Isaiah 28
1 Woe to the crowne of pride, the drunkards of Ephraim: for his glorious beautie shall be a fading flowre, which is vpon the head of the valley of them that be fat, and are ouercome with wine.
Ein Wehe jener stolzen Krone der Trunkenbolde Ephraims, dem wohlbesprengten Blumenkranz und seinem wunderschönen Schmuck, der auf dem Haupt des früchtereichen Tales liegt, der auf dem Haupte der vom Weine Trunkenen ist!
2 Beholde, the Lord hath a mightie and strong hoste, like a tempest of haile, and a whirlewinde that ouerthroweth, like a tempest of mightie waters that ouerflowe, which throwe to the ground mightily.
Einen Mächtigen und Starken hält der Herr gleich Hagel und Verderbens Sturm bereit. Gleichwie ein Schwall gewaltiger Wassergüsse, so wirft er rücklings sie zu Boden.
3 They shall be troden vnder foote, euen the crowne and the pride of the drunkards of Ephraim.
Mit Füßen wird getreten die stolze Krone dieser Trunkenbolde Ephraims.
4 For his glorious beautie shall be a fading floure, which is vpon the head of the valley of them that be fatte, and as the hastie fruite afore sommer, which when hee that looketh vpon it, seeth it, while it is in his hand, he eateth it.
Dem wohlbesprengten Blumenkranz und seinem wunderschönen Schmuck, der auf dem Haupt des früchtereichen Tales ist, ergeht es wie der frühen Feige vor dem Sommer. Wer sie erblickt, der pflückt sie ab und hat sie schon verschlungen. Kaum hat er sie in seiner Hand, verschlingt er sie. -
5 In that day shall the Lord of hostes be for a crowne of glory, and for a diademe of beautie vnto the residue of his people:
An jenem Tage ist der Heeresscharen Herr selbst eine schmucke Krone, ein wundervolles Diadem dem Reste seines Volkes.
6 And for a spirite of iudgement to him that sitteth in iudgement, and for strength vnto them that turne away the battell to the gate.
Und mit dem Geiste der Gerechtigkeit beseelt er den, der auf dem Richterstuhle sitzt, mit Tapferkeit die Männer, die den Kampf zum Tor zurückdrängen.
7 But they haue erred because of wine, and are out of the way by strong drinke: the priest and the prophet haue erred by strong drinke: they are swallowed vp with wine: they haue gone astraye through strong drinke: they faile in vision: they stumble in iudgement.
Doch diese wanken auch vom Wein und taumeln von dem Biere. Vom Biere wanken Priester und Propheten; vom Weine werden sie verwirrt. Sie taumeln von dem Biere; beim Schauen wanken sie; schwanken beim Schlichten.
8 For all their tables are full of filthy vomiting: no place is cleane.
Die Tische alle voller Unrat, voll Unflat bis zum letzten Platze!
9 Whome shall he teache knowledge? and whome shall he make to vnderstand the thinges that hee heareth? them that are weyned from the milke, and drawen from the breastes.
Wen kann man da Erkenntnis lehren und wem die Offenbarung deuten? Allein noch den der Milch Entwöhnten, nur den der Brust Entwachsenen!
10 For precept must be vpon precept, precept vpon precept, line vnto line, line vnto line, there a litle, and there a litle.
"Saw lasaw, saw lasaw, kaw lakaw, kaw lakaw", das heißt: "Nichts als Befehlen und nichts als Warten!" - Kurzformen hier und dort.
11 For with a stammering tongue and with a strange language shall he speake vnto this people.
Jawohl! In solch unschöner Rede, in einer fremden Sprache wird er zu diesem Volke reden,
12 Vnto whome hee saide, This is the rest: giue rest to him that is weary: and this is the refreshing, but they would not heare.
er, der zu ihm gesprochen hat: "Kriegsruhe ist nur dies: Den Müden gönnet Ruhe! Nur dann gibt's Friedenszeit." Sie aber wollen nimmer hören.
13 Therefore shall the worde of the Lord be vnto them precept vpon precept, precept vpon precept, line vnto line, line vnto line, there a litle and there a litle, that they may goe, and fall backward, and be broken, and be snared, and be taken.
An sie ergeht deshalb des Herren Wort: "Saw lasaw; saw lasaw, kaw lakaw, kaw lakaw", "Schon angeordnet! Nur warten, warten!" - Kurzformen hier und dort, - daß sie auf ihrem Wege strauchelnd rücklings fallen und sich zerschmettern und, verstrickt, gefangen werden.
14 Wherefore, heare the worde of the Lord, ye scornefull men that rule this people, which is at Ierusalem.
Des Spottes Männer, hört daher das Wort des Herrn, Gebieter dieses Volks, die zu Jerusalem ihr weilt!
