Deuteronomy 2
1 Then we turned, and tooke our iourney into the wildernes, by the way of the red Sea, as the Lord spake vnto me: and we compassed mount Seir a long time.
Kenaka tinabwerera ndi kuyamba ulendo wolowera ku chipululu motsatira njira ya ku Nyanja Yofiira, monga mmene Yehova anatilamulira. Kwa nthawi yayitali tinayendayenda cha ku dziko la mapiri la Seiri.
2 And the Lord spake vnto me, saying,
Ndipo Yehova anati kwa ine,
3 Ye haue compassed this mountaine long ynough: turne you Northward.
“Mwazungulira mokwanira dziko la mapiri, tsopano tembenukirani kumpoto.
4 And warne thou the people, saying, Ye shall go through the coast of your brethren the children of Esau, which dwell in Seir, and they shall be afraide of you: take ye good heede therefore.
Apatse anthu malamulo awa: ‘Muli pafupi kudutsa mʼchigawo cha abale anu adzukulu a Esau okhala ku Seiri. Iwowa adzachita nanu mantha koma musamale kwambiri.
5 Ye shall not prouoke them: for I wil not giue you of their land so much as a foot breadth, because I haue giuen mount Seir vnto Esau for a possession.
Musayambane nawo popeza sindidzakupatsani gawo lina lililonse la dziko lawo ngakhale poti mungoyika phazi. Ndamupatsa Esau dziko lamapiri la Seiri kuti likhale lakelake.
6 Ye shall buy meate of them for money to eate, and ye shall also procure water of them for money to drinke.
Inu muyenera kuwalipira ndi siliva pa chakudya chimene mudye ndi madzi amene mumwe.’”
7 For the Lord thy God hath blessed thee in all the workes of thine hand: he knoweth thy walking through this great wildernes, and the Lord thy God hath bene with thee this fourtie yeere, and thou hast lacked nothing.
Yehova Mulungu wanu wakudalitsani mʼntchito zonse za manja anu. Iye wakuyangʼanirani pa ulendo wanu wodutsa mʼchipululu chachikulu. Yehova Mulungu wanu wakhala nanu mʼzaka makumi anayi, ndipo simunasowe kalikonse.
8 And when we were departed from our brethren the children of Esau which dwelt in Seir, through the way of the plaine, from Elath, and from Ezion-gaber, we turned and went by the way of the wildernes of Moab.
Choncho tinapitiriza ulendo modutsa abale athu, adzukulu a Esau okhala ku Seiri. Tinapatukira njira ya ku Araba imene imachokera ku Elati ndi Ezioni Geberi ndipo tinayenda njira ya ku chipululu cha Mowabu.
9 Then the Lord sayd vnto me, Thou shalt not vexe Moab, neither prouoke them to battel: for I wil not giue thee of their land for a possession, because I haue giuen Ar vnto the children of Lot for a possession.
Ndipo Yehova anati kwa ine, “Musawavutitse Amowabu kapena kuwaputa kuti muchite nawo nkhondo popeza sindidzakupatsani gawo lina lililonse la dziko lawo. Ndinapereka Ari kwa adzukulu a Loti ngati chuma chawo.”
10 The Emims dwelt therein in times past, a people great and many, and tall, as the Anakims.
(Aemi, anthu amphamvu ndi ochuluka komanso ataliatali ngati Aanaki amakhala kumeneko.
11 They also were taken for gyants as the Anakims: whom the Moabites call Emims.
Ngati Aanaki, nawonso ankawayesa kuti anali Arefai, koma Amowabu ankawatcha iwo Aemi.
12 The Horims also dwelt in Seir before time, whome the children of Esau chased out and destroyed them before them, and dwelt in their steade: as Israel shall doe vnto the land of his possession, which the Lord hath giuen them.
Ahori amakhala ku Seiri koma adzukulu a Esau anawapirikitsa. Iwo anawononga Ahori pamaso pawo nawakhalira pamalo pawo monga Aisraeli anachitira mʼdziko limene Yehova anawapatsa ngati chuma chawo).
