Genesis 12
1 For the Lord had said vnto Abram, Get thee out of thy countrey, and from thy kindred, and from thy fathers house vnto the land that I will shewe thee.
Ο δε Κύριος είπε προς τον Άβραμ, Έξελθε εκ της γης σου, και εκ της συγγενείας σου, και εκ του οίκου του πατρός σου, εις την γην την οποίαν θέλω σοι δείξει·
2 And I will make of thee a great nation, and will blesse thee, and make thy name great, and thou shalt be a blessing.
και θέλω σε κάμει εις έθνος μέγα· και θέλω σε ευλογήσει, και θέλω μεγαλύνει το όνομά σου· και θέλεις είσθαι εις ευλογίαν·
3 I will also blesse them that blesse thee, and curse them that curse thee, and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed.
και θέλω ευλογήσει τους ευλογούντάς σε, και τους καταρωμένους σε θέλω καταρασθή· και θέλουσιν ευλογηθή εν σοι πάσαι αι φυλαί της γης.
4 So Abram departed, euen as ye Lord spake vnto him, and Lot went with him. (And Abram was seuentie and fiue yeere olde, when he departed out of Haran)
Και υπήγεν ο Άβραμ, καθώς είπε προς αυτόν ο Κύριος· και μετ' αυτού υπήγε και ο Λώτ· ο δε Άβραμ ήτο ηλικίας εβδομήκοντα πέντε ετών, ότε εξήλθεν από Χαρράν.
5 Then Abram tooke Sarai his wife, and Lot his brothers sonne, and all their substance that they possessed, and the soules that they had gotten in Haran, and they departed, to goe to the land of Canaan: and to the land of Canaan they came.
Και έλαβεν ο Άβραμ Σάραν την γυναίκα αυτού, και Λωτ τον υιόν του αδελφού αυτού, και πάντα τα υπάρχοντα αυτών όσα είχον αποκτήσει, και τους ανθρώπους τους οποίους είχον αποκτήσει εν Χαρράν, και εξήλθον διά να υπάγωσιν εις την γην Χαναάν· και ήλθον εις την γην Χαναάν.
6 So Abram passed through the land vnto the place of Shechem, and vnto the plaine of Moreh (and the Canaanite was then in ye land)
Και διεπέρασεν ο Άβραμ την γην εκείνην έως του τόπου Συχέμ, έως της δρυός Μορέχ· οι δε Χαναναίοι τότε κατώκουν εν τη γη ταύτη.
7 And the Lord appeared vnto Abram, and said, Vnto thy seede will I giue this land. And there builded he an altar vnto the Lord, which appeared vnto him.
Και εφάνη ο Κύριος εις τον Άβραμ και είπεν, Εις το σπέρμα σου θέλω δώσει την γην ταύτην. Και ωκοδόμησεν εκεί θυσιαστήριον εις τον Κύριον, όστις εφάνη εις αυτόν.
8 Afterward remouing thence vnto a moutaine Eastward from Beth-el, he pitched his tent hauing Beth-el on the Westside, and Haai on the East: and there he built an altar vnto the Lord, and called on the Name of the Lord.
Και εκείθεν μετέβη προς το όρος, το κατά ανατολάς της Βαιθήλ, και έστησε την σκηνήν αυτού έχων την Βαιθήλ προς δυσμάς και την Γαί προς ανατολάς· και ωκοδόμησεν εκεί θυσιαστήριον εις τον Κύριον, και επεκαλέσθη το όνομα του Κυρίου.
9 Againe Abram went forth going and iourneying toward the South.
Και μετεσκήνωσεν ο Άβραμ, οδοιπορών και προχωρών προς μεσημβρίαν.
10 Then there came a famine in the land: therefore Abram went downe into Egypt to soiourne there: for there was a great famine in the lande.
Έγεινε δε πείνα εν τη γη ταύτη· και κατέβη ο Άβραμ εις την Αίγυπτον διά να παροικήση εκεί· διότι η πείνα ήτο βαρεία εν τη γη.
11 And when he drewe neere to enter into Egypt, he said to Sarai his wife, Beholde nowe, I know that thou art a faire woman to looke vpon:
Και ότε επλησίαζε να εισέλθη εις την Αίγυπτον, είπε προς Σάραν την γυναίκα αυτού, Ιδού, γνωρίζω ότι είσαι γυνή ευειδής·
12 Therefore it will come to passe, that when the Egyptians see thee, they will say, She is his wife: so will they kill me, but they will keepe thee aliue.
θέλει συμβή λοιπόν, ώστε καθώς σε ίδωσιν οι Αιγύπτιοι, θέλουσιν ειπεί, Γυνή αυτού είναι αύτη· και θέλουσι φονεύσει εμέ, σε δε θέλουσι φυλάξει ζώσαν.
13 Say, I pray thee, that thou art my sister, that I may fare well for thy sake, and that my life may be preserued by thee.
Ειπέ λοιπόν, ότι είσαι αδελφή μου, διά να γείνη καλόν εις εμέ εξ αιτίας σου, και να φυλαχθή η ζωή μου διά σε.
14 Nowe when Abram was come into Egypt, the Egyptians behelde the woman: for she was very faire.
Και ότε εισήλθεν ο Άβραμ εις την Αίγυπτον, είδον οι Αιγύπτιοι την γυναίκα ότι ήτο ώραία σφόδρα.
15 And the Princes of Pharaoh sawe her, and commended her vnto Pharaoh: so the woman was taken into Pharaohs house:
Και οι άρχοντες του Φαραώ είδον αυτήν, και επήνεσαν αυτήν προς τον Φαραώ· και ελήφθη η γυνή εις την οικίαν του Φαραώ.
16 Who intreated Abram well for her sake, and he had sheepe, and beeues, and hee asses, and men seruants and maide seruants, and shee asses, and camelles.
Τον δε Άβραμ μετεχειρίσθησαν καλώς δι' αυτήν· και είχε πρόβατα και βόας και όνους και δούλους και δούλας και όνους θηλυκάς και καμήλους.
17 But the Lord plagued Pharaoh and his house with great plagues, because of Sarai Abrams wife.
Και επέφερεν ο Κύριος επί τον Φαραώ και επί τον οίκον αυτού πληγάς μεγάλας εξ αιτίας Σάρας της γυναικός του Άβραμ.
18 Then Pharaoh called Abram, and saide, Why hast thou done this vnto me? Wherefore diddest thou not tell me, that she was thy wife?
Εκάλεσε δε ο Φαραώ τον Άβραμ, και είπε, Τι είναι τούτο, το οποίον έκαμες εις εμέ; διά τι δεν μ' εφανέρωσας ότι αύτη είναι γυνή σου;
19 Why saidest thou, She is my sister, that I should take her to be my wife? Nowe therefore beholde thy wife, take her and goe thy way.
διά τι είπας, Αδελφή μου είναι αύτη; και έλαβον αυτήν εις εμαυτόν διά γυναίκα· και τώρα, ιδού η γυνή σου· λάβε αυτήν, και ύπαγε.
20 And Pharaoh gaue men commandement concerning him: and they conueyed him forth, and his wife, and all that he had.
Και διώρισεν ο Φαραώ ανθρώπους εις αυτόν· και συμπροέπεμψαν αυτόν, και την γυναίκα αυτού και πάντα όσα είχε.
