< Genesis 10 >
1 Now these are the generations of the sonnes of Noah, Shem, Ham and Iapheth: vnto whom sonnes were borne after the flood.
Hæ sunt generationes filiorum Noë, Sem, Cham et Japheth: natique sunt eis filii post diluvium.
2 The sonnes of Iapheth were Gomer and Magog, and Madai, and Iauan, and Tubal, and Meshech, and Tiras.
Filii Japheth: Gomer, et Magog, et Madai, et Javan, et Thubal, et Mosoch, et Thiras.
3 And the sonnes of Gomer, Ashkenaz, and Riphath, and Togarmah.
Porro filii Gomer: Ascenez et Riphath et Thogorma.
4 Also the sonnes of Iauan, Elishah and Tarshish, Kittim, and Dodanim.
Filii autem Javan: Elisa et Tharsis, Cetthim et Dodanim.
5 Of these were the yles of the Gentiles deuided in their landes, euery man after his tongue, and after their families in their nations.
Ab his divisæ sunt insulæ gentium in regionibus suis, unusquisque secundum linguam suam et familias suas in nationibus suis.
6 Moreouer, ye sonnes of Ham were Cush, and Mizraim, and Put, and Canaan.
Filii autem Cham: Chus, et Mesraim, et Phuth, et Chanaan.
7 And the sonnes of Cush, Seba and Hauilah, and Sabtah, and Raamah, and Sabtecha: also the sonnes of Raamah were Sheba and Dedan.
Filii Chus: Saba, et Hevila, et Sabatha, et Regma, et Sabatacha. Filii Regma: Saba et Dadan.
8 And Cush begate Nimrod, who began to be mightie in the earth.
Porro Chus genuit Nemrod: ipse cœpit esse potens in terra,
9 He was a mightie hunter before the Lord. wherefore it is saide, As Nimrod the mightie hunter before the Lord.
et erat robustus venator coram Domino. Ob hoc exivit proverbium: Quasi Nemrod robustus venator coram Domino.
10 And the beginning of his kingdome was Babel, and Erech, and Accad, and Calneh, in the land of Shinar.
Fuit autem principium regni ejus Babylon, et Arach et Achad, et Chalanne, in terra Sennaar.
11 Out of that land came Asshur, and builded Niniueh, and the citie Rehoboth, and Calah:
De terra illa egressus est Assur, et ædificavit Niniven, et plateas civitatis, et Chale.
12 Resen also betweene Niniueh and Calah: this is a great citie.
Resen quoque inter Niniven et Chale: hæc est civitas magna.
13 And Mizraim begate Ludim, and Anamim, and Lehabim, and Naphtuhim.
At vero Mesraim genuit Ludim, et Anamim et Laabim, Nephthuim,
14 Pathrusim also, and Casluhim (out of whom came the Philistims) and Caphtorims.
et Phetrusim, et Chasluim: de quibus egressi sunt Philisthiim et Caphtorim.
15 Also Canaan begat Zidon his first borne, and Heth,
Chanaan autem genuit Sidonem primogenitum suum. Hethæum,
16 And Iebusi, and Emori, and Girgashi,
et Jebusæum, et Amorrhæum, Gergesæum,
17 And Hiui, and Arki, and Sini,
Hevæum, et Aracæum: Sinæum,
18 And Aruadi, and Zemari, and Hamathi: and afterwarde were the families of the Canaanites spred abroade.
et Aradium, Samaræum, et Amathæum: et post hæc disseminati sunt populi Chananæorum.
19 Then the border of the Canaanites was from Zidon, as thou commest to Gerar vntil Azzah, and as thou goest vnto Sodom, and Gomorah, and Admah, and Zeboijm, euen vnto Lasha.
Factique sunt termini Chanaan venientibus a Sidone Geraram usque Gazam, donec ingrediaris Sodomam et Gomorrham, et Adamam, et Seboim usque Lesa.
20 These are the sonnes of Ham according to their families, according to their tongues in their countries and in their nations.
Hi sunt filii Cham in cognationibus, et linguis, et generationibus, terrisque et gentibus suis.
21 Vnto Shem also the father of all the sonnes of Eber, and elder brother of Iapheth were children borne.
De Sem quoque nati sunt, patre omnium filiorum Heber, fratre Japheth majore.
22 The sonnes of Shem were Elam and Asshur, and Arpachshad, and Lud, and Aram.
Filii Sem: Ælam, et Assur, et Arphaxad, et Lud, et Aram.
23 And the sonnes of Aram, Vz and Hul, and Gether and Mash.
Filii Aram: Us, et Hul, et Gether, et Mes.
24 Also Arpachshad begate Shelah, and Shelah begate Eber.
At vero Arphaxad genuit Sale, de quo ortus est Heber.
25 Vnto Eber also were borne two sonnes: the name of the one was Peleg: for in his dayes was the earth diuided: and his brothers name was Ioktan.
Natique sunt Heber filii duo: nomen uni Phaleg, eo quod in diebus ejus divisa sit terra: et nomen fratris ejus Jectan.
26 Then Ioktan begate Almodad and Sheleph, and Hazarmaueth, and Ierah,
Qui Jectan genuit Elmodad, et Saleph, et Asarmoth, Jare,
27 And Hadoram, and Vzal, and Dicklah,
et Aduram, et Uzal, et Decla,
28 And Obal, and Abimael, and Sheba,
et Ebal, et Abimaël, Saba,
29 And Ophir, and Hauilah, and Iobab: all these were the sonnes of Ioktan.
et Ophir, et Hevila, et Jobab: omnes isti, filii Jectan.
30 And their dwelling was from Mesha, as thou goest vnto Sephar a mount of the East.
Et facta est habitatio eorum de Messa pergentibus usque Sephar montem orientalem.
31 These are the sonnes of Shem according to their families, according to their tongues, in their countreis and nations.
Isti filii Sem secundum cognationes, et linguas, et regiones in gentibus suis.
32 These are the families of the sonnes of Noah, after their generations among their people: and out of these were the nations diuided in the earth after the flood.
Hæ familiæ Noë juxta populos et nationes suas. Ab his divisæ sunt gentes in terra post diluvium.
