and all his daughters rose up to comfort him; but he refused to be comforted; and he said, For I must go down unto my son, mourning, into the grave; thus his father wept for him. (Sheol )
But he said, My sonne shall not go downe with you: for his brother is dead, and he is left alone: if death come vnto him by the way which ye goe, then ye shall bring my gray head with sorow vnto the graue. (Sheol )
And he said, My son shall not go down with you; for his brother is dead, and he alone is left: and if mischief befall him by the way in which ye go, then will ye bring down my gray hairs with sorrow to the grave. (Sheol )
Nowe yee take this also away from me: if death take him, then yee shall bring my graye head in sorowe to the graue. (Sheol )
And if ye take this one also from me, and mischief befall him, ye will bring down my gray hairs with sorrow to the grave. (Sheol )
Then when hee shall see that the childe is not come, he will die: so shall thy seruants bring the graye head of thy seruant our father with sorowe to the graue. (Sheol )
It will come to pass, that when he seeth that the lad is not with us, he will die: and thy servants would thus bring down the gray hairs of thy servant our father with sorrow to the grave. (Sheol )
But if the Lord make a newe thing, and the earth open her mouth, and swallowe them vp with all that they haue, and they goe downe quicke into ye pit, then ye shall vnderstand that these men haue prouoked the Lord. (Sheol )
But if the Lord do create a new thing, and the earth open her mouth, and swallow them up, with all that appertaineth unto them, and they go down alive into the pit: then shall ye understand that these men have provoked the Lord. (Sheol )
So they and all that they had, went down aliue into the pit, and the earth couered them: so they perished from among the Congregation. (Sheol )

For fire is kindled in my wrath, and shall burne vnto the bottome of hell, and shall consume the earth with her increase, and set on fire the foundations of the mountaines. (Sheol )

The Lord killeth and maketh aliue: bringeth downe to the graue and raiseth vp. (Sheol )

As the cloude vanisheth and goeth away, so he that goeth downe to the graue, shall come vp no more. (Sheol )

The heauens are hie, what canst thou doe? it is deeper then the hell, how canst thou know it? (Sheol )

Oh that thou wouldest hide me in the graue, and keepe me secret, vntill thy wrath were past, and wouldest giue me terme, and remember me. (Sheol )
Oh who would grant that thou mightest hide me in the nether world, that thou mightest conceal me, until thy wrath be appeased, that thou mightest set for me a fixed time, and remember me then! (Sheol )
Though I hope, yet the graue shall bee mine house, and I shall make my bed in the darke. (Sheol )
When I hope for the nether world as my house; in the darkness have I spread my couch; (Sheol )
They shall goe downe into the bottome of the pit: surely it shall lye together in the dust. (Sheol )
Let then my limbs sink down to the nether world: truly in the dust alone there is rest for all. (Sheol )
They spend their dayes in wealth, and suddenly they go downe to the graue. (Sheol )
They wear out their days in happiness, and in a moment they go down to the nether world. (Sheol )
As the dry ground and heate consume the snowe waters, so shall the graue the sinners. (Sheol )
Drought and heat speedily consume the snow-waters: so doth the grave those who have sinned. (Sheol )
The graue is naked before him, and there is no couering for destruction. (Sheol )
Naked is the nether world before him, and there is no covering for the place of corruption. (Sheol )
For in death there is no remembrance of thee: in the graue who shall prayse thee? (Sheol )
For in death men do not remember thee: in the nether world, who shall give thee thanks? (Sheol )
The wicked shall turne into hell, and all nations that forget God. (Sheol )
The wicked shall return into hell, all the nations that are forgetful of God. (Sheol )
For thou wilt not leaue my soule in the graue: neither wilt thou suffer thine holy one to see corruption. (Sheol )
For thou wilt not abandon my soul to the grave: thou wilt not suffer thy pious [servant] to see corruption. (Sheol )

Like sheepe they lie in graue: death deuoureth them, and the righteous shall haue domination ouer them in the morning: for their beautie shall consume, when they shall goe from their house to graue. (Sheol )
Like flocks are they thrust into the nether world; death will feed them; but the upright shall have dominion over them in that morning, and their form wasteth away in the nether world, [taken away] from their own dwelling. (Sheol )
But God shall deliuer my soule from the power of the graue: for he will receiue me. (Selah) (Sheol )
But God will redeem my soul from the power of the nether world; for he will take me away. (Selah) (Sheol )
Let death sense vpon them: let them goe downe quicke into the graue: for wickednes is in their dwellings, euen in the middes of them. (Sheol )
Let him dispense death over them; let them go down alive into the nether world; for evil is in their dwelling, in the midst of them. (Sheol )
For great is thy mercie toward me, and thou hast deliuered my soule from the lowest graue. (Sheol )

For my soule is filled with euils, and my life draweth neere to the graue. (Sheol )

