Psalms 18
1 To the music director. A psalm of David the servant of the Lord, who sang the words of this song to the Lord on the day when the Lord saved him from all his enemies, and from Saul. He sang: I love you, Lord. You are my strength.
Eu te amarei do coração, ó Senhor, fortaleza minha.
2 The Lord is my rock, my fortress, and my Savior. He is my God, my rock who protects me. He shields me from harm, his power protects me, he keeps me safe.
O Senhor é o meu rochedo, e o meu logar forte e o meu libertador; o meu Deus, a minha fortaleza, em quem confio, o meu escudo, a força da minha salvação, e o meu alto refugio.
3 I call for help from the Lord who should be praised, and he saves me from those who hate me.
Invocarei o nome do Senhor, que é digno de louvor, e ficarei livre dos meus inimigos.
4 Ropes of death encircled me, surging waters of destruction flooded over me;
Tristezas de morte me cercaram, e torrentes de impiedade me assombraram.
Tristezas do inferno me cingiram, laços de morte me surprehenderam. (Sheol h7585)
6 In my despair I called on the Lord—I cried out to my God for help. He heard my voice from his Temple—my cry for help reached his ears.
Na angustia invoquei ao Senhor, e clamei ao meu Deus: desde o seu templo ouviu a minha voz, aos seus ouvidos chegou o meu clamor perante a sua face.
7 The earth shook to and fro; the foundations of the mountains trembled, shaking because of his anger.
Então a terra se abalou e tremeu; e os fundamentos dos montes tambem se moveram e se abalaram, porquanto se indignou.
8 Smoke came out of his nostrils, and fire came from his mouth; burning coals blazed before him.
Do seu nariz subiu fumo, e da sua bocca saiu fogo que consumia; carvões se accenderam d'elle.
9 He parted the heavens and came down, with dark clouds beneath his feet.
Abaixou os céus, e desceu, e a escuridão estava debaixo de seus pés.
10 Riding on an angel he flew, swooping on the wings of the wind.
E montou n'um cherubim, e voou; sim, voou sobre as azas do vento.
11 He hid himself in darkness, covering himself with black thunderclouds.
Fez das trevas o seu logar occulto; o pavilhão que o cercava era a escuridão das aguas e as nuvens dos céus.
12 Hailstones and burning coals flew out from his brightness, passing through his thick clouds.
Ao resplandor da sua presença as nuvens se espalharam; a saraiva e as brazas de fogo.
13 The Lord thundered from heaven; the voice of the Most High sounded among the hailstones and burning coals.
E o Senhor trovejou nos céus, o Altissimo levantou a sua voz; a saraiva e as brazas de fogo.
14 He fired his arrows, scattering his enemies; he routed them with his lightning bolts.
Despediu as suas settas, e os espalhou: multiplicou raios, e os perturbou.
15 You roared, Lord, and by the wind from the breath of your nostrils the valleys of the sea were exposed and the foundations of the earth were uncovered.
Então foram vistas as profundezas das aguas, e foram descobertos os fundamentos do mundo; pela tua reprehensão. Senhor, ao sopro do vento dos teus narizes.
16 He reached down his hand from above and grabbed hold of me. He pulled me out of the deep water.
Enviou desde o alto, e me tomou: tirou-me das muitas aguas.
17 He rescued me from my powerful enemies, from those who hated me and who were much stronger than me.
Livrou-me do meu inimigo forte e dos que me aborreciam, pois eram mais poderosos do que eu.
18 They came at me at my worst possible moment, but the Lord supported me.
Surprehenderam-me no dia da minha calamidade; mas o Senhor foi o meu encosto.
19 He set me free, he rescued me because he's my friend.
Trouxe-me para um logar espaçoso; livrou-me, porque tinha prazer em mim.
20 The Lord rewarded me because I do what's right; he repaid me because I am innocent.
Recompensou-me o Senhor conforme a minha justiça, retribuiu-me conforme a pureza das minhas mãos.
21 For I have followed the Lord's ways; I have not sinned by turning away from my God.
Porque guardei os caminhos do Senhor, e não me apartei impiamente do meu Deus.
22 I have kept all his laws in mind; I have not ignored his commandments.
Porque todos os seus juizos estavam diante de mim, e não rejeitei os seus estatutos.
23 I am blameless in his sight; I keep myself from sinning.
Tambem fui sincero perante elle, e me guardei da minha iniquidade.
24 The Lord rewarded me for doing what's right. I am innocent in his sight.
Portanto retribuiu-me o Senhor conforme a minha justiça, conforme a pureza de minhas mãos perante os seus olhos.
