< Daniel 2 >

1 In the second year of Nebuchadnezzar's reign the king had dreams that upset him so much that he found it difficult to sleep.
Chaka chachiwiri cha ulamuliro wake, Nebukadinezara analota maloto; anavutika mu mtima mwake ndipo analephera kugona.
2 So the king summoned the magicians, enchanters, sorcerers, and astrologers to tell him what he had dreamed. They came in and stood before him.
Tsono mfumu inayitana amatsenga, owombeza, amawula ndi oyangʼana nyenyezi kuti amufotokozere zomwe analota. Pamene iwo analowa ndi kuyima pamaso pa mfumu,
3 “I've had a dream that has really upset me,” he told them. “I need to know what it means.”
mfumuyo inawawuza kuti, “Ndalota loto lomwe likundisautsa ndipo ndikufuna kudziwa tanthauzo lake.”
4 The astrologers answered the king in Aramaic, “May Your Majesty the king live forever! Tell us your dream and we your servants will interpret it for you.”
Pamenepa alawuli anati kwa mfumu mʼChiaramu, “Mukhale ndi moyo wautali mfumu! Tiwuzeni ife atumiki anu zimene mwalota, ndipo tidzakuwuzani tanthauzo lake.”
5 “I can't recall it,” the king told the astrologers. “If you can't reveal the dream to me, and its meaning, you will be cut into pieces and your houses will be totally destroyed!
Mfumu inayankha alawuliwo kuti, “Zimene ndatsimikiza kuchita ndi izi: Ngati inu simundifotokozera zimene ndalota ndi tanthauzo lake, mudzadulidwa nthulinthuli ndipo nyumba zanu ndidzazisandutsa bwinja.
6 But if you can tell me the dream and its meaning you will receive from me gifts, rewards, and great honor. So tell me the dream and what it means!”
Koma ngati mundiwuza zimene ndalota ndi tanthauzo lake, ndidzakupatsani mphatso ndi mphotho ndi ulemu waukulu. Choncho mundiwuze zimene ndalota ndi tanthauzo lake.”
7 Again they said the same thing: “If Your Majesty the king would tell us his servants the dream, we will explain what it means.”
Iwo anayankhanso kachiwiri kuti, “Mfumu iwuze atumiki ake chimene yalota, ndipo ife tidzatanthauzira.”
8 “It's obvious to me that you're just trying to buy time!” said the king. “You can see that I can't remember the dream.
Ndipo mfumu inayankha kuti, “Ine ndikudziwa kuti mukungozengereza kufuna kutaya nthawi chabe chifukwa mukuzindikira kuti izi ndi zimene ndatsimikiza kuchita.
9 If you can't reveal the dream to me, you will all receive the same punishment! You have conspired against me, telling me lies, hoping things will change. So tell me what my dream was and then I'll know that you can explain what it means.”
Ngati simundiwuza zimene ndalota, chilango chake ndi chimodzi. Inu mwagwirizana kuti mundiwuze ine bodza ndi chinyengo ndi kuyembekeza kuti ine ndisintha. Tsono mundiwuze zimene ndalota, ndipo ine ndidzadziwa kuti mukhoza kunditanthauzira.”
10 The astrologers answered the king, “No one on earth could tell the king what he dreamed! Never before has a king, however great and powerful, demanded this of any magician, enchanter, or astrologer!
Alawuli anayankha mfumu kuti, “Palibe munthu pa dziko lapansi amene akhoza kuchita chimene mfumu ikufunsa! Palibe mfumu, kaya yayikulu kapena yamphamvu bwanji imene inafunsapo amatsenga, owombeza kapena alawuli aliwonse zimenezi.
11 What Your Majesty is asking is impossible! No one can tell Your Majesty what you dreamed, except the gods, and they do not live among us mortals.”
Zimene mfumu yafunsa ndi zapatali. Palibe wina amene angathe kuwulula izi kwa mfumu kupatula milungu, ndipo sikhala pakati pa anthu.”
12 This made the king extremely angry, and he ordered all the wise men of Babylon executed.
Zimenezi zinapsetsa mtima mfumu ndipo inakwiya kwambiri kotero inalamula kuti anzeru onse a ku Babuloni aphedwe.
13 The decree was issued. The wise men were about to be executed, and the king's men went looking for Daniel and his friends.
