< John 13 >

1 Now before the Feast of the Passover, Jesus, knowing that His hour had come that He should depart from this world to the Father, having loved His own who were in the world He loved them to the end.
MON kamadip en pasa Iesus lao kotin mangier, me ansaun a pan kotila sang sappa, kotila ren Sam a korendor, duen a kotin kupuramauki sapwilim a kan, me mi sappa, iduen a kotin kupura irail lel imwi,
2 And after supper (the devil already having put it into the heart of Judas Iscariot, Simon's son, to betray Him),
Ni ar kotin kasipong ansau me tewil ki ong er nan mongiong en Iudas Iskariot nain Simon, en pangala i.
3 Jesus, knowing that the Father had given everything into His hands, and that He had come from God and was going to God,
Iesus lao kotin mangier, me Sam kotiki onger ni lim a kan meakaros, o me a kotido sang ren Kot, o me a pan kotila ren Kot,
4 He gets up from the meal and lays aside His garments, and taking a towel He tied it around Himself.
Ap kotida sang ni kasipong, kotikidi sapwilim a likau en liki ap ale dauel eu pirakidi pein i,
5 Then He poured water into the basin and began to wash the disciples' feet and to dry them with the towel with which He was wrapped.
A wutoki pil nan dal, ap pikikidi widen nä en sapwilim a tounpadak kan, o limwieki dauel, me a piraki pena.
6 So He comes to Simon Peter, and he says to Him, “Lord, you wash my feet?!”
A lao kotin lel Simon Petrus, a ap potoan ong i: Maing, re pan kotin widen nä i kat?
7 Jesus answered and said to him, “What I am doing you do not understand now, but you will know [by experience] after this.”
Iesus kotin sapeng masani ong i: Koe kin sasa, me I wia metet, a mur koe pan asala.
8 Peter says to Him, “You will never ever wash my feet!” Jesus answered him, “If I do not wash you, you have no part with me.” (aiōn g165)
Petrus potoan ong i: Re sota pan kotin widen nä i kat kokolata. Iesus kotin sapeng i: Ma I sota widen uk, nan sota pwais om re i. (aiōn g165)
9 Simon Peter says to Him, “Lord, not only my feet, but also my hands and my head!”
Simon Petrus ap potoan ong i: Maing, kaidin nä eta, a pil pa o mong ai!
10 Jesus says to him: “One who is bathed has no need except to wash his feet, but is clean all over. And you (pl) are clean, but not all of you.”
Iesus kotin masani ong i: Me duduer, solar mau ong omiom o opinok, pwe a makelekeler, a nä eta, me pan wideut; komail me makelekel, a kaidin karos.
11 (He knew who was betraying Him; that is why He said, “Not all of you are clean.”)
Pwe a kotin mangi, me pan pangala i; i me a kotin masanieki: Kaidin komail karos me makelelkel.
12 So when Jesus had washed their feet and put His garments back on, He reclined again and said to them: “Do you know what I have done to you?
A lao kotin widener nä ar akan, a kotin pur ong sapwilim a likau en liki. A pil kaipokedi ni tepel masani ong irail: Komail asaer me I wiai ong komail er?
13 You address me as ‘Teacher’ and ‘Lord’, and you speak correctly, because I am.
Komail kin adane kin ia Saunpadak o Kaun, ari me pung, pwe iei ngai.
14 So then, if I, Lord and Teacher, washed your feet, you also ought to wash one another's feet.
Ari, ma ngai, Kaun o Saunpadak widen nä omail, komail ari pil widen nä omail pena.
15 Because I have given you an example, so that you also should do just as I did to you.
Pwe I ki ong komail er sansal mau eu, pwe komail en kaalemongi ia, o wia, duen I wiai ong komail.
16 “Most assuredly I say to you, a slave is not greater than his owner, neither is a messenger greater than the one who sent him.
Melel, melel I indai ong komail, ladu me sota laude sang a saumas, de me pakadarado me sota laude sang me kadarado i.
17 If you understand these things, you are blessed if you do them.
Ma komail asa mepukat, komail meid pai, ma komail wiada.
18 “I do not speak concerning all of you—I know whom I chose. But let the Scripture be fulfilled: ‘The one eating bread with me lifted up his heel against me.’
Kaidin komail karos, me I indinda. I asa, me I piladar. A pwe kisin likau en pwaida: Me iang ia kangkang prot, kin tiaki ia di.
19 I am telling you now before it happens, so that when it does happen you will believe that I am.
Ansau wet I indai ong komail mepukat mon a pan wiaui, pwe a lao wiaui, komail en poson, me ngai i.
