2 Kings 20
1 About that time was Hezekiah sicke vnto death: and the Prophet Isaiah the sonne of Amoz came to him, and said vnto him, Thus saith the Lord, Put thine house in an order: for thou shalt die, and not liue.
Trong lúc đó, Ê-xê-chia bị bịnh nặng gần chết. Tiên tri Ê-sai, con trai A-mốt, đến cùng người, và nói rằng: Ðức Giê-hô-va phán như vầy: Hãy trối lại cho nhà ngươi, vì ngươi sẽ thác chẳng sống được đâu.
2 Then he turned his face to the wall, and prayed to the Lord, saying,
Ê-xê-chia bèn xây mặt mình vào phía vách, và cầu nguyện Ðức Giê-hô-va mà rằng:
3 I beseech thee, O Lord, remember nowe, howe I haue walked before thee in trueth and with a perfite heart, and haue done that which is good in thy sight: and Hezekiah wept sore.
Ôi Ðức Giê-hô-va! xin hãy nhớ lại rằng tôi đã lấy sự thành thật và lòng trọn lành, đi trước mặt Chúa, và làm theo điều tốt lành tại trước mặt Ngài. Ðoạn, Ê-xê-chia khóc rất thảm thiết.
4 And afore Isaiah was gone out into the middle of the court, the worde of the Lord came to him, saying,
Ê-sai chưa đi khỏi thành trong, có lời của Ðức Giê-hô-va phán với người rằng:
5 Turne againe, and tell Hezekiah the captaine of my people, Thus saith the Lord God of Dauid thy father, I haue heard thy prayer, and seene thy teares: behold, I haue healed thee, and ye third day thou shalt go vp to ye house of ye Lord,
Hãy trở lại, nói với Ê-xê-chia, vua của dân sự ta rằng: Giê-hô-va Ðức Chúa Trời của Ða-vít, tổ phụ ngươi, phán như vầy: Ta có nghe lời cầu nguyện ngươi, thấy nước mắt của ngươi, này ta sẽ chữa lành cho ngươi; đến ngày thứ ba ngươi sẽ đi lên đền của Ðức Giê-hô-va.
6 And I wil adde vnto thy dayes fiftene yere, and wil deliuer thee and this citie out of the hand of the King of Asshur, and will defende this citie for mine owne sake, and for Dauid my seruats sake.
Ta sẽ thêm tuổi ngươi mười lăm năm, ta sẽ giải cứu ngươi và thành này khỏi tay vua A-si-ri. Vì cớ ta và Ða-vít, kẻ tôi tớ ta, ta sẽ binh vực thành này.
7 Then Isaiah sayde, Take a lumpe of dry figges. And they tooke it, and layed it on the boyle, and he recouered.
Ê-sai bèn biểu: Hãy lấy một cái bánh trái vả. Người ta lấy nó đắp trên mụt ung, thì vua được lành.
8 For Hezekiah had saide vnto Isaiah, What shalbe the signe that the Lord will heale me, and that I shall goe vp into the house of the Lord the thirde day?
Vả, Ê-xê-chia đã hỏi Ê-sai rằng: Bởi dấu nào tôi phải nhìn rằng Ðức Giê-hô-va sẽ chữa lành cho tôi và đến ngày thứ ba tôi sẽ được đi lên đền của Ngài?
9 And Isaiah answered, This signe shalt thou haue of the Lord, that the Lord will doe that he hath spoken, Wilt thou that the shadowe goe forwarde ten degrees, or go backe ten degrees?
Ê-sai đáp: Này là dấu Ðức Giê-hô-va ban cho ngươi, đặng làm chứng cho ngươi biết Ngài sẽ làm thành điều Ngài đã phán ra: Ngươi muốn bóng tới trước mười độ hay là lui lại mười độ chăng?
10 And Hezekiah answered, It is a light thing for the shadowe to passe forward ten degrees: not so then, but let ye shadow go backe ten degrees.
Ê-xê-chia đáp: Bóng tới trước mười độ thì chẳng khó gì; không! thà nó lui lại sau mười độ thì hơn.
11 And Isaiah the Prophet called vnto the Lord, and he brought againe the shadowe ten degrees backe by the degrees whereby it had gone downe in the diall of Ahaz.
