< 1 Kings 22 >
1 And they continued three yeere without warre betweene Aram and Israel.
Agha ọzọ adaghị nʼetiti Aram na Izrel afọ atọ.
2 And in the third yeere did Iehoshaphat the King of Iudah come downe to ye King of Israel.
Ma nʼafọ nke atọ, Jehoshafat, eze Juda, gara ileta Ehab eze Izrel.
3 (Then the King of Israel saide vnto his seruants, Knowe yee not that Ramoth Gilead was ours? and wee stay, and take it not out of ye hand of the King of Aram?)
Eze Izrel sịrị ndị ozi ya, “Unu amaghị na ala Ramọt Gilead bụ nke anyị, ma lee na anyị gbara nkịtị ịga napụta ya site nʼaka eze Aram?”
4 And he sayde vnto Iehoshaphat, Wilt thou goe with mee to battel against Ramoth Gilead? And Iehoshaphat saide vnto the King of Israel, I am as thou art, my people as thy people, and mine horses as thine horses.
5 Then Iehoshaphat saide vnto the King of Israel, Aske counsaile, I pray thee, of the Lord to day.
Ma Jehoshafat gwakwara eze Izrel, sị, “Buru ụzọ chọpụta ihe bụ ntụziaka Onyenwe anyị.”
6 Then the King of Israel gathered the prophets vpon a foure hundreth men, and said vnto them, Shal I go against Ramoth Gilead to battel, or shall I let it alone? And they said, Go vp: for ye Lord shall deliuer it into the hands of the King.
Ya mere, eze Izrel kpọkọtara ndị amụma, ọnụọgụgụ ha ruru narị ndị ikom anọ, jụọ ha sị, “Ọ bụ m gaa buso Ramọt Gilead agha, ka ọ bụ m hapụ ịga?” Ha zara, “Gaa, nʼihi na Onyenwe anyị ga-enyefe ha nʼaka eze.”
7 And Iehoshaphat said, Is there here neuer a Prophet of the Lord more, that we might inquire of him?
Ma Jehoshafat jụrụ, “Ọ bụ na e nwekwaghị onye amụma Onyenwe anyị nọ nʼebe a, onye anyị nwere ike ịjụta ase nʼaka ya?”
8 And the King of Israel said vnto Iehoshaphat, There is yet one man (Michaiah the sonne of Imlah) by whom we may aske counsel of the Lord, but I hate him: for he doeth not prophecie good vnto me, but euill. And Iehoshaphat sayd, Let not the King say so.
Eze Izrel zaghachiri Jehoshafat, sị, “A ka nwere otu onye amụma, onye anyị nwere ike isite nʼaka ya jụọ Onyenwe anyị ase, ọ bụ Maikaya nwa Imla, ma akpọrọ m ya asị, nʼihi na o nweghị oge ọ na-ebu amụma ihe ọma nʼebe m nọ, kama ọ bụ naanị nke ọjọọ.” Jehoshafat sịrị, “Eze ekwesighị ikwu okwu dị otu a.”
9 Then the King of Israel called an Eunuche, and sayde, Call quickely Michaiah the sonne of Imlah.
Mgbe ahụ, eze Izrel kpọrọ otu onye na-ejere ya ozi sị ya, “Mee ọsịịsọ kpọta Maikaya nwa Imla nʼebe a.”
10 And the King of Israel and Iehoshaphat the King of Iudah sate either of them on his throne in their apparell in the voyde place at the entring in of the gate of Samaria, and all the prophets prophecied before them.
Ehab eze Izrel na Jehoshafat eze Juda, onye ọbụla yi uwe eze ya, na-anọkwasị nʼocheeze ya nʼebe ịzọcha ọka nʼọnụ ụzọ ama e si abata obodo Sameria. Ndị amụma ahụ niile nọkwa na-ebu amụma nʼihu ha.
11 And Zidkiiah the sonne of Chenaanah made him hornes of yron, and sayd, Thus sayth the Lord, With these shalt thou push the Aramites, vntill thou hast consumed them.
Zedekaya nwa Kenaana, mere mpi igwe, ọ kwupụtara sị, “Nke a bụ ihe Onyenwe anyị na-ekwu, ‘Ihe ndị a ka ị ga-eji sọgide ndị Aram, ruo mgbe a ga-ala ha nʼiyi.’”
12 And all the prophets prophecied so, saying, Goe vp to Ramoth Gilead, and prosper: for the Lord shall deliuer it into the Kings hand.
Ndị amụma ndị ọzọ niile na-ebu otu ihe ahụ nʼamụma, na-asị, “Gaa, busoo Ramọt Gilead agha, ị ga-enwekwa mmeri, nʼihi na Onyenwe anyị ga-enyefe ya nʼaka eze.”