20 Most assuredly I say to you, he who receives whomever I send receives me, and he who receives me receives Him who sent me.”
Melel, melel I indai ong komail, meamen me kasamo, me I kadar wei, kin kasamo ia, a me kin kasamo ia, kin kasamo, me kadar ia do.
21 Having said these things, Jesus was distressed in His spirit and testified saying, “Most assuredly I say to you, one of you will betray me!”
Iesus lao kotin masani wei mepukat, ap kupurola kadede masani: Melel, melel I indai ong komail, amen komail pan pang ia la.
22 So the disciples started looking at each other, at a loss as to whom He meant.
Sapwilim a tounpadak kan ap soupei pena o sasa, is i, me a kotin masanieki.
23 Now one of His disciples, whom Jesus loved, was reclining beside Jesus' bosom.
A amen sapwilim a tounpadak kan, me Iesus kotin kupura mauki, momod ni tepel impan Iesus.
24 So Simon Peter motions to him to inquire whom it might be that He was referring to.
Simon Petrus ap olol ong i, en idok, is i me a kotin masani.
25 And leaning back against Jesus' breast he says to Him, “Lord, who is it?”
I ap kai ong pan kupur en Iesus potoan ong i: Maing, is i?
26 Jesus answers, “It is the one to whom I will give the piece of dunked bread.” And dunking the bread He gives it to Judas Iscariot, Simon's son.
Iesus kotin sapeng: Iei i, me I pan ki ong kisin prot i lao kaduedier nan dal o. A lao kotin kaduedier kisin prot o, a kotiki ong Iudas Iskariot nain Simon.
27 And after the sop, then Satan entered into him. Whereupon Jesus says to him, “What you are doing, do quickly!”
A lao tungole kisin prot o, Satan ap tilong lole. Iesus ap kotin masani ong i: Wiada madang, me koe pan wiada!
28 (Now none of those reclining at the table knew why He said this to him.
A sota, ren me momod ni tepel, asa, da me a kotin masanieki ong i met.
29 Since Judas had the money box, some supposed that Jesus was telling him to buy what they needed for the feast, or to give something to the poor.)
Pwe akai kiki ong, me Iesus kotin masani ong i: Netie dong kitail kapwa en kamadip o, de a en ki ong me samama ko meakot, pwe a kin wewa ed en moni.
30 So having received the sop, immediately he went out. And it was night.
A lao tungoler kisin prot, ap madang pedoi wei, a wasa pongier.
31 When he had gone out Jesus says: “Now the Son of the Man has been glorified, and God has been glorified in Him.
A lao pedoi sanger, Iesus ap kotin masani: Nain aramas ari linganlar, o Kot me lingana kilar i.
32 Since God has been glorified in Him, God will also glorify Him with Himself, and He will do so presently.
Ma Kot lingan kilar i, Kot ap pan pil kalinganaki pein i. A pan madang kalinganada i.
33 “Little children, I am with you just a little longer. You will look for me, and as I said to the Jews, ‘Where I am going you cannot come,’ so now I say to you.
Seri ko, I pan ieiang komail ansau kis, komail pan rapa kin ia, a duen I indai ong Sus akan: Wasa me I pan kola ia, komail sota pan kak ong. Iei duen I pil indai ong komail ansau wet.
34 “I give you a new commandment, that you love one another just as I have loved you—that you also love one another.
I ki ong komail kusoned kap eu, pwe komail en poke pena, duen I pok ong komail er, iei duen komail en poke pena!
35 By this all will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.”
Pwe i me karos pan asaki, me komail ai tounpadak kan, ma komail limpok pena.
36 Simon Peter says to Him, “Lord, where are you going?” Jesus answered him, “Where I am going you cannot follow me now, but later you will follow me.”
Simon Petrus potoan ong i: Maing, re pan kotila ia? Iesus kotin sapeng i: Wasa me I pan kola ia, koe sota kak idauen ia ansau wet, a koe pan idauen ia eu ran.
37 Peter says to Him: “Lord, why can't I follow you now? I will lay down my life for your sake!”
Petrus potoan ong i: Maing, da me i so kak idauen ir ki met? I pan kasela maur i pweki komui.
38 Jesus answered him: “You will lay down your life for my sake? Most assuredly I say to you, no rooster can crow until you have denied me three times!
Iesus kotin masani ong i: Koe pan kasela maur om pweki ngai? Melel, melel I indai ong uk, mon malek pan kakorot, koe pan kamam kin ia pan me sili pak.