When the snares of death copassed me, and the griefes of the graue caught me: when I founde trouble and sorowe. (Sheol )
The bands of death had compassed me, and the pangs of the nether world had overtaken me; I had met with distress and sorrow: (Sheol )
If I ascende into heauen, thou art there: if I lye downe in hell, thou art there. (Sheol )
If I should ascend into heaven, thou art there; and if I should make my bed in the nether world, behold, thou art there. (Sheol )
Our bones lye scattered at the graues mouth, as he that heweth wood or diggeth in the earth. (Sheol )
As when one cutteth in and splitteth open the earth: so are our bones scattered for the mouth of the grave. (Sheol )
We wil swallow them vp aliue like a graue euen whole, as those that goe downe into the pit: (Sheol )
We will swallow them up like the grave alive; and the men of integrity, as those that go down into the pit; (Sheol )
Her feete goe downe to death, and her steps take holde on hell. (Sheol )

Her house is the way vnto ye graue, which goeth downe to the chambers of death. (Sheol )
The ways to the nether world is her house leading down to the chambers of death. (Sheol )
But he knoweth not, that ye dead are there, and that her ghestes are in the depth of hell. (Sheol )
But he knoweth not that the departed are there; that in the depths of the nether world are her guests. (Sheol )
Hell and destruction are before the Lord: how much more the hearts of the sonnes of men? (Sheol )
The nether world and corruption are open before the Lord: how much more then the hearts of the children of men! (Sheol )
The way of life is on high to the prudent, to auoyde from hell beneath. (Sheol )
The path of life [leadeth] upward for the intelligent, in order that he may avoid the nether world beneath. (Sheol )
Thou shalt smite him with the rodde, and shalt deliuer his soule from hell. (Sheol )
Thou wilt indeed beat him with the rod; but thou wilt deliver his soul from perdition. (Sheol )
The graue and destruction can neuer be full, so the eyes of man can neuer be satisfied. (Sheol )
The nether world and the place of corruption are never satisfied: so are the eyes of man never satisfied. (Sheol )
The graue, and the barren wombe, the earth that cannot be satisfied with water, and the fire that sayeth not, It is ynough. (Sheol )
The nether world; and a barren womb; the earth which is not satisfied with water; and the fire which never saith, Enough. (Sheol )
All that thine hand shall finde to doe, doe it with all thy power: for there is neither worke nor inuention, nor knowledge, nor wisedome in the graue whither thou goest. (Sheol )
Whatsoever thy hand findeth to do with thy might, that do; for there is no work, nor experience, nor knowledge, nor wisdom, in the nether world, whither thou goest.— (Sheol )
Set mee as a seale on thine heart, and as a signet vpon thine arme: for loue is strong as death: ielousie is cruel as the graue: the coles thereof are fierie coles, and a vehement flame. (Sheol )
Set me as a seal upon thy heart, as a seal upon thy arm; for strong as death is love; violent like the nether world is jealousy; its heat is the heat of fire, a flame of God. (Sheol )
Therefore hell hath inlarged it selfe, and hath opened his mouth, without measure, and their glorie, and their multitude, and their pompe, and hee that reioyceth among them, shall descend into it. (Sheol )
Therefore hath the deep enlarged her desire, and opened her mouth without measure: and there descend [Jerusalem's] glory, and her multitude, and her noise, and whoever rejoiced therein. (Sheol )
Aske a signe for thee of the Lord thy God: aske it, either in the depth beneath or in the height aboue. (Sheol )
Ask thee a sign from the Lord thy God; ask it in the depth, or high up above. (Sheol )
Hel beneath is mooued for thee to meete thee at thy comming, raising vp the deade for thee, euen all the princes of the earth, and hath raised from their thrones all the Kinges of the nations. (Sheol )
The nether world from below is in motion concerning thee to meet thee at thy coming: it stirreth up the departed for thee, all the chief ones of the earth; it hath caused to rise up from their thrones all the kings of nations. (Sheol )
Thy pompe is brought downe to ye graue, and the sounde of thy violes: the worme is spred vnder thee, and the wormes couer thee. (Sheol )
Into the nether world is brought down thy pride, the clatter of thy psalteries: beneath thee is spread the worm, and thy cover is the moth. (Sheol )
But thou shalt bee brought downe to the graue, to the sides of the pit. (Sheol )
But into the nether world shalt thou be brought down, into the lowest depth. (Sheol )
Because ye haue said, We haue made a couenant with death, and with hell are we at agreement: though a scourge runne ouer, and passe through, it shall not come at vs: for we haue made falshood our refuge, and vnder vanitie are we hid, (Sheol )
Because ye have said, “We have entered into a covenant with death, and with the nether world have we made an agreement; the overflowing scourge, when it passeth by, shall not come at us; for we have made lies our refuge, and under falsehood have we sought a hiding-place.” (Sheol )
And your couenant with death shalbe disanulled, and your agreement with hell shall not stand: when a scourge shall runne ouer and passe through, then shall ye be trode downe by it. (Sheol )
