1 Corinthians 1
1 Paul called to be an Apostle of Iesus Christ, through the will of God, and our brother Sosthenes,
Phaawulos isa akka ergamaa Kiristoos Yesuus taʼuuf fedhii Waaqaatiin waamamee fi obboleessa keenya Soosteenes irraa,
2 Vnto the Church of God, which is at Corinthus, to them that are sanctified in Christ Iesus, Saintes by calling, with all that call on the Name of our Lord Iesus Christ in euery place, both their Lord, and ours:
Gara waldaa Waaqaa ishee Qorontos keessa jirtuutti, gara warra Kiristoos Yesuusiin qulqulleeffamanii fi warra lafa hundaa kanneen maqaa Gooftaa keenya Yesuus Kiristoos isa Gooftaa isaaniitii fi Gooftaa keenyas taʼe sanaa waammatan hunda wajjin qulqulloota taʼuuf waamamaniitti:
3 Grace be with you, and peace from God our Father, and from the Lord Iesus Christ.
Ayyaannii fi nagaan Abbaa keenya Waaqaa fi Yesuus Kiristoos Gooftaa irraa isiniif haa taʼu.
4 I thanke my God alwayes on your behalfe for the grace of God, which is giuen you in Iesus Christ,
Ani yeroo hunda ayyaana Waaqaa isa Kiristoos Yesuusiin isinii kennameef waaʼee keessaniif Waaqa nan galateeffadha.
5 That in all things ye are made rich in him, in all kinde of speach, and in all knowledge:
Isinis karaa hundaan jechuunis dubbii fi beekumsa hundaan isaan badhaataniirtu;
6 As the testimonie of Iesus Christ hath bene confirmed in you:
wanti nu waaʼee Kiristoos dhugaa baane sun isin gidduutti mirkaneeffameeraatii.
7 So that ye are not destitute of any gift: wayting for the appearing of our Lord Iesus Christ.
Kanaafuu utuu mulʼachuu Gooftaa keenya Yesuus Kiristoos eeggachaa jirtanuu kennaan hafuuraa tokko iyyuu isin jalaa hin hirʼatu.
8 Who shall also confirme you vnto the ende, that ye may be blamelesse, in the day of our Lord Iesus Christ.
Akka isin guyyaa Gooftaa keenya Yesuus Kiristoositti warra mudaa hin qabne taataniifis inni hamma dhumaatti jabeessee isin eega.
9 God is faithfull, by whom ye are called vnto the fellowship of his Sonne Iesus Christ our Lord.
Waaqni gara tokkummaa Ilma isaa Gooftaa keenya Yesuus Kiristoositti isin waame sun amanamaa dha.
10 Nowe I beseeche you, brethren, by the Name of our Lord Iesus Christ, that ye all speake one thing, and that there be no dissensions among you: but be ye knit together in one mind, and in one iudgement.
Yaa obboloota, ani akka isin gidduu gargar baʼuun hin jiraannee fi akka qalbii fi yaada tokko qabaattanii hundi keessan walii galtaniif maqaa Gooftaa keenya Yesuus Kiristoosiin isin kadhadha.
11 For it hath bene declared vnto me, my brethren, of you by them that are of the house of Cloe, that there are contentions among you.
Yaa obboloota ko, akka isin gidduu lolli jiru warri mana Kiloʼee jiraatan tokko tokko natti himaniiru.
12 Nowe this I say, that euery one of you saith, I am Pauls, and I am Apollos, and I am Cephas, and I am Christs.
Wanti ani jedhus kana: Isin keessaa namni tokko, “Ani kan Phaawulos” jedha; inni kaan, “Ani kan Apholoos” jedha; kaanis, “Ani kan Keefaa ti” jedha; kaan immoo, “Ani kan Kiristoos” jedha.
13 Is Christ deuided? was Paul crucified for you? either were ye baptized into the name of Paul?
Kiristoos gargar qoodameeraa? Phaawulositu isinii fannifame ree? Yookaan maqaa Phaawulosiin cuuphamtanii?
14 I thanke God, that I baptized none of you, but Crispus, and Gaius,
Ani Kiriisphoosii fi Gaayoosin malee isin keessaa nama tokko illee waan hin cuuphiniif Waaqa nan galateeffadha.
15 Lest any should say, that I had baptized into mine owne name.
Kanaaf namni akka isin maqaa kootiin cuuphamtan dubbachuu dandaʼu tokko iyyuu hin jiru.
