Isaiah 64
1 Oh, that thou wouldest rend the heavens, that thou wouldest come down, — that the mountains might flow down at thy presence,
യഹോവേ, അവിടന്ന് ആകാശം കീറി ഇറങ്ങിവന്നിരുന്നെങ്കിൽ, അപ്പോൾ പർവതങ്ങൾ അങ്ങയുടെമുമ്പിൽ വിറയ്ക്കും! ചുള്ളിക്കമ്പുകൾക്കു തീ കത്തി വെള്ളം തിളയ്ക്കാൻ ഇടയാകുമ്പോളെന്നപോലെ ഇറങ്ങിവന്ന് അവിടത്തെ ശത്രുക്കൾക്ക് തിരുനാമം വെളിപ്പെടുത്തി രാഷ്ട്രങ്ങൾ തിരുമുമ്പിൽ വിറയ്ക്കാൻ ഇടയാക്കണമേ.
2 — as fire kindleth brushwood, as the fire causeth water to boil, to make thy name known to thine adversaries, that the nations might tremble at thy presence!
3 When thou didst terrible things [which] we looked not for, thou camest down, and the mountains flowed down at thy presence.
ഞങ്ങൾ പ്രതീക്ഷിക്കാത്ത ഭയങ്കരകാര്യങ്ങൾ അങ്ങ് ചെയ്തപ്പോൾ അങ്ങ് ഇറങ്ങിവരികയും പർവതങ്ങൾ തിരുസന്നിധിയിൽ വിറകൊള്ളുകയും ചെയ്തു.
4 Never have [men] heard, nor perceived by the ear, nor hath eye seen a God beside thee, who acteth for him that waiteth for him.
തനിക്കായി കാത്തിരിക്കുന്നവർക്കുവേണ്ടി പ്രവർത്തിക്കുന്നവനായി അങ്ങല്ലാതെ മറ്റൊരു ദൈവത്തെപ്പറ്റി ലോകാരംഭംമുതൽ ആരും കേട്ടിട്ടില്ല; ഒരു കാതും കേട്ടിട്ടില്ല, ഒരു കണ്ണും കണ്ടിട്ടുമില്ല.
5 Thou meetest him that rejoiceth to do righteousness, those that remember thee in thy ways: (behold, thou wast wroth, and we have sinned: ) in those is perpetuity, and we shall be saved.
ആനന്ദത്തോടെ നീതി പ്രവർത്തിക്കുന്നവരെ സഹായിക്കാനായി അങ്ങ് എഴുന്നള്ളുന്നു, അങ്ങയുടെ വഴികൾ ഓർക്കുന്നവരെത്തന്നെ. എന്നാൽ, അങ്ങയുടെ വഴികൾക്കെതിരേ ഞങ്ങൾ പാപം ചെയ്യുകയാൽ അങ്ങു കോപിച്ചു. അങ്ങനെയെങ്കിൽ ഞങ്ങൾ എങ്ങനെ രക്ഷപ്പെടും?
6 And we are all become as an unclean [thing], and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags; and we all fade as a leaf, and our iniquities, like the wind, have carried us away;
ഞങ്ങൾ എല്ലാവരും ശുദ്ധിയില്ലാത്തവരെപ്പോലെയായി, ഞങ്ങളുടെ നീതിപ്രവൃത്തികൾ എല്ലാം കറപുരണ്ട തുണിപോലെയാണ്; ഞങ്ങളെല്ലാം ഇലപോലെ വാടിപ്പോകുന്നു, ഞങ്ങളുടെ പാപങ്ങൾ ഒരു കാറ്റുപോലെ ഞങ്ങളെ പറപ്പിക്കുന്നു.
7 and there is none that calleth upon thy name, that stirreth up himself to take hold of thee; for thou hast hidden thy face from us, and hast caused us to melt away through our iniquities.
അങ്ങയുടെ നാമം വിളിച്ചപേക്ഷിക്കുകയും അങ്ങയെ മുറുകെപ്പിടിക്കാൻ ഉത്സാഹിക്കുകയും ചെയ്യുന്ന ആരുമില്ല; അങ്ങു തിരുമുഖം ഞങ്ങളിൽനിന്ന് മറയ്ക്കുകയും ഞങ്ങളുടെ അകൃത്യങ്ങൾക്കു ഞങ്ങളെ ഏൽപ്പിച്ചുകൊടുക്കുകയും ചെയ്തല്ലോ.
8 And now, Jehovah, thou art our Father; we are the clay, and thou our potter; and we all are the work of thy hand.
എന്നാലിപ്പോൾ യഹോവേ, അങ്ങാണ് ഞങ്ങളുടെ പിതാവ്. ഞങ്ങൾ കളിമണ്ണും അങ്ങ് ഞങ്ങളെ മെനയുന്നവനും ആകുന്നു; ഞങ്ങളെല്ലാവരും അവിടത്തെ കൈവേലയാണല്ലോ.
9 Be not wroth very sore, O Jehovah, neither remember iniquity for ever. Behold, see, we beseech thee, we are all thy people.
യഹോവേ, കഠിനമായി കോപിക്കരുതേ. ഞങ്ങളുടെ പാപങ്ങൾ എന്നേക്കും ഓർക്കുകയുമരുതേ. അയ്യോ! കടാക്ഷിക്കണമേ, ഞങ്ങളെല്ലാവരും അവിടത്തെ ജനമാണല്ലോ.
10 Thy holy cities are become a wilderness, Zion is a wilderness, Jerusalem a desolation.
അങ്ങയുടെ വിശുദ്ധനഗരങ്ങൾ മരുഭൂമിയായിത്തീർന്നു; സീയോൻ മരുഭൂമിയും ജെറുശലേം ശൂന്യസ്ഥലവുമായി.
11 Our holy and our beautiful house, where our fathers praised thee, is burnt up with fire, and all our precious things are laid waste.
ഞങ്ങളുടെ പിതാക്കന്മാർ അങ്ങയെ സ്തുതിച്ചിരുന്ന ഞങ്ങളുടെ വിശുദ്ധവും മനോഹരവുമായ ആലയം അഗ്നിക്കിരയായി, വിലപിടിപ്പുള്ള എല്ലാ വസ്തുക്കളും തകർക്കപ്പെട്ടിരിക്കുന്നു.
12 Wilt thou restrain thyself in presence of these things, Jehovah? Wilt thou hold thy peace, and afflict us very sore?
ഇത്രയൊക്കെയായിട്ടും യഹോവേ, അങ്ങ് അടങ്ങിയിരിക്കുമോ? അങ്ങ് മിണ്ടാതിരിക്കുമോ? അളവിനപ്പുറം ഞങ്ങളെ ശിക്ഷിക്കുമോ?
