< Isaiah 28 >

1 Tragedy is coming to the city of Samaria, the crowning glory of Ephraim's drunks, to the fading flower of wonderful beauty, sitting above a fertile valley, and beloved by those hammered by wine.
Anunae, Ephraim yurhui rhoek kah rhimomnah rhuisam neh a boeimang kirhang kah tamlaep khaw tahah coeng. Te te laimen kolrhawk kah a lu ah misurtui neh a thoek uh dae ta.
2 Watch out, for the Lord has someone who is strong and powerful! He is going to smash it to the ground like a hailstorm and a tornado, like a torrential rain and an overwhelming flood.
Boeipa taengkah tlungluen neh rhapsat la aka om tah rhaelnu khohli, lucik hlithae, cingtui tui rhilh bangla a yo te khaw a kut neh diklai la a tloeng ni.
3 That crowning glory of Ephraim's drunks will be trampled underfoot.
Ephraim yurhui kah rhimomnah rhuisam te a kho hmuiah a taelh uh ni.
4 That fading flower of wonderful beauty, sitting above a fertile valley, will be like figs ripe before the summer harvest—as soon as people discover them, they grab and eat them.
Laimen kolrhawk lu kah a boeimang kirhang rhaipai bangla aka hoo te khohal hlan kah thaihloe bangla om ni. Te te aka hmuh la aka hmuh dongah a kut nen khaw pahoi a dolh.
5 At that time the Lord Almighty will be a beautiful, glorious crown that brings pride to those of his people who are left.
Tekah khohnin ah tah caempuei BOEIPA te, a pilnam aka sueng ham kirhang rhuisam la, boeimang cangen la om ni.
6 He will be an inspiration to the judges to do what's right, and he will encourage those who fight off the attacks on the gate.
Laitloeknah dongah aka ngol ham tiktamnah mueihla la, caemtloek kah vongka ah aka mael tak kah thayung thamal la om ni.
7 But these people also drink so much wine and beer that they sway from side to side and stumble over. Even priests and prophets stagger along, their minds muddled by beer and wine. Because of the drink they are confused about visions and make mistakes when they give decisions.
Te rhoek khaw misurtui loh a palang sak. Khosoih neh tonghma khaw yu dongah taengphael uh. Yu dongah palang uh tih misur dongah bol uh. Yu dongah kho a hmang uh. Khohmu lamloh palang uh tih laitloek dongah lol uh.
8 All their tables are full of vomit—filth is everywhere.
Caboei tom te a lok kah a khawt baetawt la a hmuen tal.
9 “Just who is he trying to teach knowledge to?” they ask. “Who is he explaining his message to? To children just weaned from milk, to babies just removed from the breast?
Lungming la a thuinuet te unim, olthang aka yakming sak te unim? Rhangsuk lamloh tampo suktui aka kan te.
10 He tells us this blah and that blah, blah upon blah, and again blah and blah, and even more blah and blah! It's a bit here and a bit there.”
Olrhi soah olrhi te olrhi sokah olrhi neh, rhilam sokah rhilam te rhilam phoeikah rhilam neh hela vel, kela vel a ti.
11 Fine—so now the Lord will talk to this people in foreign languages that sound strange to them!
Te dongah hekah pilnam he tamdaengtamkha kah hmuilai neh, ol tloe neh a voek ni.
12 He had told them, “You can rest here. Let those who are tired rest. This is the place where you can safely relax.” But they refused to listen.
Amah loh amih taengah, “Hekah duemnah dongah buhmueh rhathih te duem saeh lamtah hilhoemnah he om saeh,” a ti nah. Tedae hnatun ham a ngaih uh moenih.
13 Therefore the Lord's message to them will become, “This blah and that blah, blah upon blah, and again blah and blah, and even more blah and blah, a bit here and a bit there,” so that they'll fall over backwards, and they'll be wounded, trapped, and captured.
Te dongah BOEIPA ol loh amih taengah olrhi sokah olrhi patoeng loh, olrhi phoeikah olrhi a tloe loh, rhilam sokah rhilam loh, rhilam phoeikah rhilam pakhat loh hela vel, kela vel om ni. Te daengah ni cet uh vetih a hnuk la a palet uh eh. Te vaengah khaem uh vetih a hlaeh uh ni, a tuuk uh ni.
14 So pay attention to the Lord's message, you scornful rulers who lead these people in Jerusalem.
Te dongah saipaat Jerusalem kah pilnam aka ngol thil hlang rhoek loh BOEIPA ol te ya uh lah.