15 Because ye haue said, We haue made a couenant with death, and with hell are we at agreement: though a scourge runne ouer, and passe through, it shall not come at vs: for we haue made falshood our refuge, and vnder vanitie are we hid, (Sheol h7585)
Zwar saget ihr: "Wir schließen mit dem Tode einen Bund und machen mit der Unterwelt Verträge. Wenn des Verderbens Flut hier einbricht, uns erreicht sie nicht. Denn Lügen machen wir zu unsrer Burg, verstecken uns in Trug." (Sheol h7585)
16 Therefore thus saith the Lord God, Behold, I will laye in Zion a stone, a tried stone, a precious corner stone, a sure foundation. Hee that beleeueth, shall not make haste.
Dagegen spricht der Herr: "Schon gründe ich in Sion einen Stein, solch einen Stein, gar wohl erprobt, solch einen Eckstein, köstlich für die Gründung, ein fester Grund, der sich nicht ändert.
17 Iudgement also will I laye to the rule, and righteousnesse to the balance, and the haile shall sweepe away the vaine confidence, and the waters shall ouerflowe the secret place.
Und ich bestimme Recht zur Meßschnur, Gerechtigkeit zur Waage. Die Lügenburg schlägt Hagel nieder, und Wasser überschwemmt den Unterschlupf."
18 And your couenant with death shalbe disanulled, and your agreement with hell shall not stand: when a scourge shall runne ouer and passe through, then shall ye be trode downe by it. (Sheol h7585)
Und euer Bündnis mit dem Tod wird aufgehoben, und eure Übereinkunft mit der Unterwelt, sie gilt nicht mehr. Wenn des Verderbens Flut herflutet, werdet ihr davon vernichtet. (Sheol h7585)
19 When it passeth ouer, it shall take you away: for it shall passe through euery morning in the day, and in the night, and there shalbe onely feare to make you to vnderstand the hearing.
Wenn sie herströmt, schwemmt sie euch fort, sei's morgens, dann am Morgen. Wenn sie bei Tag, bei Nacht herflutet, nur mit Schauder hört man diese Kunde. -
20 For the bed is streight that it can not suffice, and the couering narowe that one can not wrappe himselfe.
Zu kurz ist dann das Bett, euch darin auszustrecken, zu schmal die Decke, euch dareinzuwickeln. -
21 For the Lord shall stand as in mount Perazim: hee shall be wroth as in the valley of Gibeon, that he may do his worke, his strage worke, and bring to passe his acte, his strange acte.
Wie einst am Berge Perasim, wird sich der Herr erheben. Wie in der Ebene von Gibeon, so wird er donnern, um seine Tat zu tun, sein so befremdlich Werk, um so sein Werk zu wirken, sein seltsam Unterfangen.
22 Nowe therefore be no mockers, least your bondes increase: for I haue heard of the Lord of hostes a consumption, euen determined vpon the whole earth.
Deswegen spöttelt nicht darüber. Sonst werden eure Fesseln sich verstärken. Verheerung, wenn auch kurze, vernahm ich von dem Herrn, der Heeresscharen Herrn, für dieses ganze Land.
23 Hearken ye, and heare my voyce: hearken ye, and heare my speach.
Horcht auf! Auf meine Stimme hört! Merkt auf! Hört meine Rede!
24 Doeth the plowe man plowe all the day, to sowe? doeth he open, and breake the clots of his ground?
Pflügt einer denn beim Saatgeschäft den ganzen Tag? Umbricht er nur und eggt sein Ackerland?
25 When he hath made it plaine, wil he not then sowe the fitches, and sowe cummin, and cast in wheat by measure, and the appointed barly and rye in their place?
Nicht wahr? Hat er die Fläche eingeebnet, dann streut er Dill, sät Kümmel aus, bestimmt dem Weizen und dem Dinkel, der Gerste und der Hirse sowie dem Emmer jedem seine Felder.
26 For his God doeth instruct him to haue discretion, and doeth teach him.
So unterweist Er ihn im Rechten, sein Gott belehrt ihn so.
27 For fitches shall not be threshed with a threshing instrument, neither shall a cart wheele be turned about vpon the cummin: but ye fitches are beaten out with a staffe, and cummin with a rod.
Denn Dill wird nicht mit Schlitten ausgerieben; auf Kümmel dreht sich nicht das Wagenrad. Der Dill wird mit dem Stecken ausgeklopft, der Kümmel mit dem Stocke.
28 Bread corne when it is threshed, hee doeth not alway thresh it, neither doeth the wheele of his cart still make a noyse, neither will he breake it with the teeth thereof.
Brotkorn wird ausgetreten; doch immerfort drischt man nicht bloß drauf los. Nicht immer drehen sich darauf die Wagenräder; nicht immer treten's seine Rosse aus.
29 This also commeth from the Lord of hostes, which is wonderfull in counsell, and excellent in workes.
Auch dieses geht vom Herrn der Heeresscharen aus. In Plänen ist er wunderbar und groß in ihrer Ausführung.
