1 Samuel 22
1 David escaped and went to the cave of Adullam. When they heard where he was his brothers and all the rest of his family went and joined him there.
Und David ging von dannen und entrann in die Höhle Adullam. Und als seine Brüder und das ganze Haus seines Vaters es hörten, kamen sie dorthin zu ihm hinab.
2 Everyone who was in trouble or in debt or resentful also came to him and he became their leader. He had around four hundred men with him.
Und es versammelten sich zu ihm jeder Bedrängte, und jeder, der einen Gläubiger hatte, und jeder, der erbitterten Gemütes war, und er wurde ihr Oberster, und es waren bei ihm an vierhundert Mann.
3 Then David went to Mizpeh in the country of Moab. He asked the king of Moab, “Please let my father and mother come and stay with you until I find out what God is planning for me.”
Und David ging von dannen nach Mizpe-Moab; und er sprach zu dem König von Moab: Laß doch meinen Vater und meine Mutter ausziehen und bei euch sein, bis ich weiß, was Gott mir tun wird.
4 So he left them with the king of Moab, and they stayed with the king all the time David lived in the stronghold.
Und er führte sie vor den König von Moab, und sie wohnten bei ihm alle Tage, die David auf der Bergfeste war.
5 But then the prophet Gad told David, “Do not stay in the stronghold. Go back to the land of Judah.” So David left and went to the forest of Hereth.
Und Gad, der Prophet, sprach zu David: Bleibe nicht auf der Bergfeste; gehe hin und begib dich in das Land Juda. Und David ging hin und kam in den Wald Hereth.
6 Saul found out that David had returned and where he was. Saul was sitting under the tamarisk tree on the hill in Gibeah. He had his spear in his hand, with all his officials surrounding him.
Und als Saul hörte, daß David und die Männer, die bei ihm waren, entdeckt worden seien, -Saul aber saß zu Gibea, unter der Tamariske auf der Anhöhe, mit seinem Speer in der Hand, und alle seine Knechte standen bei ihm, -
7 Saul said to them, “Listen to me, you men of Benjamin! Is the son of Jesse going to give all of you fields and vineyards and make you commanders and officers in the army?
da sprach Saul zu seinen Knechten, die bei ihm standen: Höret doch, ihr Benjaminiter! Wird auch der Sohn Isais euch allen Felder und Weinberge geben, euch alle zu Obersten über tausend und zu Obersten über hundert machen,
8 Is that why you've all plotted against me? Not a single one of you told me that my own son had made an agreement with Jesse's son. Not a single one of you has shown you cared about me, or explained to me that my son has encouraged him to try and kill me, which is what he's doing right now!”
daß ihr euch alle wider mich verschworen habt, und keiner es meinem Ohr eröffnet, wenn mein Sohn einen Bund mit dem Sohne Isais gemacht hat, und keiner von euch sich kränkt meinethalben und es meinem Ohr eröffnet, daß mein Sohn meinen Knecht als Laurer wider mich aufgewiegelt hat, wie es an diesem Tage ist?
9 Doeg the Edomite, who was standing there with Saul's officers, spoke up, saying, “I saw the son of Jesse visit Ahimelech, son of Ahitub, at Nob.
Da antwortete Doeg, der Edomiter, der bei den Knechten Sauls stand, [O. über die Knechte Sauls gesetzt war] und sprach: Ich sah den Sohn Isais nach Nob kommen zu Ahimelech, dem Sohne Ahitubs.
10 Ahimelech asked advice from the Lord for him and gave him food. He gave him the sword of Goliath the Philistine as well.”
Und er befragte Jehova für ihn und gab ihm Zehrung, und das Schwert Goliaths, des Philisters, gab er ihm.
11 The king sent a message to summon Ahimelech the priest, son of Ahitub, and all his family, who were priests at Nob. They all came to the king.
Da sandte der König hin, Ahimelech, den Sohn Ahitubs, den Priester, zu rufen, sowie das ganze Haus seines Vaters, die Priester, die zu Nob waren; und sie kamen alle zum König.
