Isaiah 9
1 At the first time the land of Zabulon, and the land of Nephtali was lightly touched: and at the last the way of the sea beyond the Jordan of the Galilee of the Gentiles was heavily loaded.
ஆயினும் முன்பு துயரப்பட்டவர்களுக்கு இனிமேல் பயங்கரம் இராது. முந்தின நாட்களில் செபுலோன் நாட்டையும், நப்தலி நாட்டையும் அவர் தாழ்த்தினார். ஆனால், வருங்காலத்திலே மத்திய தரைக்கடலிலிருந்து, யோர்தான் அருகேயுள்ள, பிறநாட்டினர் வாழும் கலிலேயாவை மேன்மைப்படுத்துவார்.
2 The people that walked in darkness, have seen a great light: to them that dwelt in the region of the shadow of death, light is risen.
இருளில் நடக்கும் மக்கள் ஒரு பேரொளியைக் கண்டார்கள்; மரண இருள்சூழ்ந்த நாட்டில் வாழ்வோர்மேல் வெளிச்சம் பிரகாசித்தது.
3 Thou hast multiplied the nation, and hast not increased the joy. They shall rejoice before thee, as they that rejoice in the harvest, as conquerors rejoice after taking a prey, when they divide the spoils.
நீர் நாட்டைப் பெருகச்செய்து அவர்களுக்கு மகிழ்ச்சியையும் அதிகமாய் கொடுத்திருக்கிறீர். அறுவடையின்போது மக்கள் மகிழ்வதைப்போல, அவர்கள் உமது முன்னிலையில் மகிழ்கிறார்கள். கொள்ளையைப் பங்கிடும்போதும் மனிதர் மகிழ்வதுபோல, அவர்கள் மகிழ்கிறார்கள்.
4 For the yoke of their burden, and the rod of their shoulder, and the sceptre of their oppressor thou best overcome, as in the day of Median.
மீதியானியர் தோற்கடிக்கப்பட்ட நாளில் செய்ததுபோல, நீர் அவர்களுக்குப் பாரமாயிருந்த நுகத்தை உடைத்துப்போட்டீர். அவர்களுடைய தோள்களின் அழுத்திய பாரத்தையும், அவர்களை ஒடுக்குவோரின் கொடுங்கோலையும் அகற்றிப்போட்டீர்.
5 For every violent taking of spoils, with tumult, and garment mingled with blood, shall be burnt, and be fuel for the fire.
ஒவ்வொரு வீரரும் போரில் பயன்படுத்திய காலணியும், இரத்தத்தில் தோய்ந்த உடைகள் அனைத்தும் நெருப்புக்கு இரையாக சுட்டெரிக்கப்படும்.
6 For a CHILD IS BORN to us, and a son is given to us, and the government is upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called, Wonderful, Counsellor, God the Mighty, the Father of the world to come, the Prince of Peace.
ஏனெனில், “நமக்காக ஒரு குழந்தை பிறந்துள்ளார், நமக்கு ஒரு மகன் கொடுக்கப்பட்டார், அரசாட்சி அவர் தோளின்மேல் இருக்கும். அவர் அதிசயமான ஆலோசகர், வல்லமையுள்ள இறைவன், நித்திய தகப்பன், சமாதானப்பிரபு” என அழைக்கப்படுவார்.
7 His empire shall be multiplied, and there shall be no end of peace: he shall sit upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom; to establish it and strengthen it with judgment and with justice, from henceforth and for ever: the zeal of the Lord of hosts will perform this.
அவருடைய ஆட்சியின் பெருக்கத்திற்கும் சமாதானத்திற்கும் முடிவே இராது. அவர் தாவீதின் சிங்காசனத்தையும் அவனது அரசையும் நிலைநாட்டுவார். இதுமுதற்கொண்டு அதை என்றென்றைக்கும் நீதியோடும் நேர்மையோடும் நிலைநிறுத்தி உறுதிப்படுத்துவார். எல்லாம் வல்ல யெகோவாவினுடைய வைராக்கியம் இதை நிறைவேற்றும்.
8 The Lord sent a word into Jacob, and it hath lighted upon Israel.
யெகோவா யாக்கோபுக்கு விரோதமாக ஒரு செய்தியை அனுப்பியிருக்கிறார்; அது இஸ்ரயேல்மேல் வரும்.
9 And all the people of Ephraim shall know, and the inhabitants of Samaria that say in the pride and haughtiness of their heart:
எப்பிராயீமியரும், சமாரியாவில் குடியிருப்பவர்களுமான எல்லா மக்களும், அதை அறிவார்கள். அவர்கள் இருதய இறுமாப்புடனும் பெருமையுடனும்,
10 The bricks are fallen down, but we will build with square stones: they have cut down the sycamores, but we will change them for cedars.
“செங்கற்கட்டிடங்கள் இடிந்து விழுந்தன, ஆனாலும் திரும்பவும் நாம் நமது கட்டிடங்களை செதுக்கிய கற்களால் கட்டுவோம். அத்திமரங்கள் வீழ்த்தப்பட்டன, ஆனால் நாங்கள் அவைகளுக்குப் பதிலாக, கேதுரு மரங்களை நடுவோம்” என்று சொல்கிறார்கள்.