Choncho lamulo linaperekedwa kuti anthu anzeru aphedwe, ndipo anatuma anthu kukafunafuna Danieli ndi anzake kuti iwonso aphedwe.
14 Daniel approached Arioch, the commander of the imperial guard, whom the king had put in charge of the order to execute all the wise men of Babylon. Wisely and tactfully
Danieli anayankhula mwanzeru ndi mwaulemu kwa Ariyoki, mkulu wa asilikali olondera mfumu amene anatumidwa kukapha anthu anzeru a ku Babuloni.
15 Daniel asked him, “Why would the king issue such a harsh decree?” So Arioch explained to Daniel what had happened.
Danieli anafunsa Ariyoki kapitawo wa mfumu kuti, “Chifukwa chiyani mfumu yapereka lamulo lankhanza lotere?” Kenaka Ariyoki anafotokoza nkhaniyi kwa Danieli.
16 Daniel immediately went to see the king and asked for more time to explain the dream and its meaning to him.
Danieli anapita mofulumira kwa mfumu ndipo anamupempha kuti amupatse nthawi kuti amuwuze zimene walota ndi tanthauzo lake.
17 Then Daniel went home and shared with Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah what was going on.
Kenaka Danieli anabwerera ku nyumba kwake ndi kukafotokozera anzake aja zimenezi: Hananiya, Misaeli ndi Azariya.
18 He told them to pray to the God of heaven, asking for help regarding this mystery, so that he and his friends would not be killed along with the rest of the wise men of Babylon.
Danieli anadandaulira anzake kuti apemphe kwa Mulungu wakumwamba kuti awachitire chifundo ndi kumuwululira chinsinsi, kuti iye ndi anzakewo asanyongedwe pamodzi ndi anzeru ena onse a ku Babuloni.
19 That night the mystery was revealed to Daniel in a vision. Then Daniel praised the God of heaven:
Usiku Yehova anamuwululira Danieli chinsinsi chija mʼmasomphenya. Pamenepo Danieli anatamanda Mulungu wakumwamba,
20 “Praise the wonderful nature of God forever and ever, for he is wise and powerful.
ndipo anati: “Litamandike dzina la Mulungu ku nthawi za nthawi; nzeru ndi mphamvu zonse ndi zake.
21 He is in charge of time and history. He removes kings, and he sets kings in place. He gives wisdom to make people wise; he gives knowledge to people so they can understand.
Amasintha nthawi ndi nyengo; amakweza mafumu ndipo amawatsitsanso. Amapatsa nzeru kwa anzeru ndi chidziwitso kwa ozindikira zinthu.
22 He reveals deep, mysterious things. He knows what lies in darkness, and light lives in his presence.
Amavumbulutsa zinthu zozama ndi zobisika; amadziwa zimene zili mu mdima, ndipo kuwunika kumakhala ndi Iye.
23 I give thanks and praise to you, God of my fathers, for you have given me wisdom and power. Now you have revealed to me what we asked you; you have revealed to us the king's dream.”
Ndikuyamika ndi kutamanda Inu Mulungu wa makolo anga: mwandipatsa nzeru ndi mphamvu, mwandiwululira zomwe tinakupemphani, mwatiwululira maloto a mfumu.”
24 So Daniel went to Arioch whom the king had ordered to execute the wise men of Babylon and told him, “Don't execute the wise men of Babylon! Take me to see the king and I will explain to him his dream.”
Motero Danieli anapita kwa Ariyoki, amene mfumu inamusankha kuti akaphe anthu anzeru a ku Babuloni, ndipo anati kwa iye, “Musaphe anthu anzeru a ku Babuloni. Ndiperekezeni kwa mfumu, ndipo ndidzayimasulira maloto ake.”
25 Arioch immediately took Daniel to the king and told him, “I've found one of the captives from Judah who can tell Your Majesty what your dream means.”
Ariyoki anapita naye Danieli kwa mfumu nthawi yomweyo ndipo anati, “Ndapeza munthu pakati pa akapolo ochokera ku Yuda amene akhoza kuwuza mfumu zimene maloto ake akutanthauza.”
26 The king asked Daniel (also called Belteshazzar), “Are you really able to tell me what my dream was, and what it means?”
Mfumu inafunsa Danieli (wotchedwanso Belitesezara) kuti, “Kodi ukhoza kundiwuza zomwe ine ndinaona mʼmaloto anga ndi tanthauzo lake?”
