Jeremiah 29
1 Now these are the wordes of the booke that Ieremiah the Prophet sent from Ierusalem vnto the residue of the Elders which were caryed away captiues, and to the Priestes, and to the Prophets, and to all the people whome Nebuchad-nezzar had caried away captiue from Ierusalem to Babel:
Ihe ndị a bụ ihe dị nʼakwụkwọ ozi Jeremaya onye amụma si Jerusalem degaara ndị fọdụrụ ndụ nʼetiti ndị okenye, na ndị nchụaja, na ndị amụma, na ndị Izrel Nebukadneza dọtara nʼagha si na Jerusalem bulaa ha Babilọn.
2 (After that Ieconiah the King, and the Queene, and the eunuches, the princes of Iudah, and of Ierusalem, and the workemen, and cunning men were departed from Ierusalem)
Nke a bụ mgbe eze Jehoiakin, nne eze, ndị ozi nʼụlọeze, ndị ndu Juda na Jerusalem, ndị ọka, na ndị ụzụ sitere na Jerusalem dọta ha nʼagha buru ha gaa mba ọzọ.
3 By the hand of Elasah the sonne of Shaphan and Gemariah the sonne of Hilkiah, (whom Zedekiah King of Iudah sent vnto Babel to Nebuchad-nezzar King of Babel) saying,
Onye Jeremaya nyere akwụkwọ ozi a ka o nyeruo ndị e deere ya bụ Eleasa nwa Shefan, na Gemaraya nwa Hilkaya, ndị Zedekaya eze Juda zigara Babilọn izi Nebukadneza bụ eze ozi.
4 Thus hath the Lord of hostes the God of Israel spoken vnto all that are caryed away captiues, whome I haue caused to be caryed away captiues from Ierusalem vnto Babel:
Ihe ndị a ka Onyenwe anyị, Onye pụrụ ime ihe niile, bụ Chineke Izrel na-agwa ndị niile m mere ka e si na Jerusalem dọta nʼagha buru laa Babilọn,
5 Buylde you houses to dwell in, and plant you gardens, and eate the fruites of them.
“Wuoronụ onwe unu ụlọ, birikwanụ nʼime ya; kụọnụ ihe nʼubi a gbara ogige, riekwa mkpụrụ si na ya;
6 Take you wiues, and beget sonnes and daughters, and take wiues for your sonnes, and giue your daughters to husbands, that they may beare sonnes and daughters, that ye may bee increased there, and not diminished.
lụọnụ nwunye, mụọkwanụ ụmụ ndị ikom na ụmụ ndị inyom; lụọkwaranụ ụmụ unu ndị ikom nwunye, kwenyekwanụ ka ụmụ unu ndị inyom lụọ di, ka ha mụọkwa ụmụ ndị ikom na ụmụ ndị inyom. Mụbaanụ nʼebe ahụ, unu ebilatakwala.
7 And seeke the prosperitie of the citie, whither I haue caused you to be caried away captiues, and pray vnto the Lord for it: for in the peace thereof shall you haue peace.
Chọọnụ udo nke obodo ahụ m mere ka unu gaa biri nʼime ya. Kpeekwanụ ekpere nye Onyenwe anyị banyere ya. Nʼihi na ọ bụrụ na ihe agaara obodo ahụ nke ọma, ọ ga-agakwara unu nke ọma.”
8 For thus saith the Lord of hostes the God of Israel, Let not your prophets, and your southsayers that bee among you, deceiue you, neither giue eare to your dreames, which you dreame.
Nʼihi na ihe ndị a ka Onyenwe anyị, Onye pụrụ ime ihe niile bụ Chineke Izrel kwuru, “Unu ekwela ka ndị amụma ahụ nọ nʼetiti unu, na ndị na-ajụ arụsị ase rafuo unu; unu egela ntị nʼakụkọ ha na-akọ banyere nrọ ndị ahụ unu na-akwagide ha ka ha rọọ.
9 For they prophecie you a lie in my Name: I haue not sent them, saith the Lord.
Nʼihi na amụma ha na-ebu nʼaha m bụ amụma ụgha. Ọ bụkwaghị m zitere ha.” Otu a ka Onyenwe anyị kwupụtara.
10 But thus saith the Lord, That after seuentie yeeres be accomplished at Babel, I will visite you, and performe my good promise toward you, and cause you to returne to this place.
Ihe ndị a ka Onyenwe anyị kwuru, “Mgbe iri afọ asaa m kwadoro maka Babilọn zuru, aga m abịa mezuo nkwa ahụ m kwere. Aga m eme ka unu lọtakwa nʼebe a.
11 For I knowe the thoughtes, that I haue thought towards you, saith the Lord, euen the thoughtes of peace, and not of trouble, to giue you an ende, and your hope.