11 And the Lord shall set up the enemies of Rasin over him, and shall bring on his enemies in a crowd:
ஆனால் யெகோவா ரேத்சீனின் பகைவர்களை அவர்களுக்கு விரோதமாகப் பலப்படுத்தி, அவர்களுடைய எதிரிகளைத் தூண்டிவிடுவார்.
12 The Syrians from the east, and the Philistines from the west: and they shall devour Israel with open mouth, For all this his indignation is not turned away, but his hand is stretched out still.
கிழக்கிலிருந்து சீரியரும் மேற்கிலிருந்து பெலிஸ்தியரும், இஸ்ரயேலரை திறந்த வாயால் விழுங்கியிருக்கிறார்கள். இவையெல்லாம் நடந்தும், அவரது கோபம் தீராமல், அவரது கரம் இன்னும் ஓங்கியபடியே இருக்கிறது.
13 And the people are not returned to him who hath struck them, and have not sought after the Lord of hosts.
எனினும் அந்த மக்கள் தங்களைத் தண்டித்த இறைவனாகிய யெகோவாவிடம் திரும்பவில்லை. எல்லாம் வல்ல யெகோவாவைத் தேடவுமில்லை.
14 And the Lord shall destroy out of Israel the head and the tail, him that bendeth down, and him that holdeth back, in one day.
ஆகையால் யெகோவா இஸ்ரயேலின் தலையையும், வாலையும் ஓலையையும், நாணலையும் ஒரே நாளில் வெட்டிப்போடுவார்.
15 The aged and honourable, he is the head: and the prophet that teacheth lies, he is the tail.
முதியோரும் பிரபலமானோருமே தலை, பொய்யைப் போதிக்கும் இறைவாக்கினரே வால்.
16 And they that call this people blessed, shall cause them to err: and they that are called blessed, shall be thrown down headlong.
இந்த மக்களை வழிநடத்துகிறவர்கள் அவர்களை நெறிதவறச் செய்தார்கள்; வழிநடத்தப்பட்டவர்கள் அழிந்துபோனார்கள்.
17 Therefore the Lord shell have no joy in their young men: neither shall he have mercy on their fatherless, and widows: for every one is a hypocrite and wicked, and every mouth hath spoken folly. For all this his indignation is not turned away, but his bend is stretched out still.
ஆகையால் யெகோவா வாலிபர்களில் மகிழ்வதில்லை, அநாதைகள் மேலும், விதவைகள்மேலும் இரக்கம்கொள்ளவும் இல்லை. ஏனெனில் அவர்கள் எல்லோரும் இறைப்பற்று இல்லாதவர்களும் பொல்லாதவர்களுமாய் இருக்கிறார்கள். எல்லோருடைய வாயும் மதிகேட்டைப் பேசுகின்றது. இவையெல்லாம் நடந்தும், அவரது கோபம் தீராமல், அவரது கரம் இன்னும் ஓங்கியபடியே இருக்கிறது.
18 For wickedness is kindled as a fire, it shall devour the brier and the thorn: and shall kindle in the thicket of the forest, and it shall be wrapped up in smoke ascending on high.
மெய்யாகவே, கொடுமை நெருப்பைப்போல் எரிகிறது; அது முட்செடியையும், நெருஞ்சில் செடியையும் தீய்த்து விடுகிறது. அது அடர்த்தியான புதர்களையும் கொழுத்தி விடுகிறது, அதன் புகை சுருள் சுருளாக மேலே எழும்புகிறது.
19 By the wrath of the Lord of hosts the land is troubled, and the people shall be as fuel for the fire: no man shall spare his brother.
எல்லாம் வல்ல யெகோவாவின் கோபத்தினால் நாடு நெருப்புக்கு இறையாகும்; மக்களும் நெருப்புக்கான எரிபொருளாவார்கள், ஒருவனுமே தன் சகோதரனைத் தப்பவிடமாட்டான்.
20 And he shall turn to the right hand, and shall be hungry: and shall eat on the left hand, and shall not be filled: every one shell eat the flesh of his own arm: Manasses Ephraim, and Ephraim Manasses, and they together shall be against Juda.
அவர்கள் வலப்புறத்தில் பறித்துத் தின்றும், பசியோடு இருப்பார்கள். இடது புறத்தில் சாப்பிட்டும், திருப்தி அடையாதிருப்பார்கள். ஒவ்வொருவனும் தன் சொந்த கரத்தின் மாமிசத்தையுங்கூடத் தின்பான்:
21 After all these things his indignation is not turned away, but his hand is stretched out still.
மனாசே எப்பிராயீமையும், எப்பிராயீம் மனாசேயையும் தின்பார்கள்; இருவரும் ஒன்றுசேர்ந்து யூதாவை எதிர்ப்பார்கள். இவையெல்லாம் நடந்தும் அவரது கோபம் தீராமல், அவரது கரம் இன்னும் ஓங்கியபடியே இருக்கிறது.