27 “No wise men or enchanters or magicians or diviners can explain the mystery Your Majesty wants to know,” Daniel replied.
Danieli anayankha kuti, “Palibe munthu wanzeru, wowombeza, wamatsenga kapena wamawula amene akhoza kufotokozera mfumu chinsinsi chimene mwafuna kudziwa,
28 “But there is a God in heaven who reveals mysteries, and he has revealed to King Nebuchadnezzar what will happen in the last days. Your dream and the visions that came to your mind as you were lying in bed were these.
koma kuli Mulungu kumwamba amene amawulula zinsinsi. Iye waonetsera mfumu Nebukadinezara zimene zidzachitika mʼmasiku akutsogolo. Maloto ndi masomphenya anu amene munawaona mukugona pa bedi lanu ndi awa:
29 As Your Majesty lay there, your thoughts turned to the future, and the revealer of mysteries showed you what would take place.
“Mukugona pa bedi, inu Mfumu, maganizo anakufikirani a zinthu zakutsogolo, ndipo Yehova wowulula zinsinsi anakuonetserani zimene zidzachitika.
30 It's not because I have any more wisdom than anyone else that this mystery has been revealed to me, but to explain to Your Majesty what you were thinking about so you could understand.
Koma chinsinsi ichi chavumbulutsidwa kwa ine, si chifukwa chakuti ndili ndi nzeru zochuluka kuposa anthu ena onse, koma kuti mfumu mudziwe tanthauzo la maloto anu ndi kuti muzindikire maganizo amene anali mu mtima mwanu.
31 Your Majesty, as you looked, there before you stood a great statue. The statue standing in front of you was huge, and blazingly bright. It looked terrifying!
“Inu mfumu, munaona chinthu chowumba chachikulu chimene chinayima pamaso panu. Chowumbachi chinali chonyezimira mʼmaonekedwe.
32 The head of the statue was gold, the chest and arms were silver, its middle and thighs were bronze,
Mutu wa chowumbacho unali wagolide wabwino kwambiri. Chifuwa ndi manja ake zinali zasiliva. Mimba ndi ntchafu zake zinali zamkuwa.
33 its legs were iron, and its feet were iron and baked clay.
Miyendo yake inali yachitsulo, mapazi ake anali achitsulo chosakaniza ndi dongo.
34 While you were watching, a stone was quarried, but not by human hands. It struck the iron and clay feet of the statue and smashed them to pieces.
Inu mukuona, mwala unagamuka, koma osati ndi manja a munthu. Unagwera fanolo pa mapazi ake achitsulo chosakaniza ndi dongo aja ndi kuwaphwanya.
35 Then the rest of the statue—the bronze, the silver, and the gold—broke into pieces like the iron and clay. The wind blew them all away like chaff from the summer threshing floor, so that no trace of them could be found. But the stone that struck the statue became a great mountain and filled the whole earth.
Tsono chitsulo, dongo, mkuwa, siliva ndi golide zonse zinaphwanyika pamodzi ndikukhala tizidutswa towuluka ndi mphepo ngati mungu wa mowombera tirigu nthawi ya chilimwe. Zonse zinawuluka ndi mphepo osasiyako chilichonse. Koma mwala umene unagwera pa chowumba chija unasanduka phiri lalikulu ndi kudzaza dziko lonse lapansi.
36 This was the dream, and now we will explain what it means to the king.
“Maloto aja ndi amenewa; tidzafotokoza tanthauzo lake kwa mfumu.
37 Your Majesty, you are the king of kings to whom the God of heaven has given the kingdom, and power, strength, and glory.
Inu mfumu, ndinu mfumu ya mafumu. Mulungu wakumwamba wakupatsani ufumu, ulamuliro ndi mphamvu ndi ulemerero;
38 He gave you control over all peoples, as well as the wild animals and birds. He made you ruler of all of them. You are the head of gold.
Iye anayika mʼmanja mwanu anthu ndi nyama zakuthengo ndi mbalame zamlengalenga. Kulikonse kumene zikhala, iye anakuyikani wolamulira wa zonse. Inu ndinu mutu wagolidewo.
39 But after you another kingdom will rise that is inferior to your kingdom and will replace yours. After that a third kingdom that is bronze will rise and rule over the whole world.