16 I baptized also the houshold of Stephanas: furthermore knowe I not, whether I baptized any other.
Eeyyee, ani warra mana Isxiifaanaas jiraatanis akkasuma cuupheera; sanaan alatti nama biraa tokko illee cuuphuu koo hin yaadadhu.
17 For CHRIST sent me not to baptize, but to preache the Gospel, not with wisdome of wordes, lest the crosse of Christ should be made of none effect.
Kiristoos akka ani wangeela lallabuuf malee akka ani cuuphuuf na hin ergineetii; anis akka fannoon Kiristoos humna hin dhabneef dubbii ogummaa namaatiin hin lallabu.
18 For that preaching of the crosse is to them that perish, foolishnesse: but vnto vs, which are saued, it is the power of God.
Dubbiin fannoo warra baduuf jiraniif gowwummaadhaatii; nu warra fayyinuuf garuu humna Waaqaa ti.
19 For it is written, I will destroy the wisedome of the wise, and will cast away the vnderstanding of the prudent.
Kunis, “Ani ogummaa ogeeyyii nan balleessa; hubannaa hubattootaas nan fashaleessa” jedhamee barreeffameera.
20 Where is the wise? where is the Scribe? where is the disputer of this worlde? hath not God made the wisedome of this worlde foolishnesse? (aiōn g165)
Namni ogeessi eessa jira? Hayyuun eessa jira? Falaasamaan bara kanaa eessa jira? Waaqni ogummaa addunyaa kanaa gowwummaa hin goonee ree? (aiōn g165)
21 For seeing the worlde by wisedome knewe not God in the wisedome of GOD, it pleased God by the foolishnesse of preaching to saue them that beleeue:
Sababii ogummaa Waaqaatiin addunyaan karaa ogummaa isheetiin Waaqa waan hin beekiniif, Waaqni gowwummaa lallabaatiin warra amanan fayyisuu jaallate.
22 Seeing also that the Iewes require a signe, and the Grecians seeke after wisdome.
Yihuudoonni mallattoo fedhu; Giriikonni immoo ogummaa barbaadu;
23 But wee preach Christ crucified: vnto the Iewes, euen a stumbling blocke, and vnto the Grecians, foolishnesse:
nu garuu Kiristoos isa fannifame sana lallabna; innis Yihuudootatti gufuu dha; Namoota Ormaatiif immoo gowwummaa dha;
24 But vnto them which are called, both of the Iewes and Grecians, we preach Christ, the power of God, and the wisedome of God.
warra waamamaniif garuu Yihuudootaafis taʼu Giriikotaaf Kiristoos humna Waaqaatii fi ogummaa Waaqaa ti.
25 For the foolishnesse of God is wiser then men, and the weakenesse of God is stronger then men.
Gowwummaan Waaqaa ogummaa namaa caalaa ogeessaatii; dadhabbiin Waaqaas jabina namaa irra jabaa dha.
26 For brethren, you see your calling, how that not many wise men after the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble are called.
Yaa obboloota, isin yeroo waamamtanitti maal akka turtan yaadadhaa. Akka ilaalcha namaatti baayʼeen keessan ogeeyyii hin turre; baayʼeen keessanis beekamoo hin turre; baayʼeen keessan immoo sanyii warra gurguddaa irraa hin dhalanne.
27 But God hath chosen the foolish thinges of the world to confound the wise, and God hath chosen the weake thinges of the worlde, to confound the mightie things,
Waaqni garuu ogeeyyii qaanessuuf jedhee waan addunyaa irratti gowwaa taʼe filate; Waaqni warra jajjabeeyyii qaanessuuf jedhee waan addunyaa irratti dadhabaa taʼe filate.
28 And vile things of the worlde and thinges which are despised, hath God chosen, and thinges which are not, to bring to nought thinges that are,
Waaqni waan jiru waan hin jirre gochuuf, waan addunyaa kana irratti gad aanaa fi tuffatamaa taʼe, waan iddoo hin qabnes filate;
29 That no flesh shoulde reioyce in his presence.
kunis akka eenyu iyyuu isa duratti of hin jajneef.
30 But ye are of him in Christ Iesus, who of God is made vnto vs wisedome and righteousnesse, and sanctification, and redemption,
Isin sababii isaatiin kan Kiristoos Yesuus taatan; inni ogummaa keenya kan Waaqa biraa dhufe jechuunis qajeelummaa keenya, qulqullummaa fi furii keenyaa dha.
31 That, according as it is written, Hee that reioyceth, let him reioyce in the Lord.
Kunis akkuma, “Namni boonu Gooftaadhaan haa boonu” jedhamee barreeffamee dha.
