< Job 21 >
1 And Job answered and said,
Mgbe ahụ, Job zara sị:
2 Hear attentively my speech, and let this replace your consolations.
“Gee ntị nke ọma nʼokwu m; ka nke a bụrụ nkasiobi ị ga-enye m.
3 Suffer me and I will speak; and after I have spoken, mock on!
Nwee ndidi ka m kwuchaa okwu m, mgbe m kwuchara, gaa nʼihu ịkwa m emo.
4 As for me, is my complaint to a man? or wherefore should not my spirit be impatient?
“Ọ bụ mmadụ ka m na-ekpesara? Gịnị ka m ga-eji ghara ịbụ onye na-enweghị ndidi?
5 Mark me, and be astonished, and lay the hand upon the mouth.
Lee m anya ka ahụ maa gị jijiji; were aka gị kpuchie ọnụ gị.
6 Even when I think [thereon], I am affrighted, and trembling taketh hold of my flesh.
Mgbe m chere echiche maka nke a, egwu tụrụ m meekwa ka ahụ m maa jijiji.
7 Wherefore do the wicked live, grow old, yea, become mighty in power?
Gịnị mere ndị ajọ omume ji enwe ndụ ogologo, ghọọ okenye, baakwa ụba nʼịdị ike?
8 Their seed is established with them in their sight, and their offspring before their eyes.
Ha na-ahụ ụmụ ka ha na-akwụsike ike gburugburu ha, ụmụ ha ka ha ji anya ha ahụ.
9 Their houses are safe from fear, neither is the rod of God upon them.
Ha na-ebi ndụ udo nʼezinaụlọ ha na-atụghị egwu na ihe ọjọọ ọbụla ga-adakwasị ha; mkpara Chineke adịghịkwa adakwasị ha.
10 Their bull gendereth, and faileth not; their cow calveth, and casteth not her calf.
Oke ehi ha na-agba nne ehi ha na-esepụghị aka; nne ehi ha na-amụ ụmụ, ha adịghị ekwo ime.
11 They send forth their little ones like a flock, and their children dance.
Ha na-ezipụ ụmụ ha dịka igwe atụrụ; ụmụntakịrị ha na-etegharị egwu.
12 They shout to the tambour and harp, and rejoice at the sound of the pipe.
Ha na-abụ abụ nʼụda egwu otiti na ụbọ akwara; ha na-aṅụrịkwa ọṅụ nʼụda nke ọja.
13 They spend their days in prosperity, and in a moment go down to Sheol. (Sheol )
Ha na-anọ ụbọchị ndụ ha niile nʼọganihu, ha na-arịdakwa nʼili ha nʼudo. (Sheol )
14 And they say unto God, Depart from us, for we desire not the knowledge of thy ways!
Ma ndị a na-asị Chineke, ‘Hapụ anyị aka, ọ dịghị anyị mkpa ịmata ụzọ gị.
15 What is the Almighty that we should serve him? and what are we profited if we pray unto him?
Onye ka Onye pụrụ ime ihe niile bụ, anyị ga-eji jeere ya ozi? Uru gịnị ka ịrịọ ya arịrịọ ga-abara anyị?’
16 Behold, their prosperity is not in their hand. The counsel of the wicked be far from me!
17 How often is the lamp of the wicked put out, and cometh their calamity upon them? Doth he distribute sorrows [to them] in his anger?
“Ma ugboro ole ka a na-emenyụ ọkụ oriọna nke ndị na-emebi iwu? Ugboro ole ka nhụju anya na-adakwasị ha, bụ nke Chineke kenyere ha nʼiwe ya?
18 Do they become as stubble before the wind, and as chaff that the storm carrieth away?
Ugboro ole ka ha dịka ahịhịa kpọrọ nkụ nʼihu ikuku, maọbụ dịka igbugbo ọka nke ikuku siri ike na-efesasị?
19 God layeth up [the punishment of] his iniquity for his children; he rewardeth him, and he shall know [it]:
A na-asị, ‘Chineke na-akpakọtara ụmụ ha ntaramahụhụ nke njehie ha.’ Ka a kwụghachi ha ya, ka ha nwee ike mata ya.
20 His eyes shall see his destruction, and he shall drink of the fury of the Almighty.
21 For what pleasure should he have in his house after him, when the number of his months is cut off?
22 Can any teach God knowledge? And he it is that judgeth those that are high.
“Ọ dị onye pụrụ izi Chineke ihe ọmụma, ebe ọ bụ ya na-ekpe ndị kachasị elu ikpe?
23 One dieth in his full strength, being wholly at ease and quiet;
Otu onye na-anwụ mgbe o jupụtara nʼike na ume, mgbe ọ nọ na nchekwa na udo,
24 His sides are full of fat, and the marrow of his bones is moistened;
mgbe ahụ ya bụ nke eji ezi nri zụọ nke ọma, ọkpụkpụ ya jupụtakwara nʼụmị.
25 And another dieth in bitterness of soul, and hath not tasted good:
Onye ọzọ na-anwụ nʼihe ilu nke mkpụrụobi, nʼihi na o nweghị mgbe o riri ezi ihe ọbụla.
26 Together they lie down in the dust, and the worms cover them.
27 Lo, I know your thoughts, and the devices ye wrongfully imagine against me.
“Amaara m nke ọma ihe bụ echiche unu na nzube unu ji emegide m.
28 For ye say, Where is the house of the noble? and where the tent of the dwellings of the wicked?
Unu ga-ajụ m ajụjụ sị, ‘Ugbu a, ole ụlọ oke mmadụ ahụ. Ụlọ ikwu ndị ahụ ebe ndị na-emebi iwu biiri?’
29 Have ye not asked the wayfarers? and do ye not regard their tokens:
Ọ bụ na unu ajụbeghị ndị njem ajụjụ? Ọ bụ na unu ejighị ihe ha kọrọ mere ihe,
30 That the wicked is reserved for the day of calamity? They are led forth to the day of wrath.
na a na-echebe ndị ọjọọ pụọ nʼụbọchị nhụju anya, na a na-anapụta ha site nʼụbọchị oke iwe?
31 Who shall declare his way to his face? and who shall repay him what he hath done?
Onye na-atụ ha mmehie ha nʼihu? Onye kwa na-akwụghachi ha ụgwọ ihe ha mere?
32 Yet is he carried to the graves, and watch is kept over the tomb.
A na-eburu ha gaa nʼili, a na-echekwa ili ha nche.
33 The clods of the valley are sweet unto him; and every man followeth suit after him, as there were innumerable before him.
34 How then comfort ye me in vain? Your answers remain perfidious.
“Ya mere, olee otu unu ga-esi were okwu na-enweghị isi kasịe m obi? Ọ dịghị ihe fọdụrụ nʼọsịịsa unu ma ọ bụghị naanị okwu ụgha.”
