1 Corinthians 11
1 Be yee followers of mee, euen as I am of Christ.

2 Now brethren, I commend you, that ye remember all my things, and keepe the ordinances, as I deliuered them to you.
tathaapi mamai. saa vaa nchaa yad yuuyamidam avagataa bhavatha,
3 But I wil that ye know, that Christ is the head of euery man: and the man is the womans head: and God is Christs head.
ekaikasya puru. sasyottamaa"ngasvaruupa. h khrii. s.ta. h, yo. sita"scottamaa"ngasvaruupa. h pumaan, khrii. s.tasya cottamaa"ngasvaruupa ii"svara. h|
4 Euery man praying or prophecying hauing any thing on his head, dishonoureth his head.
aparam aacchaaditottamaa"ngena yena pu. msaa praarthanaa kriyata ii"svariiyavaa. nii kathyate vaa tena sviiyottamaa"ngam avaj naayate|
5 But euery woman that prayeth or prophecieth bare headed, dishonoureth her head: for it is euen one very thing, as though she were shauen.
anaacchaaditottamaa"ngayaa yayaa yo. sitaa ca praarthanaa kriyata ii"svariiyavaa. nii kathyate vaa tayaapi sviiyottamaa"ngam avaj naayate yata. h saa mu. n.dita"sira. hsad. r"saa|
6 Therefore if the woman be not couered, let her also be shorne: and if it be shame for a woman to be shorne or shauen, let her be couered.
anaacchaaditamastakaa yaa yo. sit tasyaa. h "sira. h mu. n.daniiyameva kintu yo. sita. h ke"sacchedana. m "siromu. n.dana. m vaa yadi lajjaajanaka. m bhavet tarhi tayaa sva"sira aacchaadyataa. m|
7 For a man ought not to couer his head: for as much as he is the image and glory of God: but the woman is the glory of the man.
pumaan ii"svarasya pratimuurtti. h pratiteja. hsvaruupa"sca tasmaat tena "siro naacchaadaniiya. m kintu siimantinii pu. msa. h pratibimbasvaruupaa|
8 For the man is not of the woman, but the woman of the man.
yato yo. saata. h pumaan nodapaadi kintu pu. mso yo. sid udapaadi|
9 For the man was not created for the womans sake: but the woman for the mans sake.
adhikantu yo. sita. h k. rte pu. msa. h s. r.s. ti rna babhuuva kintu pu. msa. h k. rte yo. sita. h s. r.s. ti rbabhuuva|
10 Therefore ought the woman to haue power on her head, because of the Angels.
iti heto rduutaanaam aadaraad yo. sitaa "sirasyadhiinataasuucakam aavara. na. m dharttavya. m|
11 Neuertheles, neither is the man without the woman, neither the woman without the man in the Lord.
tathaapi prabho rvidhinaa pumaa. msa. m vinaa yo. sinna jaayate yo. sita nca vinaa pumaan na jaayate|
12 For as the woman is of the man, so is the man also by the woman: but all things are of God.
yato yathaa pu. mso yo. sid udapaadi tathaa yo. sita. h pumaan jaayate, sarvvavastuuni ce"svaraad utpadyante|
13 Iudge in your selues, Is it comely that a woman pray vnto God vncouered?
yu. smaabhirevaitad vivicyataa. m, anaav. rtayaa yo. sitaa praarthana. m ki. m sud. r"sya. m bhavet?
14 Doeth not nature it selfe teach you, that if a man haue long heare, it is a shame vnto him?
puru. sasya diirghake"satva. m tasya lajjaajanaka. m, kintu yo. sito diirghake"satva. m tasyaa gauravajanaka. m
15 But if a woman haue long heare, it is a prayse vnto her: for her heare is giuen her for a couering.
yata aacchaadanaaya tasyai ke"saa dattaa iti ki. m yu. smaabhi. h svabhaavato na "sik. syate?
16 But if any man lust to be contentious, we haue no such custome, neither the Churches of God.
atra yadi ka"scid vivaditum icchet tarhyasmaakam ii"svariiyasamitiinaa nca taad. r"sii riiti rna vidyate|
17 Nowe in this that I declare, I prayse you not, that ye come together, not with profite, but with hurt.
yu. smaabhi rna bhadraaya kintu kutsitaaya samaagamyate tasmaad etaani bhaa. samaa. nena mayaa yuuya. m na pra"sa. msaniiyaa. h|
18 For first of all, when ye come together in the Church, I heare that there are dissentions among you: and I beleeue it to be true in some part.