12 “Now you listen, son of Ahitub,” the king shouted. “What is it, my lord?” Ahimelech asked.
Und Saul sprach: Höre doch, Sohn Ahitubs! Und er sprach: Hier bin ich, mein Herr!
13 “Why have you and the son of Jesse plotted against me? You gave him bread and a sword, and asked advice from God for him so that he could rebel against me and try and kill me, which is what he's doing right now!”
Und Saul sprach zu ihm: Warum habt ihr euch wider mich verschworen, du und der Sohn Isais, indem du ihm Brot und ein Schwert gegeben und Gott für ihn befragt hast, damit er als Laurer wider mich aufstehe, wie es an diesem Tage ist?
14 “Who of all your officers is as trustworthy as David, the king's son-in-law? He is in charge of your bodyguard, and highly respected in your family!” Ahimelech responded.
Und Ahimelech antwortete dem König und sprach: Und wer unter all deinen Knechten ist wie David, treu, und des Königs Eidam, und der Zutritt hat zu deinem geheimen Rat und geehrt ist in deinem Hause?
15 “And was that day the first time he asked advice from God on his behalf? Of course not! The king should not accuse me your servant or any of my family, for I didn't know anything about any of this.”
Habe ich heute angefangen, Gott für ihn zu befragen? Das sei ferne von mir! Nicht lege der König seinem Knechte etwas zur Last, noch dem ganzen Hause meines Vaters; denn dein Knecht hat von allem diesem nichts gewußt, weder Kleines noch Großes.
16 “You're going to die for this!” the king declared. “You and all your family!”
Aber der König sprach: Du mußt gewißlich sterben Ahimelech, du und das ganze Haus deines Vaters!
17 Then the king turned to his bodyguards standing there and ordered them, “Kill these priests of the Lord, because they're on David's side! They knew he was a fugitive and yet they didn't tell me!” But the king's guards refused to attack the priests of the Lord.
Und der König sprach zu den Läufern, die bei ihm standen: Wendet euch und tötet die Priester Jehovas, weil auch ihre Hand mit David ist, und weil sie wußten, daß er floh und es meinem Ohre nicht eröffnet haben. Aber die Knechte des Königs wollten ihre Hand nicht ausstrecken, um über die Priester Jehovas herzufallen.
18 So the king ordered Doeg, “You kill the priests!” Doeg the Edomite attacked and killed the priests, killing eighty-five men wearing the priestly ephod.
Da sprach der König zu Doeg: Wende du dich und falle über die Priester her! Und Doeg, der Edomiter, wandte sich und fiel über die Priester her, und er tötete an selbigem Tage 85 Mann, die das leinene Ephod trugen.
19 Then he went to Nob, the town of the priests, and slaughtered its men and women, children and infants, cattle, donkeys, and sheep.
Und Nob, die Stadt der Priester, schlug er mit der Schärfe des Schwertes, vom Manne bis zum Weibe, vom Kinde bis zum Säugling, und Rind und Esel und Kleinvieh, mit der Schärfe des Schwertes.
20 But one of the sons of Ahimelech, son of Ahitub, managed to escape. His name was Abiathar, and he ran away and joined David.
Und es entrann ein Sohn Ahimelechs, des Sohnes Ahitubs, sein Name war Abjathar; und er entfloh, David nach.
21 He told David that Saul had killed the priests of the Lord.
Und Abjathar berichtete David, daß Saul die Priester Jehovas ermordet hätte.
22 David told Abiathar, “I knew that day when Doeg the Edomite was there that he was going to tell Saul about it. It's my fault that all your family have died.
Da sprach David zu Abjathar: Ich wußte an jenem Tage, weil Doeg, der Edomiter, daselbst war, daß er es Saul sicher berichten würde. Ich bin schuldig an allen Seelen des Hauses deines Vaters.
23 But you can stay with me and you don't need to be afraid, because the man who wants to kill you wants to kill me too. I'll take good care of you.”
Bleibe bei mir, fürchte dich nicht; denn wer nach meiner Seele trachtet, trachtet nach deiner Seele; denn bei mir bist du wohlbewahrt.
