< Jonah 2 >

1 Then Jonah prayed to the Lord his God from the belly of the fish.
Yona firii apataa no yam bɔɔ Awurade ne Onyankopɔn mpaeɛ sɛ.
2 He began, “In my agony I cried out to the Lord and he answered me; from the depths of Sheol I pleaded for help and you answered me. (Sheol h7585)
Ɔkaa sɛ, “Mʼahohia mu mefrɛɛ Awurade, na ɔgyee me so. Mefiri adamena ase tɔnn srɛɛ mmoa na wotiee me sufrɛ. (Sheol h7585)
3 You threw me into the deep, all the way down to the bottom of the sea. Water flooded all around me; your crashing waves rolled over me.
Wotoo me twenee ebunu mu wɔ ɛpo ase tɔnn, na ɔhweam twaa me ho hyiaeɛ; wʼasorɔkye ne mframa bu faa me so.
4 I said to myself, ‘The Lord has banished me from his sight. Will I ever see your holy Temple again?’
Na mekaa sɛ, ‘Wɔapam me afiri wʼanim; nanso mede mʼani bɛkyerɛ wʼasɔredan kronkron no bio’
5 The water swirled over me so I couldn't breathe; the deep sucked me down; seaweed wrapped itself around my head.
Nsuo a abu afa me so no bɔɔ me hu, ebunu no twaa me ho hyiaeɛ; ɛpo mu wira kyekyeree me tiri ho.
6 I sank down to the base of the mountains; the earth barred me in forever. But you, my Lord, my God, brought me back up from the abyss.
Memem kɔɔ mmepɔ no ase pɛɛ; asase ase kaa me hyɛɛ mu afebɔɔ. Nanso wogyee me nkwa firii amena mu, Ao Awurade, me Onyankopɔn.
7 As my life ebbed away, I remembered the Lord; my prayer came to you in your holy Temple.
“Ɛberɛ a me nkwa resene akɔ no, mekaee wo Awurade, na me mpaeɛbɔ foro baa wo nkyɛn, wɔ wʼasɔredan kronkron no mu.
8 Those who worship worthless idols give up their trust in God's goodness.
“Wɔn a wɔde wɔn ho bata ahoni huhuo ho no hwere adom a anka ɛyɛ wɔn dea.
9 But I will offer you sacrifices, shouting out my thanks. I will keep my promises to you, for salvation comes from the Lord.”
Nanso me, mede ayɛyie nnwom bɛbɔ afɔdeɛ ama wo. Deɛ mahyɛ ho bɔ no, mɛyɛ. Nkwagyeɛ firi Awurade.”
10 Then the Lord told the fish to spit out Jonah onto the shore.
Na afei, Awurade hyɛɛ apataa no ma ɔfee Yona too asase so.