25 You show trust to those who trust; you show integrity to those with integrity,
Com o benigno te mostrarás benigno; e com o homem sincero te mostrarás sincero;
26 You show yourself pure to those who are pure, but you show yourself smart to those who are crafty.
Com o puro te mostrarás puro; e com o perverso te mostrarás indomavel.
27 You save the humble, but you bring down the proud.
Porque tu livrarás ao povo afflicto, e abaterás os olhos altivos.
28 You light my lamp! Lord, my God, you light up my darkness!
Porque tu accenderás a minha candeia; o Senhor meu Deus allumiará as minhas trevas.
29 With you, I can charge down a troop of soldiers; with you, my God, I can climb a fortress wall.
Porque comtigo entrei pelo meio d'um esquadrão, com o meu Deus saltei uma muralha.
30 God's way is absolutely right. What the Lord says is trustworthy. He is a shield to all who come to him for protection.
O caminho de Deus é perfeito; a palavra do Senhor é provada: é um escudo para todos os que n'elle confiam.
31 For who is God except the Lord? Who is the rock, except our God?
Porque quem é Deus senão o Senhor? e quem é rochedo senão o nosso Deus?
32 God makes me strong and keeps me safe.
Deus é o que me cinge de força e aperfeiçoa o meu caminho.
33 He makes me surefooted like the deer, able to walk the heights in safety.
Faz os meus pés como os das cervas, e põe-me nas minhas alturas.
34 He teaches me how to fight in battle; he gives me the strength to draw a bronze bow.
Ensina as minhas mãos para a guerra, de sorte que os meus braços quebraram um arco de cobre.
35 You protect me with the shield of your salvation; you support me with your powerful right hand; your help has made me great.
Tambem me déste o escudo da tua salvação: a tua mão direita me susteve, e a tua mansidão me engrandeceu.
36 You gave me space in which to walk, and prevented my feet from slipping.
Alargaste os meus passos debaixo de mim, de maneira que os meus artelhos não vacillaram.
37 I chased my enemies, and caught up with them. I did not turn around until I had destroyed them.
Persegui os meus inimigos, e os alcancei: não voltei senão depois de os ter consumido.
38 I struck them down—they couldn't get up. They fell at my feet.
Atravessei-os, de sorte que não se poderam levantar: cairam debaixo dos meus pés.
39 You made me strong for battle; you made those who rose up against me kneel down before me.
Pois me cingiste de força para a peleja: fizeste abater debaixo de mim aquelles que contra mim se levantaram.
40 You made my enemies run away; I destroyed all my enemies.
Déste-me tambem o pescoço dos meus inimigos para que eu podesse destruir os que me aborrecem.
41 They cried out for help, but no one came to rescue them. They even called out to the Lord, but he did not answer them.
Clamaram, mas não houve quem os livrasse: até ao Senhor, mas elle não lhes respondeu.
42 I ground them into dust, like dust in the wind. I threw them out like mud in the street.
Então os esmiucei como o pó diante do vento; deitei-os fóra como a lama das ruas.
43 You rescued me from rebellious people; you made me ruler over nations—people I didn't know now serve me.
Livraste-me das contendas do povo, e me fizeste cabeça das nações; um povo que não conheci, me servirá.
44 As soon as they hear of me, they obey; foreigners cringe before me.
Em ouvindo a minha voz, me obedecerão: os estranhos se submetterão a mim.
45 They lose heart, and come trembling in surrender from their strongholds.
Os estranhos decairão, e terão medo nos seus encerramentos.
46 The Lord lives! Blessed be my rock! May the God who saves me be praised!
O Senhor vive: e bemdito seja o meu rochedo, e exaltado seja o Deus da minha salvação.
47 God avenges me, he subdues peoples under me,
É Deus que me vinga inteiramente, e sujeita os povos debaixo de mim;
48 he rescues me from those who hate me. You keep me safe from those who rebel against me, you save me from violent men.
O que me livra de meus inimigos; --sim, tu me exaltas sobre os que se levantam contra mim, tu me livras do homem violento.
49 That's why I will praise you among the nations, Lord; I will sing praises about who you are.
Pelo que, ó Senhor, te louvarei entre as nações, e cantarei louvores ao teu nome.
50 You have saved the king so often, showing your trustworthy love to David, your anointed, and to his descendants forever.
Pois engrandece a salvação do teu rei, e usa de benignidade com o seu ungido, com David, e com a sua semente para sempre.