13 And the messenger that was gone to call Michaiah spake vnto him, saying, Beholde now, the wordes of the prophets declare good vnto the King with one accorde: let thy word therefore, I pray thee, be like the worde of one of them, and speake thou good.
Onyeozi ahụ nke gara ịkpọ Maikaya sịrị ya, “Lee, ndị amụma ndị ọzọ na-agụpụghị onye ọbụla na-ebu amụma ọganihu nye eze. Mee ka okwu gị na ha dakọta. Kwuokwa ihe ga-adị eze mma.”
14 And Michaiah saide, As the Lord liueth, whatsoeuer the Lord sayth vnto me, that will I speake.
Ma Maikaya sịrị, “Dịka Onyenwe anyị na-adị ndụ, aga m agwa ya naanị ihe Onyenwe anyị gwara m.”
15 So he came to the King, and the King said vnto him, Michaiah, shall we go against Ramoth Gilead to battel, or shall we leaue off? And he answered him, Goe vp, and prosper: and the Lord shall deliuer it into the hand of the King.
Mgbe ọ bịarutere, eze jụrụ ya, “Maikaya, ọ bụ anyị gaa buso Ramọt Gilead agha, ka ọ bụ anyị hapụ?” Ọ zara, “Gaa, ma nwekwa mmeri, nʼihi na Onyenwe anyị ga-enyefe ya nʼaka eze.”
16 And the King said vnto him, How oft shall I charge thee, that thou tell me nothing but that which is true in the Name of the Lord?
Eze sịrị ya, “Ugboro ole ka m ga-eme ka ị ṅụọ iyi na ị gaghị agwa m ihe ọzọ, karịa naanị eziokwu nʼaha Onyenwe anyị?”
17 Then he said, I sawe all Israel scattered vpon the mountaines, as sheepe that had no shepheard. And the Lord sayde, These haue no master, let euery man returne vnto his house in peace.
Mgbe ahụ Mikaya zara, “Ahụrụ m Izrel niile ka ha gbasasịrị nʼelu ọtụtụ ugwu dịka atụrụ na-enweghị onye ọzụzụ atụrụ, ma Onyenwe anyị sịrị, ‘Ndị a enweghị onyendu. Ka onye ọbụla laghachi nʼụlọ ya nʼudo.’”
18 (And the King of Israel saide vnto Iehoshaphat, Did I not tell thee, that he would prophecie no good vnto me, but euill?)
Eze Izrel, sịrị Jehoshafat, “Ọ bụ na m agwaghị gị na ọ dịghị mgbe ọ na-ebu amụma ihe ọma banyere m, kama naanị ihe ọjọọ?”
19 Againe he said, Heare thou therefore the worde of the Lord. I sawe the Lord sit on his throne, and all the hoste of heauen stood about him on his right hand and on his left hand.
20 And the Lord sayd, Who shall entise Ahab that he may go and fall at Ramoth Gilead? And one said on this maner, and another sayd on that maner.
Onyenwe anyị sịrị, ‘Onye ga-aga rafuo Ehab ka ọ gaa buso Ramọt Gilead agha, gaa nwụọ nʼebe ahụ?’ “Otu onye tụpụtara aro nke a, ebe onye ọzọ tụpụtara nke ọzọ.
21 Then there came forth a spirit, and stoode before the Lord, and sayd, I wil entise him. And the Lord sayd vnto him, Wherewith?
Nʼikpeazụ otu mmụọ pụtara, guzo nʼihu Onyenwe anyị sị, ‘Mụ onwe m ga-arafu ya.’
22 And he sayd, I will goe out, and be a false spirit in the mouth of all his prophets. Then he sayd, Thou shalt entise him, and shalt also preuayle: goe forth, and doe so.
“‘Onyenwe anyị jụrụ sị, Olee otu ị ga-esi mee nke a?’ “‘Aga m apụ gaa bụrụ mmụọ nrafu nʼọnụ ndị amụma ya niile,’ ka ọ zara. “Onyenwe anyị sịrị, ‘Ị ga-enwe ike ịrafu ya. Gaa mee otu a.’
23 Now therefore behold, the Lord hath put a lying spirite in the mouth of all these thy prophets, and the Lord hath appoynted euill against thee.
“Ma ugbu a, Onyenwe anyị etinyela mmụọ okwu ụgha nʼọnụ ndị amụma gị niile ndị a. Onyenwe anyị ekwubiela nʼihe ọjọọ ga-adakwasị gị.”
24 Then Zidkiiah the sonne of Chenaanah came neere, and smote Michaiah on the cheeke and sayd, When went the Spirite of the Lord from me, to speake vnto thee?