“Pambuyo pa inu, ufumu wina udzadzuka, wochepa mphamvu poyerekeza ndi wanuwu. Padzabweranso ufumu wachitatu, wamkuwa, udzalamulira dziko lonse lapansi.
40 The fourth kingdom will be strong as iron and in the same way that iron crushes and smashes everything; it will crush and smash all others.
Pomaliza, padzakhala ufumu wachinayi, wolimba ngati chitsulo popeza chitsulo chimaphwanya ndi kutikita chilichonse. Ndipo monga chitsulo chimaphwanya zinthu ndikuteketeratu, choncho udzawononga ndi kuphwanya maufumu ena onse.
41 You saw the feet and toes made from iron and baked clay, and this indicates it will be a divided kingdom. It will have some of the strength of iron but mixed with clay.
Ndipo monga munaonera kuti mapazi ndi zala zake zinali za chitsulo chosakaniza ndi dongo, choncho uwu udzakhala ufumu wogawikana; komabe udzakhala ndi mphamvu zina zachitsulo zotikita.
42 As the toes were partly iron and partly clay, the kingdom will be partly strong and partly brittle.
Monga zala zinali za chitsulo chosakaniza ndi dongo, choncho ufumu uwu udzakhala pangʼono wolimba ndi pangʼono wofowoka.
43 In the same way that you saw the iron mixed with ordinary clay, so the people will mix but they will not stick together just as iron and clay do not mix.
Ndipo monga munaona chitsulo chosakanizidwa ndi dongo, choncho anthu adzakhala wosakanizana ndipo sadzagwirizana, monga muja chitsulo sichingasakanizike ndi dongo.
44 During the time of these kings the God of heaven will set up an eternal kingdom that will never be destroyed or taken over by others. It will crush all these kingdoms, bringing them to an end, and it will last forever,
“Pa nthawi ya mafumu amenewo, Mulungu wakumwamba adzakhazikitsa ufumu umene sudzawonongedwa, kapenanso kuperekedwa kwa anthu ena. Udzawononga maufumu onse aja ndi kuwatheratu, koma iwo wokha udzakhalapobe mpaka muyaya.
45 in the same way that you saw the stone quarried from the mountain, but not by human hands, crush the iron, bronze, clay, silver, and gold. The great God has revealed to Your Majesty what is to come. The dream is true, and the explanation is trustworthy.”
Limeneli ndilo tanthauzo la masomphenya a mwala umene unagamuka pa phiri, koma osati ndi manja a anthu; mwala umene unaphwanya chitsulo, mkuwa, dongo, siliva ndi golide mʼtizidutswa. “Mulungu wamkulu wakuonetsani mfumu chimene chidzachitika kutsogolo. Malotowo ndi woona ndipo tanthauzo lake ndi lodalirika.”
46 Then King Nebuchadnezzar fell down before Daniel and worshiped him, and ordered offerings of grain and incense to be made to him.
Pamenepo mfumu Nebukadinezara inadzigwetsa chafufumimba pamaso pa Danieli ndi kumupatsa ulemu. Ndipo inalamula kuti anthu onse amuthirire Danieli nsembe ndi kumufukizira lubani.
47 The king said to Daniel, “Truly, your God is the God of gods, the Lord of kings, the revealer of mysteries, for you have been able to reveal this mystery.”
Mfumu inati kwa Danieli, “Zoonadi, Mulungu wako ndi Mulungu wa milungu ndi Ambuye wa mafumu ndi wowulula zinsinsi, pakuti iwe wathadi kuwulula chinsinsi ichi.”
48 Then the king promoted Daniel to a high position and gave him many expensive gifts, making him governor over the whole province of Babylon and head of all the wise men of Babylon.
Ndipo mfumu inamukweza Danieli ndi kumupatsa mphatso zambiri. Anamuyika kuti akhale wolamulira chigawo chonse cha Babuloni ndi kutinso akhale woyangʼanira anthu ake onse anzeru.
49 At Daniel's request, the king placed Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego in charge of the province of Babylon, and Daniel remained at the king's court.
Komanso, monga mwa pempho la Danieli, mfumu inayika Sadirake, Mesaki ndi Abedenego, kuti akhale oyangʼanira chigawo cha Babuloni, pamene Danieliyo ankakhazikika mʼbwalo la mfumu.
