Malachi 3
1 Behold, I will send my messenger, and he shall prepare the way before me: and the Lord whom ye seeke, shall speedely come to his Temple: euen the messenger of the couenant whom ye desire: beholde, he shall come, sayth the Lord of hostes.
“আমি আমার বার্তাবাহককে পাঠাব, যে আমার আগে পথ তৈরি করবে। তারপর, প্রভু, যাঁকে তোমরা খুঁজছ, হঠাৎ তিনি নিজের মন্দিরে আসবেন; যিনি নিয়মের দূত, যাঁকে তোমরা চাও, তিনি আসবেন,” সর্বশক্তিমান সদাপ্রভু বলেন।
2 But who may abide the day of his comming? and who shall endure, when he appeareth? for he is like a purging fire, and like fullers sope.
কিন্তু তাঁর আসবার দিন কে সহ্য করতে পারবে? যখন তিনি আবির্ভূত হবেন কে তাঁর সামনে দাঁড়াবে? কারণ তিনি হবেন জ্বলন্ত আগুনের শিখার মতো যা ধাতুকে পরীক্ষাসিদ্ধ করে অথবা কড়া সাবানের মতো কাপড় পরিষ্কার করে।
3 And he shall sit downe to trye and fine the siluer: he shall euen fine the sonnes of Leui and purifie them as golde and siluer, that they may bring offerings vnto the Lord in righteousnesse.
রুপোকে পরিশোধন ও পবিত্র করার মতো তিনি বসবেন; তিনি লেবীয়দের পবিত্র করবেন এবং তাদের সোনা ও রুপোর মতো পরিশোধন করবেন, যেন তারা পুনরায় সদাপ্রভুর কাছে গ্রহণযোগ্য নৈবেদ্য উৎসর্গ করতে পারে,
4 Then shall the offerings of Iudah and Ierusalem be acceptable vnto the Lord, as in old time and in the yeeres afore.
তখন যিহূদার ও জেরুশালেমের নৈবেদ্য সদাপ্রভুর কাছে গ্রহণযোগ্য হবে, যেমন আগেকার সময়ে, পূর্ববর্তী বছরে তিনি গ্রহণ করতেন।
5 And I will come neere to you to iudgement, and I will be a swift witnesse against the southsayers, and against the adulterers, and against false swearers, and against those that wrongfully keepe backe the hirelings wages, and vexe the widowe, and the fatherlesse, and oppresse the stranger, and feare not me, sayth the Lord of hostes.
সর্বশক্তিমান সদাপ্রভু বলেন, “তাই আমি তোমাদের বিচার করতে আসব। আর জাদুকর, ব্যভিচারী এবং মিথ্যাশপথকারী, যারা শ্রমিকদের বেতনে ঠকায় এবং বিধবা ও অনাথদের অত্যাচার করে, বিদেশিদের ন্যায় থেকে বঞ্চিত করে, অথচ আমাকে ভয় করে না, তাদের সকলের বিপক্ষে আমি দ্রুত সাক্ষী দেব।”
6 For I am the Lord: I change not, and ye sonnes of Iaakob are not consumed.
“আমি সদাপ্রভু, আমার পরিবর্তন নেই। সেই কারণেই হে যাকোবের বংশধর, তোমরা ধ্বংস হওনি।
7 From the dayes of your fathers, ye are gone away from mine ordinances, and haue not kept them: returne vnto me, and I will returne vnto you, saith the Lord of hostes: but ye saide, Wherein shall we returne?
তোমাদের পূর্বপুরুষদের সময় থেকেই তোমরা আমার আদেশ থেকে বিপথে গিয়েছ এবং সেগুলি পালন করোনি। আমার কাছে ফিরে এসো এবং আমিও তোমাদের কাছে ফিরে যাব,” সর্বশক্তিমান সদাপ্রভু বলেন। “কিন্তু তোমরা বলো, ‘আমরা কীভাবে ফিরব?’
8 Will a man spoyle his gods? yet haue ye spoyled me: but ye say, Wherein haue we spoyled thee? In tithes, and offerings.
“মরণশীল মানুষ কি কখনও ঈশ্বরকে ঠকাতে পারে? তবুও তোমরা আমাকে ঠকাও। “কিন্তু তোমরা জিজ্ঞাসা করো, ‘আমরা কীভাবে তোমাকে ঠকাচ্ছি?’ “দশমাংশে ও উপহারে।
9 Ye are cursed with a curse: for ye haue spoyled me, euen this whole nation.
তোমরা অভিশাপের মধ্যে আছ, তোমার সমস্ত জাতি, কারণ তোমরা আমাকে ঠকাচ্ছো
10 Bring ye all the tythes into the storehouse that there may be meate in mine House, and proue me nowe herewith, sayeth the Lord of hostes, if I will not open the windowes of heauen vnto you, and powre you out a blessing without measure.