prathamata. h samitau samaagataanaa. m yu. smaaka. m madhye bhedaa. h santiiti vaarttaa mayaa "sruuyate tanmadhye ki ncit satya. m manyate ca|
19 For there must be heresies euen among you, that they which are approoued among you, might be knowen.
yato heto ryu. smanmadhye ye pariik. sitaaste yat prakaa"syante tadartha. m bhedai rbhavitavyameva|
20 When ye come together therefore into one place, this is not to eate the Lords Supper.
ekatra samaagatai ryu. smaabhi. h prabhaava. m bhejya. m bhujyata iti nahi;
21 For euery man when they should eate, taketh his owne supper afore, and one is hungry, and another is drunken.
yato bhojanakaale yu. smaakamekaikena svakiiya. m bhak. sya. m tuur. na. m grasyate tasmaad eko jano bubhuk. sitasti. s.thati, anya"sca parit. rpto bhavati|
22 Haue ye not houses to eate and to drinke in? despise ye the Church of God, and shame them that haue not? what shall I say to you? shall I prayse you in this? I prayse you not.
bhojanapaanaartha. m yu. smaaka. m ki. m ve"smaani na santi? yu. smaabhi rvaa kim ii"svarasya samiti. m tucchiik. rtya diinaa lokaa avaj naayante? ityanena mayaa ki. m vaktavya. m? yuuya. m ki. m mayaa pra"sa. msaniiyaa. h? etasmin yuuya. m na pra"sa. msaniiyaa. h|
23 For I haue receiued of the Lord that which I also haue deliuered vnto you, to wit, That the Lord Iesus in the night when he was betrayed, tooke bread:
prabhuto ya upade"so mayaa labdho yu. smaasu samarpita"sca sa e. sa. h|
24 And when hee had giuen thankes, hee brake it, and sayde, Take, eate: this is my body, which is broken for you: this doe ye in remembrance of me.
parakarasamarpa. nak. sapaayaa. m prabhu ryii"su. h puupamaadaaye"svara. m dhanya. m vyaah. rtya ta. m bha"nktvaa bhaa. sitavaan yu. smaabhiretad g. rhyataa. m bhujyataa nca tad yu. smatk. rte bhagna. m mama "sariira. m; mama smara. naartha. m yu. smaabhiretat kriyataa. m|
25 After the same maner also he tooke the cup, when he had supped, saying, This cup is the Newe Testament in my blood: this doe as oft as ye drinke it, in remembrance of me.
puna"sca bhejanaat para. m tathaiva ka. msam aadaaya tenokta. m ka. mso. aya. m mama "so. nitena sthaapito nuutananiyama. h; yativaara. m yu. smaabhiretat piiyate tativaara. m mama smara. naartha. m piiyataa. m|
26 For as often as ye shall eate this bread, and drinke this cup, ye shewe the Lords death till hee come.
yativaara. m yu. smaabhire. sa puupo bhujyate bhaajanenaanena piiyate ca tativaara. m prabhoraagamana. m yaavat tasya m. rtyu. h prakaa"syate|
27 Wherefore, whosoeuer shall eate this bread, and drinke the cup of the Lord vnworthily, shall be guiltie of the body and blood of the Lord.
apara nca ya. h ka"scid ayogyatvena prabhorima. m puupam a"snaati tasyaanena bhaajanena pivati ca sa prabho. h kaayarudhirayo rda. n.dadaayii bhavi. syati|
28 Let euery man therefore examine himselfe, and so let him eate of this bread, and drinke of this cup.
tasmaat maanavenaagra aatmaana pariik. sya pa"scaad e. sa puupo bhujyataa. m ka. msenaanena ca piiyataa. m|
29 For he that eateth and drinketh vnworthily, eateth and drinketh his owne damnation, because he discerneth not the Lords body.
yena caanarhatvena bhujyate piiyate ca prabho. h kaayam avim. r"sataa tena da. n.dapraaptaye bhujyate piiyate ca|
30 For this cause many are weake, and sicke among you, and many sleepe.
etatkaara. naad yu. smaaka. m bhuuri"so lokaa durbbalaa rogi. na"sca santi bahava"sca mahaanidraa. m gataa. h|
31 For if we would iudge our selues, we should not be iudged.
asmaabhi ryadyaatmavicaaro. akaari. syata tarhi da. n.do naalapsyata;
32 But when we are iudged, we are chastened of the Lord, because we should not be condemned with the world.
kintu yadaasmaaka. m vicaaro bhavati tadaa vaya. m jagato janai. h sama. m yad da. n.da. m na labhaamahe tadartha. m prabhunaa "saasti. m bhu. mjmahe|
33 Wherefore, my brethren, when ye come together to eate, tary one for another.
he mama bhraatara. h, bhojanaartha. m militaanaa. m yu. smaakam ekenetaro. anug. rhyataa. m|
34 And if any man be hungry, let him eate at home, that ye come not together vnto condemnation. Other things will I set in order when I come.
ya"sca bubhuk. sita. h sa svag. rhe bhu"nktaa. m| da. n.dapraaptaye yu. smaabhi rna samaagamyataa. m| etadbhinna. m yad aade. s.tavya. m tad yu. smatsamiipaagamanakaale mayaadek. syate|