13 Now rise vp, sayd I, and get you ouer the riuer Zered: and we went ouer the riuer Zered.
Ndipo Yehova anati, “Tsopano nyamukani ndipo muwoloke Chigwa cha Zeredi.” Choncho tinawoloka chigwacho.
14 The space also wherein we came from Kadesh-barnea, vntill we were come ouer the riuer Zered, was eight and thirtie yeeres, vntill all the generation of the men of warre were wasted out from among the hoste, as the Lord sware vnto them.
Panapita zaka 38 kuchokera pa nthawi imene tinachoka ku Kadesi Barinea mpaka pamene tinawoloka Chigwa cha Zeredi. Pa nthawi imeneyi nʼkuti mʼbado wonse wa anthu ankhondowo utawonongeka ku msasa monga Yehova anawalumbirira.
15 For in deede the hand of the Lord was against them, to destroy them from among the hoste, till they were consumed.
Dzanja la Yehova linatsutsana nawo mpaka wonse anathera ku msasa.
16 So when all the men of warre were consumed and dead from among the people:
Tsono atafa munthu wotsiriza mwa anthu ankhondowo,
17 Then the Lord spake vnto me, saying,
Yehova anati kwa ine,
18 Thou shalt goe through Ar the coast of Moab this day:
“Lero mudutsa malire a Mowabu ku Ari podzera ku Ari.
19 And thou shalt come neere ouer against the children of Ammon: but shalt not lay siege vnto them, nor moue warre against them: for I will not giue thee of the land of the children of Ammon any possession: for I haue giuen it vnto the children of Lot for a possession.
Mukafika kwa Aamoni, musawavutitse kapena kuwaputa, popeza sindidzakupatsani gawo lililonse la dziko la Aamoni. Ine ndalipereka dzikoli ngati chuma kwa adzukulu a Loti.”
20 That also was taken for a land of gyants: for gyants dwelt therein afore time, whome the Ammonites called Zamzummims:
(Ilinso ankaliyesa dziko la Arefai amene ankakhala kumeneko. Koma Aamoni ankawatcha iwo Azamuzumi.
21 A people that was great, and many, and tall, as the Anakims: but the Lord destroyed them before them, and they succeeded them in their inheritance, and dwelt in their stead:
Iwo anali anthu amphamvu ndiponso ochuluka, ataliatali ngati Aanaki. Yehova anawawononga ndi kuwachotsa pamaso pa Aamoni, amene anawapirikitsa nawakhalira pa malo pawo.
22 As he did to the children of Esau which dwell in Seir, when he destroyed the Horims before them, and they possessed them, and dwelt in their stead vnto this day.
Yehova anachitanso chimodzimodzi ndi adzukulu a Esau omwe anakhazikika ku Seiri atawononga Ahori powachotsa pamaso pawo. Iwo anawapirikitsa Ahoriwo ndi kuwakhalira pamalo pawo mpaka lero.
23 And the Auims which dwelt in Hazarim euen vnto Azzah, the Caphtorims which came out of Caphtor destroyed them, and dwelt in their steade.
Ndipo za Aavi omwe ankakhala mʼmidzi yofika mpaka ku Gaza, anagonjetsedwa ndi Akafitori wochokera ku Akafitori nakhala pamalo pawo).
24 Rise vp therefore, sayd the Lord: take your iourney, and passe ouer the riuer Arnon: beholde, I haue giuen into thy hand Sihon, the Amorite, King of Heshbon, and his land: begin to possesse it and prouoke him to battell.
“Tsopano nyamukani, muwoloke khwawa la Arinoni. Taona ndapereka mʼmanja mwako Sihoni Mwamori mfumu ya Hesiboni ndi dziko lake lonse. Yambapo kutenga chuma chake ndi kumenyana naye nkhondo.
25 This day wil I begin to send thy feare and thy dread, vpon all people vnder the whole heauen, which shall heare thy fame, and shall tremble and quake before thee.
Lero lomwe lino ndidzayamba kuyika chiopsezo ndi mantha pa mitundu yonse pansi pa thambo kuti akuope. Iwowo adzamva zambiri yako ndipo adzanjenjemera ndi kuwawidwa mtima chifukwa cha iwe.”