Mgbe ahụ, Zedekaya nwa Kenaana, gara nso, maa Maikaya aka na nti, jụọ ya, “Olee ụzọ ka mmụọ ahụ sitere na Onyenwe anyị gara, mgbe ọ hapụrụ m bịa ịgwa gị okwu?”
25 And Michaiah saide, Behold, thou shalt see in that day, when thou shalt goe from chamber to chamber to hide thee.
Maikaya zaghachiri, “Ị ga-achọpụta nke a nʼụbọchị ị ga-agbaba nʼime ime ụlọ izo onwe gị.”
26 And the King of Israel sayd, Take Michaiah, and cary him vnto Amon the gouernour of the citie, and vnto Ioash the Kings sonne,
Mgbe ahụ, eze Izrel nyere iwu sị, “Jidenụ Maikaya kpụgara ya Amọn onye na-achị obodo a, na Joash nwa eze
27 And say, Thus saith the King, Put this man in the prison house, and feede him with bread of affliction, and with water of affliction, vntill I returne in peace.
ị ga-asịkwa, ‘Otu a ka eze sịrị: Tinye nwoke a nʼụlọ mkpọrọ, nye ya naanị achịcha na mmiri ọṅụṅụ tutu ruo mgbe m lọghachiri nʼudo.’”
28 And Michaiah sayde, If thou returne in peace, the Lord hath not spoken by me. And he sayd, Hearken all ye people.
Maikaya kwupụtara sị, “Ọ bụrụ na ị lọghachi nʼudo, ọ pụtara na ọ bụghị Onyenwe anyị si nʼọnụ m kwuo okwu.” O kwukwara sị, “Unu niile hụbakwanụ okwu m ndị a niile ama!”
29 So the King of Israel and Iehoshaphat the King of Iudah went vp to Ramoth Gilead.
30 And the King of Israel sayde to Iehoshaphat, I will change mine apparell, and will enter into the battell, but put thou on thine apparell. And the King of Israel changed himselfe, and went into the battel.
Eze Izrel gwara Jehoshafat, sị, “Aga m ejikere onwe m dịka m bụ onye ọzọ banye nʼọgbọ agha, ma gị onwe gị yiri uwe eze gị.” Ya mere, eze Izrel nwogharịrị onwe ya ka onye ọzọ baa nʼọgbọ agha.
31 And the King of Aram commanded his two and thirtie captaines ouer his charets, saying, Fight neither with small, nor great, saue onely against the King of Israel.
Ma eze Aram enyelarị ndị ọchịagha ndị na-agba ụgbọ agha, ọnụọgụgụ ha dị iri atọ na abụọ, iwu sị, “Unu ebusola onye ọbụla agha, maọbụ onye ukwu maọbụ onye nta, karịakwa naanị eze Izrel.”
32 And when the captaines of the charets saw Iehoshaphat, they sayd, Surely it is the King of Israel, and they turned to fight against him: and Iehoshaphat cryed.
33 And when the captaines of the charets saw that he was not the King of Israel, they turned backe from him.
ndị ọchịagha, na-achị ndị na-agba ụgbọ agha hụrụ na ọ bụghị eze Izrel, ma kwụsị ịchụso ya.
34 Then a certaine man drewe a bow mightily and smote the King of Israel betweene the ioyntes of his brigandine. Wherefore he sayde vnto his charet man, Turne thine hand and cary me out of the hoste: for I am hurt.
Ma otu onye dọrọ ụta ya gbapụ ya na-ebughị onye ọbụla nʼobi, gbata ya eze Izrel nʼetiti njikọ nke uwe agha ya. Eze gwara onye ọkwọ ụgbọ agha ya, sị, “Tụgharịa, si nʼebe a bupụ m, nʼihi na emerụọla m ahụ.”
35 And the battel encreased that day, and the King stoode still in his charet against the Aramites, and dyed at euen: and the blood ran out of the wound into the middes of the charet.
Agha ahụ siri ike nʼụbọchị ahụ niile, e ji ihe mee ka eze kwụrụ ọtọ nʼime ụgbọ agha ya na-eche ndị Aram ihu. Ọbara si nʼọnya ahụ sọjuru nʼala ụgbọ agha ahụ, ọ nwụrụ nʼuhuruchi ụbọchị ahụ.
36 And there went a proclamation thorowout the hoste about the going downe of the sunne, saying, Euery man to his citie, and euery man to his owne countrey.
Mgbe anyanwụ na-ada, e tiri mkpu nke gazuru nʼọgbọ agha ndị Izrel, sị, “Nwoke ọbụla laa nʼobodo ya, onye ọbụla laakwa nʼala nke aka ya!”
37 So the King died, and was brought to Samaria, and they buried the King in Samaria.
Ya mere, eze nwụrụ, e buta ozu ya nʼobodo Sameria, ebe a nọ lie ya.
