1 Kings 14
1 At that time Abiiah the sonne of Ieroboam fell sicke.
Ob tistem času je Jerobeámov sin Abíja zbolel.
2 And Ieroboam saide vnto his wife, Vp, I pray thee, and disguise thy selfe, that they know not that thou art the wife of Ieroboam, and goe to Shiloh: for there is Ahiiah the Prophet, which tolde mee that I shoulde bee King ouer this people,
Jerobeám je rekel svoji ženi: »Vstani, prosim te in se preobleci, da te ne bodo spoznali, da si Jerobeámova žena in pojdi v Šilo. Glej, tam je prerok Ahíja, ki mi je povedal, da naj bi bil jaz kralj nad tem ljudstvom.
3 And take with thee tenne loaues and craknels, and a bottell of honie, and go to him: hee shall tell thee what shall become of the yong man.
S seboj vzemi deset hlebov, kolačke in vrč medu in pojdi k njemu. Povedal ti bo, kaj bo z otrokom.«
4 And Ieroboams wife did so, and arose, and went to Shiloh, and came to the house of Ahiiah: but Ahiiah could not see, for his sight was decayed for his age.
Jerobeámova žena je tako storila, vstala, odšla v Šilo in prišla k Ahijevi hiši. Toda Ahíja je ni mogel videti, kajti njegove oči so zaradi starosti otemnele.
5 Then the Lord saide vnto Ahiiah, Beholde, the wife of Ieroboam commeth to aske a thing of thee for her sonne, for he is sicke: thus and thus shalt thou say vnto her: for when shee commeth in, shee shall feine her selfe to be another.
Gospod je rekel Ahiju: »Glej, prihaja Jerobeámova žena, da od tebe prosi stvar za svojega sina, kajti on je bolan. Tako in tako ji boš rekel, kajti tako bo, ko bo vstopila, da se bo pretvarjala, da je druga ženska.«
6 Therefore when Ahiiah heard the sounde of her feete as shee came in at the doore, hee saide, Come in, thou wife of Ieroboam: why feinest thou thus thy selfe to bee an other? I am sent to thee with heauie tidings.
To je bilo tako, da ko je Ahíja zaslišal glas njenih stopal, ko je vstopila pri vratih, je rekel: »Vstopi, ti Jerobeámova žena; zakaj se pretvarjaš, da si druga? Kajti k tebi sem poslan s težkimi novicami.
7 Goe, tel Ieroboam, Thus saith the Lord God of Israel, Forasmuch as I haue exalted thee from among the people, and haue made thee prince ouer my people Israel,
Pojdi, povej Jerobeámu: ›Tako govori Gospod, Izraelov Bog: ›Ker sem te povišal izmed ljudstva in te naredil princa nad svojim ljudstvom Izraelom
8 And haue rent the kingdome away from the house of Dauid, and haue giuen it thee, and thou hast not bene as my seruant Dauid, which kept my commandements, and followed mee with all his heart, and did onely that which was right in mine eyes,
in kraljestvo odtrgal od Davidove hiše in ga dal tebi; pa vendar ti nisi bil kakor moj služabnik David, ki je ohranjal moje zapovedi in ki mi je sledil z vsem svojim srcem, da počne samo to, kar je bilo pravilno v mojih očeh,
9 But hast done euil aboue al that were before thee (for thou hast gone and made thee other gods, and molten images, to prouoke me, and hast cast me behinde thy backe)
temveč si storil zlo bolj kot vsi, ki so bili pred teboj, kajti odšel si in si naredil druge bogove in ulite podobe, da me dražiš do jeze in si me vrgel za svoj hrbet.
10 Therefore beholde, I will bring euill vpon the house of Ieroboam, and will cut off from Ieroboam him that pisseth against the wall, aswell him that is shut vp, as him that is left in Israel, and will sweepe away the remnant of the house of Ieroboam, as a man sweepeth away doung, till it be all gone.
Zato glej, jaz bom nad Jerobeámovo hišo privedel zlo in od Jerobeáma bom iztrebil tistega, ki lula proti zidu in tistega, ki je zaprt in je ostal v Izraelu in odvzel bom preostanek Jerobeámove hiše, kakor človek odvaža gnoj, dokler ta ves ne izgine.
11 The dogges shall eate him of Ieroboams stocke that dyeth in the citie, and the foules of the aire shall eate him that dyeth in the fielde: for the Lord hath said it.
Tistega, ki bo od Jerobeámovih umrl v mestu, bodo žrli psi. Tistega pa, ki umre na polju, bo žrla perjad neba, kajti Gospod je to govoril.
12 Vp therefore and get thee to thine house: for when thy feete enter into the citie, the childe shall die.
Vstani torej, pojdi k svoji lastni hiši in ko tvoja stopala vstopijo v mesto, bo otrok umrl.
13 And al Israel shall mourne for him, and burie him: for he onely of Ieroboam shall come to the graue, because in him there is found some goodnes towarde the Lord God of Israel in the house of Ieroboam.
Ves Izrael bo žaloval za njim in ga pokopal, kajti on bo edini izmed Jerobeámovih prišel do groba, ker se je v Jerobeámovi hiši v njem našla neka dobra stvar do Gospoda, Izraelovega Boga.
14 Moreouer, the Lord shall stirre him vp a King ouer Israel, which shall destroy the house of Ieroboam in that day: what? yea, euen nowe.