তোমরা সমস্ত দশমাংশ আমার ভাণ্ডারে নিয়ে এসো যেন আমার গৃহে খাদ্য থাকে।” সর্বশক্তিমান সদাপ্রভু বলেন, “এবং দেখো আমি স্বর্গের সব দরজা তোমাদের জন্য খুলে দিয়ে অনেক আশীর্বাদ ঢেলে দিই কি না যা ধরে রাখার জন্য যথেষ্ট জায়গা হবে না।
11 And I will rebuke the deuourer for your sakes, and he shall not destroy the fruite of your grounde, neither shall your vine be baren in the fielde, sayeth the Lord of hostes.
সমস্ত কীটপতঙ্গদের হাত থেকে আমি তোমাদের ফসল রক্ষা করব এবং তোমার জমির আঙুরগাছের ফল পেকে ওঠার আগে ঝরে পরবে না,” সর্বশক্তিমান সদাপ্রভু বলেন।
12 And all nations shall call you blessed: for ye shall be a pleasant lande, sayeth the Lord of hostes.
“তখন সব জাতি তোমাদের ধন্য বলবে, কারণ তোমাদের দেশ এক আনন্দময় দেশ হবে,” সর্বশক্তিমান সদাপ্রভু বলেন।
13 Your wordes haue bene stout against me, sayeth the Lord: yet ye say, What haue we spoken against thee?
“তোমরা আমার বিরুদ্ধে অহংকারের সাথে কথা বলেছ,” সদাপ্রভু বলেন। “তবুও তোমরা জিজ্ঞাসা করো, ‘আমরা তোমার বিরুদ্ধে কি বলেছি?’
14 Ye haue saide, It is in vaine to serue God: and what profite is it that we haue kept his commandement, and that we walked humbly before the Lord of hostes?
“তোমরা বলেছ, ‘ঈশ্বরের সেবা করা অর্থহীন। তাঁর আদেশ পালন করে কী লাভ হয় এবং সর্বশক্তিমান সদাপ্রভুর সাক্ষাতে শোকে যাওয়া-আসা করে আমাদের কী লাভ?
15 Therefore wee count the proude blessed: euen they that worke wickednesse, are set vp, and they that tempt God, yea, they are deliuered.
কিন্তু এখন আমরা অহংকারীকে ধন্য বলি। নিশ্চয়ই দুষ্ট আচরণকারী সমৃদ্ধিলাভ করে, এমনকি যখন তারা ঈশ্বরকে পরীক্ষায় ফেলে, তারা তা করেও রক্ষা পায়।’”
16 Then spake they that feared the Lord, euery one to his neighbour, and the Lord hearkened and heard it, and a booke of remembrance was written before him for them that feared the Lord, and that thought vpon his Name.
তারপর যারা সদাপ্রভুকে ভয় করত তারা একে অপরের সাথে কথা বলল এবং সদাপ্রভু তাদের কথা মন দিয়ে শুনলেন। যারা সদাপ্রভুকে ভয় ও তাঁর নাম সম্মান করত, তাদের সম্মন্ধে স্মরণীয় পুঁথি তাঁর সামনে লেখা হল।
17 And they shall be to me, sayeth the Lord of hostes, in that day that I shall do this, for a flocke, and I will spare them, as a man spareth his owne sonne that serueth him.
“সেদিন যখন আমি আমার কাজ করব,” সর্বশক্তিমান সদাপ্রভু বলেন, তারা আমার প্রিয় অধিকার হবে। আমি তাদের প্রতি ক্ষমাপরায়ণ হব, যেমন একজন বাবা তার সেবায় রত ছেলেকে করুণার চোখে দেখে এবং তার প্রতি ক্ষমাপরায়ণ হয়।
18 Then shall you returne, and discerne betweene the righteous and wicked, betweene him that serueth God, and him that serueth him not.
আর তোমরা আবার ধার্মিক ও দুষ্টদের মধ্যে পার্থক্য দেখতে পাবে, যারা ঈশ্বরের সেবা করে ও যারা করে না তাদের মধ্যে পার্থক্য দেখতে পাবে।