38 And one washed the charet in the poole of Samaria, and the dogs licked vp his blood (and they washed his armour) according vnto the word of the Lord which he spake.
Ha sachara ụgbọ agha ya nʼọdọ mmiri dị na Sameria (ebe ndị akwụna na-asa ahụ). Ụmụ nkịta rachara ọbara ya, dịka okwu Onyenwe anyị kwubiri.
39 Concerning the rest of the actes of Ahab and all that he did, and the yuorie house which he built, and all the cities that he built, are they not written in the booke of the Chronicles of the Kings of Israel?
40 So Ahab slept with his fathers, and Ahaziah his sonne reigned in his stead.
41 And Iehoshaphat the sonne of Asa began to reigne vpon Iudah in the fourth yeere of Ahab King of Israel.
Jehoshafat nwa Asa ghọrọ eze Juda, nʼafọ nke anọ, nke ọchịchị Ehab eze Izrel.
42 Iehoshaphat was fiue and thirty yere olde, when he began to reigne, and reigned fiue and twentie yeere in Ierusalem. And his mothers name was Azubah the daughter of Shilhi.
Jehoshafat gbara iri afọ atọ na ise mgbe ọ malitere ịbụ eze. Ọ chịrị iri afọ abụọ na ise na Jerusalem. Aha nne ya bụ Azuba, nwa Shilhi.
43 And he walked in all the wayes of Asa his father, and declined not therefrom, but did that which was right in the eyes of the Lord. Neuerthelesse the hie places were not taken away: for the people offred still and burnt incense in the hie places.
44 And Iehoshaphat made peace with the King of Israel.

45 Concerning the rest of the actes of Iehoshaphat, and his worthy deedes that he did, and his battels which he fought, are they not written in the booke of the Chronicles of the Kings of Iudah?
Ma banyere ihe ndị ọzọ niile mere nʼoge ọchịchị Jehoshafat, ihe niile ndị ọ rụpụtara, ike ọ kpara nʼọtụtụ agha nke o buru, ọ bụ na e deghị ha nʼakwụkwọ akụkọ ihe mere nʼoge ndị eze Juda?
46 And the Sodomites, which remayned in the dayes of his father Asa, he put cleane out of the land.
O kpochapụrụ ndị ikom akwụna ụlọ arụsị, bụ ndị nke fọdụrụ, mgbe nna ya bụ Asa chịchara ọchịchị.
47 There was then no King in Edom: the deputie was King.
Nʼoge a, eze adịghị nʼala Edọm, kama ọ bụ onye nnọchite anya eze bụ onye na-achị.
48 Iehoshaphat made shippes of Tharshish to sayle to Ophir for golde, but they went not, for the shippes were broken at Ezion Gaber.
Jehoshafat wuuru ọtụtụ ụgbọ mmiri eji azụ ahịa, maka ije nʼala Ọfịa ịga bute ọlaedo ma ụgbọ mmiri ndị a agaghị ebe ọbụla, nʼihi na ha mikpuru nʼEziọn Geba.
49 Then sayde Ahaziah the sonne of Ahab vnto Iehoshaphat, Let my seruants goe with thy seruants in the ships, But Iehoshaphat would not.
Nʼoge ahụ, Ahazaya nwa Ehab sịrị Jehoshafat, “Kwere ka ndị ikom m soro ndị ọrụ gị nʼụgbọ gị,” ma Jehoshafat ekweghị.
50 And Iehoshaphat did sleepe with his fathers, and was buried with his fathers in the citie of Dauid his father, and Iehoram his sonne reigned in his stead.
51 Ahaziah the sonne of Ahab began to reigne ouer Israel in Samaria, the seuenteenth yeere of Iehoshaphat King of Iudah, and reigned two yeeres ouer Israel.
Ahazaya nwa Ehab, malitere ịbụ eze Izrel na Sameria, nʼafọ iri na asaa nke ọchịchị Jehoshafat, eze Juda. Ma ọ chịrị Izrel naanị afọ abụọ.
52 But he did euill in the sight of the Lord, and walked in the way of his father, and in the way of his mother, and in the way of Ieroboam the sonne of Nebat, which made Israel to sinne.
O mere ihe dị njọ nʼanya Onyenwe anyị, nʼihi na o sooro ụzọ ọjọọ niile nke nna na nne ya, na ụzọ ọjọọ nke Jeroboam nwa Nebat, onye mere ka Izrel mee mmehie.
53 For he serued Baal and worshipped him, and prouoked the Lord God of Israel vnto wrath, according vnto all that his father had done.
Ọ fekwara arụsị Baal ofufe, kpọọkwa isiala nye ya, si otu a kpasuo Onyenwe anyị, Chineke Izrel iwe, dịka nna ya mere.