26 Then I sent messengers out of the wildernes of Kedemoth vnto Sihon King of Heshbon, with wordes of peace, saying,
Ine ndinatuma amithenga kuchokera ku chipululu cha Kedemoti kupita kwa Sihoni mfumu ya Hesiboni kukanena mawu ofuna mtendere ndipo ndinati,
27 Let me passe through thy land: I will go by the hie way: I will neither turne vnto the right hand nor to the left.
“Tiloleni tidutse mʼdziko mwanu. Ife tidzangodutsa ndi msewu waukulu, ndipo sitidzapatukira kumanja kapena kumanzere.
28 Thou shalt sell me meate for money, for to eate, and shalt giue me water for money for to drinke: onely I will go through on my foote,
Mutigulitse chakudya kuti tidye ndi madzi kuti timwe pa mtengo wa siliva. Mungotilola kuti tidutse, tikuyenda pansi
29 (As the children of Esau which dwell in Seir, and the Moabites which dwell in Ar, did vnto me) vntill I be come ouer Iorden, into the land which the Lord our God giueth vs.
monga mmene anatichitira adzukulu a Esau okhala ku Seiri ndi Amowabu okhala ku Ari mpaka titawoloka Yorodani kufika ku dziko limene Yehova Mulungu wathu akutipatsa.”
30 But Sihon the King of Heshbon would not let vs passe by him: for the Lord thy God had hardened his spirit, and made his heart obstinate, because hee would deliuer him into thine hand, as appeareth this day.
Koma Sihoni mfumu ya Hesiboni sanalole kuti tidutse. Popeza Yehova Mulungu wanu analimbitsa mzimu wake, nawumitsa mtima wake kuti amupereke mʼmanja mwanu monga wachitira lero lino.
31 And the Lord sayd vnto me, Beholde, I haue begun to giue Sihon and his land before thee: begin to possesse and inherite his land.
Yehova anati kwa ine, “Taona ndayamba kumupereka Sihoni ndi dziko lake kwa iwe. Tsopano yamba kugonjetsa ndi kulanda dziko lake.”
32 Then came out Sihon to meete vs, him selfe with all his people to fight at Iahaz.
Sihoni ndi ankhondo ake atabwera kudzakumana nafe mwankhondo pa Yahazi,
33 But the Lord our God deliuered him into our power, and we smote him, and his sonnes, and all his people.
Yehova Mulungu anamupereka iye kwa ife ndipo tinankantha, pamodzi ndi ana ake aamuna ndi gulu lake lonse lankhondo.
34 And we tooke all his cities the same time, and destroyed euery citie, men, and women, and children: we let nothing remaine.
Pa nthawi imeneyi tinamulanda mizinda yake yonse ndi kuyiwononga kwathunthu, amuna, akazi ndi ana. Palibe amene anapulumuka.
35 Onely the cattell we tooke to our selues, and the spoyle of the cities which we tooke,
Koma ziweto ndi zinthu zonse zimene tinalanda mʼmizinda imene tinagonjetsayo, tinazitenga kukhala zathu.
36 From Aroer, which is by the banke of the riuer of Arnon, and from the citie that is vpon the riuer, euen vnto Gilead: there was not one citie that escaped vs: for the Lord our God deliuered vp all before vs.
Kuchokera ku Aroeri mʼmphepete mwa mtsinje wa Arinoni ndi ku mzinda wa ku mtsinjeko mpaka kukafika ku Giliyadi, panalibe ndi mzinda ndi umodzi omwe umene unatikanika kuwugonjetsa. Yehova Mulungu wathu anatipatsa onsewo.
37 Onely vnto the land of the children of Ammon thou camest not, nor vnto any place of the riuer Iabbok, nor vnto the cities in the mountaines, nor vnto whatsoeuer the Lord our God forbade vs.
Molingana ndi lamulo la Yehova Mulungu wathu, simunalowerere dziko lililonse la Aamoni, ngakhale dera lonse la ku mtsinje wa Yaboki kapena dera lozungulira dera la ku mizinda ya ku mapiri.
