2 Samuel 4
1 And when Sauls sonne heard that Abner was dead in Hebron, then his handes were feeble, and all Israel was afraide,
Luego que oyó el hijo de Saúl que Abner había sido muerto en Hebrón, las manos se le descoyuntaron, y fue atemorizado todo Israel.
2 And Sauls sonne had two men that were captaines of bandes: the one called Baanah, and the other called Rechab, the sonnes of Rimmon a Beerothite of the children of Beniamin. (for Beeroth was reckened to Beniamin,
Y tenía el hijo de Saúl dos varones, los cuales eran capitanes de compañía, el nombre de uno era Baana, y el del otro Recab, hijos de Rimón beerotita, de los hijos de Benjamín (porque Beerot era contada con Benjamín;
3 Because the Beerothites fled to Gittaim, and soiourned there, vnto this day).
estos beerotitas se habían huido a Gitaim, y habían sido peregrinos allí hasta entonces.)
4 And Ionathan Sauls sonne had a sonne that was lame on his feete: he was fiue yere olde when the tydings came of Saul and Ionathan out of Israel: then his nourse tooke him, and fledde away. And as she made haste to flee, the childe fell, and beganne to halte, and his name was Mephibosheth.
Y Jonatán, hijo de Saúl, tenía un hijo lisiado de los pies de edad de cinco años, que cuando la noticia de la muerte de Saúl y de Jonatán vino de Jezreel, le tomó su ama y huyó; y como iba huyendo de prisa, cayó el niño y quedó cojo. Su nombre era Mefi-boset.
5 And the sonnes of Rimmon the Beerothite, Rechab and Baanah went and came in the heat of the day to the house of Ish-bosheth (who slept on a bed at noone)
Los hijos, pues, de Rimón beerotita, Recab y Baana, fueron y entraron en el mayor calor del día en casa de Is-boset, el cual estaba durmiendo en su cámara la siesta.
6 And beholde, Rechab and Baanah his brother came into the middes of the house as they would haue wheate, and they smote him vnder the fift ryb, and fled.
Entonces entraron ellos en medio de la casa en hábito de mercaderes de grano, y le hirieron en la quinta costilla, y se escaparon Recab y Baana su hermano.
7 For when they came into the house, he slept on his bed in his bed chamber, and they smote him, and slewe him, and beheaded him, and tooke his head, and gate them away through the plaine all the night.
Los cuales como entraron en la casa, estando él en su cama en su cámara de dormir, lo hirieron y mataron, y le cortaron la cabeza. Y tomando la cabeza caminaron toda la noche por el camino de la campiña.
8 And they brought the head of Ish-bosheth vnto Dauid to Hebron, and saide to the King, Beholde the head of Ish-bosheth Sauls sonne thine enemie, who sought after thy life: and the Lord hath auenged my lorde the King this day of Saul, and of his seede.
Y trajeron la cabeza de Is-boset a David en Hebrón, y dijeron al rey: He aquí la cabeza de Is-boset hijo de Saúl tu enemigo, que procuraba matarte; y el SEÑOR ha vengado hoy a mi señor el rey, de Saúl y de su simiente.
9 Then Dauid answered Rechab and Baanah his brother, the sonnes of Rimmon the Beerothite, and saide vnto them, As the Lord liueth, who hath deliuered my soule out of al aduersity,
Y David respondió a Recab y a su hermano Baana, hijos de Rimón Beerotita, y les dijo: Vive el SEÑOR que ha redimido mi alma de toda angustia,
10 When one tolde me, and sayde that Saul was dead, (thinking to haue brought good tydings) I tooke him and slewe him in Ziklag, who thought that I woulde haue giuen him a rewarde for his tidings:
que cuando uno me dio nuevas, diciendo: He aquí Saúl es muerto imaginándose que traía buenas nuevas, yo lo prendí, y le maté en Siclag en pago de la nueva.
11 How much more, when wicked men haue slaine a righteous person in his owne house, and vpon his bed? shall I not now therfore require his blood at your hand, and take you from the earth?
¿Cuánto más a los malos hombres que mataron a un hombre justo en su casa, y sobre su cama? Ahora pues, ¿no tengo yo de demandar su sangre de vuestras manos, y quitaros de la tierra?
12 Then Dauid commanded his yong men, and they slew them, and cut off their hands and their feete, and hanged them vp ouer the poole in Hebron: but they tooke the head of Ishbosheth, and buried it in the sepulchre of Abner in Hebron.
Entonces David mandó a los jóvenes, y ellos los mataron, y les cortaron las manos y los pies, y los colgaron sobre el estanque, en Hebrón. Luego tomaron la cabeza de Is-boset, y la enterraron en el sepulcro de Abner en Hebrón.