15 You claim, “We've made an agreement with death; we've got a contract with the grave. When the terrible disaster rushes by, it won't affect us, because our lies protect us and we hide in our own deceptions.” (Sheol h7585)
“Dueknah neh paipi ka saii uh tih saelkhui taengah khohmu khaw ka khueh uh coeng. Mueirhih loh lawngkaih rhuihet la a vikvuek tih pongpa khaw pongpa mai saeh, mamih taengla ha pawk mahpawh. Laithae he mamih kah hlipyingnah la n'khueh uh tih a honghi khuiah n'thuh uh coeng,” na ti uh. (Sheol h7585)
16 Consequently, listen to what the Lord God says, Look! I'm laying a foundation stone in Jerusalem, a strong, well-tested stone. It's a valuable cornerstone that provides a firm foundation. Anyone who trusts in it won't be shaken loose.
Te dongah ka Boeipa Yahovah loh he a thui. Zion kah lungto, nuemnainah lungto aka tloeng khaw kamah ni he. Bangkil te lung vang tungkho a suen tih aka tangnah rhoek te tamto uh mahpawh.
17 I will make justice as straight as a measuring line, and doing what's right the standard rule. Hail will destroy the protection of your lies, and water will flood the place where you're hiding.
Tiktamnah he rhilam la, duengnah te mikrhael la ka khueh ni. Hlipyingnah laithae te rhaelnu loh a hnut vetih a huephael tui a yo pah ni.
18 Your agreement with death will be canceled; your contract with the grave will be revoked. When the terrible disaster rushes by, it will trample you underfoot. (Sheol h7585)
Dueknah taengkah na paipi loh n'dawth vetih saelkhui taengkah na mangthui khaw thoo mahpawh. Mueirhih rhuihet loh vikvuek uh tih m'pah vaengah te kah a cawtkoi la na om ni. (Sheol h7585)
19 It will rush by time after time, dragging you away morning upon morning, day and night, rushing on and on. Once you understand this message you will be absolutely terrified.
Te te ha pawk carhil nen te nangmih ngawn tah mincang, mincang ah n'loh ni. Khothaih ah khaw khoyin ah khaw m'pah vetih olthang n'yakming te tonganah la om ni.
20 The bed is too short so you can't stretch out; the blanket is too narrow so you can't cover yourself.
Khawk sak hamla thingkong te a rhaem pah tih, a calui ham mueihloe te khaw a yaem pah.
21 The Lord will come on the attack like he did to the Philistines at Mount Perazim, like he shook them in the Valley of Gibeon, coming to do what he has to do, his strange work; coming to act as he must, his unusual action.
Perazim tlang kah bangla BOEIPA te thoo ni. Gibeon kol kah bangla a bibi saii ham tlai ni. A bibi he lang tih a thothuengnah tah kholong kah a thothuengnah bangla thothueng ham ni.
22 So don't mock, or your imprisonment will be even worse, for the Lord, the Lord Almighty, has explained to me his decision to destroy the whole country.
Hmuiyoi voel boeh, namah kah kuelrhui loh m'ven ve. Khohmuen tom a boeihnah neh pha vitvawt he ka Boeipa caempuei Yahovah taeng lamkah ka yaak coeng.
23 Listen to what I'm saying! Listen and pay attention! Hear what I have to say!
Ka ol he hnakaeng lamtah ya uh lah, ka olthui he hnatung lamtah ya uh lah.
24 Does the farmer spend all his time ploughing? Does he spend all his time preparing the soil?
Lotawn ham lo aka yoe loh hnin takuem a yoe a? A khohmuen te a yawt tih a thoe ta.
25 Once he has everything ready doesn't he sow seeds like dill and cumin, doesn't he plant wheat and barley in rows, with spelt grain as a border?
A hman te a hnil moenih a? Tlangsungsing a phul tih sungsing khaw a haeh. Cang te a kok dongah a phung tih a rhibawn ah cangtun neh cangkuem a duen ta.
26 His God gives him instructions and teaches him the right thing to do.
Anih te a toel vaengah a Pathen kah tiktamnah te a taengah a thuinuet pah.
27 You don't use a heavy tool to thresh dill! You don't use the wheel of a cart to thresh cumin! Instead you use a stick to beat out the dill, and a rod to beat out the cumin.
Tlangsungsing te thingphael neh a boh tih sungsing te leng kho neh a kuelh thil moenih. Tedae tlangsungsing te caitueng neh, sungsing te conghol neh a boh ta.
28 Grain used for bread is easily damaged so you don't thresh it forever. When you drive your cart wheels over it with your horses, you don't crush it.
Buh khaw tip coeng dae a yoeyah la nook mahpawh. Te te a boh vaengah a leng kho neh a khawkkhek thil moenih. A marhang caem neh a tip sak moenih.
29 This is also from the Lord Almighty who is very wise and gives great advice.
He khaw caempuei BOEIPA taeng lamkah ni. Amah kah cilsuep tah khobaerhambae la ha pawk tih a lungming cueihnah a pantai sak.