Nʼihi na mụ onwe m maara echiche niile m na-eche banyere unu,” ka Onyenwe anyị kwubiri, “echiche ime ka ihe gaara unu nke ọma, ọ bụkwaghị echiche ime unu ihe ọjọọ, echiche ime ka unu nwee ezi ọdịnihu, na olileanya kwesiri ntụkwasị obi.
12 Then shall you crie vnto mee, and ye shall go and pray vnto me, and I will heare you,
Mgbe ahụ, unu ga-abịakwute m, unu ga-abịa kpọkuokwa m nʼekpere, aga m egekwa unu ntị.
13 And ye shall seeke mee and finde mee, because ye shall seeke mee with all your heart.
Unu ga-achọsikwa m ike, chọta m ma ọ bụrụ na unu ejiri obi unu niile chọọ m.
14 And I wil be found of you, saith the Lord, and I will turne away your captiuitie, and I will gather you from all the nations, and from all the places, whither I haue cast you, saith the Lord, and will bring you againe vnto the place, whence I caused you to be caryed away captiue.
Aga m emekwa ka unu chọta m,” otu a ka Onyenwe anyị kwubiri, “meekwa ka unu bụ ndị a dọtara nʼagha lọta. Aga m esitekwa na mba ahụ niile m chụgara unu chịkọtaa unu, kpọghachitekwa unu nʼebe ahụ m si chụpụ unu.” Otu a ka Onyenwe anyị kwubiri ya.
15 Because ye haue sayd, The Lord hath raised vs vp Prophets in Babel,
Unu pụrụ ị sị, “Onyenwe anyị akpọlite ndị amụma nye anyị na Babilọn.”
16 Therefore thus saith the Lord of the King, that sitteth vpon the throne of Dauid, and of all the people, that dwell in this citie, your brethren that are not gone forth with you into captiuitie:
Ma ihe ndị a ka Onyenwe anyị na-ekwu banyere eze ahụ na-anọkwasị nʼocheeze Devid, na banyere ndị mmadụ niile fọdụrụ nʼobodo a, bụ ụmụnne unu ndị ahụ na-esoghị unu gaa ebe e mere ka ha ga biri na mba ọzọ.
17 Euen thus sayth the Lord of hostes, Beholde, I will sende vpon them the sworde, the famine, and the pestilence, and will make them like vile figges, that cannot bee eaten, they are so naughtie.
E, ihe ndị a ka Onyenwe anyị, Onye pụrụ ime ihe niile kwuru, “Aga m eziga mma agha nʼetiti ha, zigakwa ụnwụ na ọrịa na-efe efe. Aga m eme ha ka ha dị ka mkpụrụ fiig jọgburu onwe ya, nke mmadụ na-agaghị ata ata.
18 And I will persecute them with the sword, with the famine, and with the pestilence: and I will make them a terror to all kingdomes of the earth, and a curse, and astonishment and an hissing, and a reproche among all the nations whither I haue cast them,
Aga m eji mma agha, na ụnwụ, na ọrịa na-efe efe, chụọ ha ọsọ. Aga m eme ha ka ha bụrụ ihe alaeze niile nke ụwa ga na-asọ oyi. Ha ga-abụ ihe ịbụ ọnụ, na ihe iju anya, na ihe nkọcha, na ihe ịta ụta nʼetiti mba niile ebe m ga-achụla ha ọsọ.
19 Because they haue not hearde my words, saith the Lord, which I sent vnto them by my seruantes the Prophetes, rising vp earely, and sending them, but yee woulde not heare, saith the Lord.
Nʼihi na ha egeghị ntị nʼokwu m, bụ okwu si nʼọnụ ndị ohu m bụ ndị amụma, ndị m zigaara ha mgbe mgbe. Ma unu onwe unu, ndị bi na mba ọzọ egekwaghị ntị nʼokwu m.” Otu a ka Onyenwe anyị kwubiri.
20 Heare ye therefore the word of the Lord all ye of the captiuitie, whome I haue sent from Ierusalem to Babel.
Ya mere, nụrụnụ okwu Onyenwe anyị, unu niile bụ ndị m mere ka e si na Jerusalem dọta nʼagha gaa Babilọn.
21 Thus saith the Lord of hostes, the God of Israel, of Ahab the sonne of Kolaiah, and of Zedekiah the sonne of Maaseiah, which prophecie lyes vnto you in my Name, Beholde, I will deliuer them into the hande of Nebuchad-nezzar King of Babel, and he shall slay them before your eyes.
Ihe ndị a ka Onyenwe anyị, Onye pụrụ ime ihe niile, bụ Chineke Izrel na-ekwu banyere Ehab nwa Kolaya, na Zedekaya nwa Maaseia, ndị na-ebu amụma ụgha nʼaha m, “Aga m ewere ha nyefee nʼaka Nebukadneza bụ eze Babilọn. Ọ ga-etigbukwa ha nʼihu unu.