And your covenant with death shall be annulled, and your agreement with the nether world shall not have permanence; the overflowing scourge, when it passeth by—then shall ye be trodden down by it. (Sheol )
I saide in the cutting off of my dayes, I shall goe to the gates of the graue: I am depriued of the residue of my yeeres. (Sheol )
I had said, In the midst of my days, must I enter the gates of the nether world; I am deprived of the residue of my years. (Sheol )
For the graue cannot confesse thee: death cannot praise thee: they that goe downe into the pit, cannot hope for thy trueth. (Sheol )
For the nether world will not thank thee, death will not praise thee: they that go down into the pit will not hope for thy truth. (Sheol )
Thou wentest to the Kings with oyle, and diddest increase thine oyntments and sende thy messengers farre off, and diddest humble thy selfe vnto hell. (Sheol )
And thou didst show thyself unto the king without ointment, and thou didst multiply thy perfumes, and thou didst send out thy messengers even into the far-off distance, and didst debase thyself even down to the nether world. (Sheol )
Thus saith the Lord God, In the day when he went downe to hell, I caused them to mourne, and I couered the deepe for him, and I did restreine the floods thereof, and the great waters were stayed: I caused Lebanon to mourne for him, and all the trees of the fielde fainted. (Sheol )
Thus hath said the Lord Eternal, On the day when it went down to the grave I caused a mourning; I covered the deep for its sake, and I restrained its rivers, and the great waters were withheld; and I caused Lebanon to be clothed in black attire for its sake, and all the trees of the field were famished because of it. (Sheol )
I made the nations to shake at the sound of his fall, when I cast him downe to hell with them that descend into the pit, and all the excellent trees of Eden, and the best of Lebanon: euen all that are nourished with waters, shall be comforted in the nether partes of the earth. (Sheol )
Through the noise of its downfall I caused nations to quake, when I cast it down into the tomb with the [others] that descend into the pit: and in the land of the nether world comforted themselves all the trees of 'Eden, the choice and best of Lebanon, all that were nourished by water. (Sheol )
They also went downe to hell with him vnto them that be slaine with the sworde, and his arme, and they that dwelt vnder his shadowe in the middes of the heathen. (Sheol )
They also went down with it into the tomb unto those that were slain with the sword, and its helpers that had dwelt under its shade in the midst of the nations. (Sheol )
The most mighty and strong shall speake to him out of the mids of hell with them that helpe her: they are gone downe and sleepe with the vncircumcised that be slaine by the sworde. (Sheol )
Then will speak of him the strongest among the mighty out of the midst of the nether world with those that once helped him, They are gone down, there lie the uncircumcised, —slain by the sword. (Sheol )
And they shall not lie with the valiant of the vncircumcised, that are fallen, which are gone down to the graue, with their weapons of warre, and haue laied their swords vnder their heads, but their iniquitie shalbe vpon their bones: because they were the feare of the mighty in the lande of the liuing. (Sheol )
And those who are fallen of the uncircumcised shall not lie with the mighty, who are gone down to the nether world with their weapons of war, while men laid their swords under their heads, and the [instruments of] their iniquities were upon their bones; for the terror of the mighty was in the land of the living. (Sheol )
I wil redeeme them from the power of the graue: I will deliuer them from death: O death, I wil be thy death: O graue, I will be thy destruction: repentance is hid from mine eyes. (Sheol )
From the power of the grave would I ransom them, from death would I redeem them; [but now] where are thy plagues, O death, where is thy pestilence, O grave? compassion shall be hidden from my eyes. (Sheol )
Though they digge into the hell, thence shall mine hande take them: though they clime vp to heauen, thence will I bring them downe. (Sheol )
Though they were to creep down into the nether world, thence would my hand fetch them; and though they were to climb up to the heavens, thence would I bring them down; (Sheol )
And said, I cryed in mine affliction vnto the Lord, and he heard me: out of the bellie of hell cryed I, and thou heardest my voyce. (Sheol )
And he said, I called from the midst of my distress unto the Lord, and he hath answered me: out of the depth of the grave have I cried, and thou hast heard my voice. (Sheol )
Yea, in deede the proude man is as hee that transgresseth by wine: therefore shall he not endure, because he hath enlarged his desire as the hell, and is as death, and can not be satisfied, but gathereth vnto him all nations, and heapeth vnto him all people. (Sheol )
And though the wine-[drunken] traitor, the proud man, whose house will not stand, who enlargeth his desire as the grave, and is like death, which cannot be satisfied, —though he gather unto him all the nations, and assemble unto him all the people: (Sheol )
But I say vnto you, whosoeuer is angry with his brother vnaduisedly, shalbe culpable of iudgment. And whosoeuer sayth vnto his brother, Raca, shalbe worthy to be punished by the Councill. And whosoeuer shall say, Foole, shalbe worthy to be punished with hell fire. (Geenna )