Poleg tega si bo Gospod dvignil kralja nad Izraelom, ki bo tisti dan iztrebil Jerobeámovo hišo. Toda kaj? Celo sedaj.
15 For the Lord shall smite Israel, as when a reede is shaken in the water, and hee shall weede Israel out of his good lad, which he gaue to their fathers, and shall scatter them beyond the Riuer, because they haue made them groues, prouoking the Lord to anger.
Kajti Gospod bo udaril Izraela, kakor se trst maje v vodi in Izraela bo izkoreninil iz te dobre dežele, ki jo je dal njihovim očetom in razkropil jih bo preko reke, ker so si naredili svoje ašere, izzivajoč Gospoda do jeze.
16 And he shall giue Israel vp, because of the sinnes of Ieroboam, who did sinne, and made Israel to sinne.
Izraela se bo odrekel zaradi grehov Jerobeáma, ki je storil greh in ki je Izraela pripravil, da greši.‹«
17 And Ieroboams wife arose, and departed, and came to Tirzah, and when shee came to the threshold of the house, the yong man dyed,
Jerobeámova žena je vstala, odšla in prišla v Tirco in ko je prišla k pragu vrat, je otrok umrl
18 And they buried him, and all Israel lamented him; according to the word of the Lord, which hee spake by the hand of his seruant Ahiiah the Prophet.

19 And the rest of Ieroboams actes, how hee warred, and howe hee reigned, beholde, they are written in the booke of the Chronicles of the Kings of Israel.
Ostala Jerobeámova dela, kako se je vojskoval in kako je kraljeval, glej, ta so zapisana v kroniški knjigi Izraelovih kraljev.
20 And the dayes which Ieroboam reigned, were two and twentie yeere: and he slept with his fathers, and Nadab his sonne reigned in his steade.
Dni, ko je Jerobeám kraljeval, je bilo dvaindvajset let in zaspal je s svojimi očeti in namesto njega je zakraljeval njegov sin Nadáb.
21 Also Rehoboam the sonne of Salomon reigned in Iudah. Rehoboam was one and fourtie yere olde, when he began to reigne, and reigned seuenteene yere in Ierusalem, the citie which the Lord did chuse out of al the tribes of Israel, to put his Name there: and his mothers name was Naamah an Ammonite.
Salomonov sin Rehabám je kraljeval v Judu. Rehabám je bil star enainštirideset let, ko je začel kraljevati in v Jeruzalemu je kraljeval sedemnajst let, mestu, ki ga je Gospod izbral izmed vseh Izraelovih rodov, da tam postavi svoje ime. Ime njegove matere je bilo Amónka Naáma.
22 And Iudah wrought wickednesse in the sight of the Lord: and they prouoked him more with their sinnes, which they had committed, then all that which their fathers had done.
Juda je počel zlo v Gospodovih očeh in s svojimi grehi, ki so jih zagrešili, so ga dražili do ljubosumnosti, nad vsem, kar so počeli njihovi očetje.
23 For they also made them hie places, and images, and groues on euery hie hill, and vnder euery greene tree.
Kajti zgradili so si tudi visoke kraje, podobe in ašere na vsakem visokem hribu in pod vsakim zelenim drevesom.
24 There were also Sodomites in the lande, they did according to all the abominations of the nations, which the Lord had cast out before the children of Israel.
V deželi so bili tudi posvečeni vlačugarji in ti so počeli glede na vse ogabnosti narodov, ki jih je Gospod pregnal pred Izraelovimi otroki.
25 And in the fift yere of King Rehoboam, Shishak King of Egypt came vp against Ierusale,
Pripetilo se je v petem letu kralja Rehabáma, da je egiptovski kralj Šišák prišel gor nad Jeruzalem.
26 And tooke the treasures of the house of the Lord, and the treasures of the Kings house, and tooke away all: also he caried away all the shields of golde which Salomon had made.
Odnesel je zaklade Gospodove hiše in zaklade kraljeve hiše, celo vse je odnesel. Odnesel je vse zlate ščite, ki jih je Salomon naredil.
27 And King Rehoboam made for them brasen shieldes, and committed them vnto ye hands of the chiefe of the garde, which wayted at the doore of the Kings house.
Kralj Rehabám je namesto njih naredil bronaste ščite in jih predal v roke vodje straže, ki je varoval vrata kraljeve hiše.
28 And when the King went into the house of the Lord, the garde bare them, and brought them againe into the gard chamber.
To je bilo tako, kadar je kralj odšel v Gospodovo hišo, da jih je straža nosila in jih [potem] ponovno odnesla v stražarnico.
29 And the rest of the actes of Rehoboam, and all that hee did, are they not written in the booke of the Chronicles of the Kings of Iudah?
Torej preostala izmed Rehabámovih dejanj in vse, kar je storil, mar niso zapisana v kroniški knjigi Judovih kraljev?
30 And there was warre betweene Rehoboam and Ieroboam continually.
Med Rehabámom in Jerobeámom pa je bila vse njune dni vojna.
31 And Rehoboam slept with his fathers, and was buried with his fathers in the citie of Dauid: his mothers name was Naamah an Ammonite. And Abiiam his sonne reigned in his stead.
Rehabám je zaspal s svojimi očeti in bil s svojimi očeti pokopan v Davidovem mestu. Ime njegove matere je bilo Amónka Naáma. Namesto njega je zakraljeval njegov sin Abíjam.