22 And al they of the captiuitie of Iudah, that are in Babel, shall take vp this curse against them, and say, The Lord make thee like Zedekiah and like Ahab, whome the King of Babel burnt in the fire,
Nʼihi ha, ndị niile e si Juda dọta nʼagha buru gaa Babilọn ga na-ekwu okwu nkọcha sị, ‘Ka Onyenwe anyị mesokwa gị ụdị mmeso o mesoro Zedekaya na Ehab, ndị eze Babilọn tụnyere nʼọkụ nke regburu ha.’
23 Because they haue committed vilenie in Israel, and haue committed adulterie with their neighbours wiues, and haue spoken lying words in my Name, which I haue not commanded them, euen I knowe it, and testifie it, saith the Lord.
Nʼihi na ha emeela ihe ndị jọgburu onwe ya na njọ nʼIzrel; ha na nwunye ndị agbataobi ha akwaala iko; ha esitekwala nʼaha m buo amụma ụgha, amụma nke m na-enyeghị ha iwu ibu. Amaara m na ihe ndị a bụ eziokwu, nʼihi na ahụrụ m ya.” Otu a ka Onyenwe anyị kwubiri.
24 Thou shalt also speake to Shemaiah the Nehelamite, saying,
Gwa Shemaya onye Nehelam okwu sị ya,
25 Thus speaketh the Lord of hostes, the God of Israel, saying, Because thou hast sent letters in thy Name vnto all the people, that are at Ierusalem, and to Zephaniah the sonne of Maaseiah the Priest, and to all the Priests, saying,
Otu a ka Onyenwe anyị, Onye pụrụ ime ihe niile, bụ Chineke Izrel kwuru, “I dere akwụkwọ zigara ndị niile bi na Jerusalem, ha na Zefanaya nwa Maaseia onye nchụaja, na ndị nchụaja ndị ọzọ. Ị gwara Zefanaya okwu nʼakwụkwọ ahụ sị ya,
26 The Lord hath made thee Priest for Iehoiada the Priest, that yee should bee officers in the House of the Lord, for euery man that raueth and maketh himselfe a Prophet, to put him in prison and in the stockes.
‘Onyenwe anyị ahọpụtala gị mee gị onye nchụaja ga-anọchi anya Jehoiada. Nʼihi ya, ị bụrụla onyeisi ụlọnsọ ukwu Onyenwe anyị. Ya mere, o kwesiri ka i jide onye ara ọbụla na-akpọ onwe ya onye amụma, manye ya agbụ igwe nʼụkwụ, na nʼolu ya.
27 Nowe therefore why hast not thou reproued Ieremiah of Anathoth, which prophecieth vnto you?
Gịnị mere i ji hapụ ịbasiri Jeremaya, onye Anatot mba ike, onye na-eme onwe ya onye amụma nʼetiti unu?
28 For, for this cause hee sent vnto vs in Babel, saying, This captiuitie is long: buyld houses to dwell in, and plant gardens, and eate the fruites of them.
O ziterela anyị ozi dị otu a na Babilọn sị anyị, Unu ga-anọ nʼebe ahụ tee anya. Ya mere, wuoronụ onwe unu ụlọ, birikwanụ nʼime ya. Kụọnụ ihe nʼubi, riekwanụ ihe si nʼubi unu.’”
29 And Zephaniah the Priest red this letter in the eares of Ieremiah the Prophet.
Zefanaya bụ onye nchụaja, gụrụ akwụkwọ ozi ahụ nʼihu Jeremaya, bụ onye amụma.
30 Then came the worde of the Lord vnto Ieremiah, saying,
Mgbe ahụ, okwu Onyenwe anyị bịakwutere Jeremaya, sị,
31 Send to all them of the captiuitie, saying, Thus saith the Lord of Shemaiah the Nehelamite, Because that Shemaiah hath prophecied vnto you, and I sent him not, and hee caused you to trust in a lye,
“Zigara ndị ahụ niile e mere ka ha gaa biri na mba ọzọ ozi sị ha, ‘Ihe ndị a ka Onyenwe anyị kwuru banyere Shemaya onye Nehelam, Ebe ọ bụ na Shemaya ebuorola unu amụma mee ka unu tụkwasị obi unu nʼokwu ụgha ya, ma ọ bụghị m ziri ya,
32 Therefore thus saieth the Lord, Behold, I wil visite Shemaiah the Nehelamite, and his seede: hee shall not haue a man to dwell among this people, neither shall he beholde the good, that I will doe for my people, sayth the Lord, because he hath spoken rebelliously against the Lord.

Ọ gaghị esokwa unu lekwasị anya nʼihe ọma ahụ niile m na-akwado imere ndị m, nʼihi na o kwusara nnupu isi megide Onyenwe anyị. Otu a ka Onyenwe anyị kwubiri.’”