Thầy tiên tri Ê-sai cầu khẩn Ðức Giê-hô-va, Ngài bèn đem bóng đã giọi trên trắc ảnh A-cha lui lại mười độ, là mười độ đã xuống rồi.
12 The same season Berodach Baladan the sonne of Baladan King of Babel, sent letters and a present to Hezekiah: for he had heard howe that Hezekiah was sicke.
Trong lúc đó, Bê-rô-đác-Ba-la-đan, con trai Ba-la-đan, vua Ba-by-lôn, gởi thơ và lễ vật cho Ê-xê-chia; vì người đã hay rằng Ê-xê-chia đau.
13 And Hezekiah heard them, and shewed them all his treasure house, to wit, the siluer, and the golde, and the spices, and the precious oyntment, and all the house of his armour, and al that was founde in his treasures: there was nothing in his house, and in all his realme, that Hezekiah shewed them not.
Ê-xê-chia nghe lời các sứ giả tâu, thì vui mừng, bèn dẫn chúng viếng đền, là nơi chứa các vật quí, bạc, vàng, thuốc thơm, dầu quí, lại cho xem trại cơ khí, và mọi vật trong kho tàng mình. Chẳng có chi trong đền hoặc trong nước mà Ê-xê-chia không cho chúng xem thấy.
14 Then Isaiah the Prophet came vnto King Hezekiah, and saide vnto him, What saide these men? and from whence came they to thee? And Hezekiah said, They be come from a farre countrey, euen from Babel.
Tiên tri Ê-xai bèn đi đến vua Ê-xê-chia, và hỏi người rằng: Các người đó nói chi và ở xứ nào đến? Ê-xê-chia đáp: Chúng đến từ xứ xa, từ Ba-by-lôn.
15 Then saide he, What haue they seene in thine house? And Hezekiah answered, All that is in mine house haue they seene: there is nothing among my treasures, that I haue not shewed the.
Ê-sai tiếp: Vua cho chúng xem chi trong đền của vua? Ê-xê-chia đáp: Chúng có thấy mọi vật ở trong đền ta. Chẳng gì trong các kho tàng ta mà ta chẳng chỉ cho chúng xem.
16 And Isaiah said vnto Hezekiah, Heare the worde of the Lord.
Ê-sai bèn nói với Ê-xê-chia rằng: Hãy nghe lời của Ðức Giê-hô-va:
17 Beholde, the dayes come, that all that is in thine house, and what so euer thy fathers haue layed vp in store vnto this day, shall be caryed into Babel: Nothing shall be left, saith the Lord.
Thì giờ sẽ đến khi mọi vật ở trong đền vua, mọi vật mà các tổ phụ vua đã chất chứa trong kho tàng cho đến ngày nay, đều sẽ bị đem qua Ba-by-lôn. Ðức Giê-hô-va phán: Sẽ chẳng còn chi lại hết.
18 And of thy sonnes, that shall proceede out of thee, and which thou shalt beget, shall they take away, and they shalbe eunuches in the palace of the King of Babel.
Lại những đứa con trai của vua, do nơi vua sanh ra, sẽ bị bắt dẫn đi làm hoạn quan trong đền vua Ba-by-lôn.
19 Then Hezekiah said vnto Isaiah, The word of the Lord which thou hast spoken, is good: for saide he, Shall it not be good, if peace and trueth be in my dayes?
Ê-xê-chia đáp với Ê-sai rằng: Lời của Ðức Giê-hô-va mà người đã nói là thiện. Người tiếp: Ít nữa trong đời tôi sẽ có điều bình yên và sự vững vàng chăng?
20 Concerning the rest of the actes of Hezekiah, and all his valiant deedes, and howe he made a poole and a cundite, and brought water into the citie, are they not written in the booke of the Chronicles of the Kings of Iudah?
Các chuyện khác của Ê-xê-chia, sự mạnh dạn người, cuộc xây hồ chứa nước, và kinh dẫn nước vào trong thành, đều chép trong sử ký về các vua Giu-đa.
21 And Hezekiah slept with his fathers: and Manasseh his sonne reigned in his steade.
Ê-xê-chia an giấc cùng các tổ phụ mình; Ma-na-se con trai người, kế vị người.
