Genesis 25
1 And Abraham took another wife named Keturah.
അബ്രാഹാം വേറൊരു ഭാര്യയെ പരിഗ്രഹിച്ചു; അവൾക്കു കെതൂറാ എന്നു പേർ.
2 And she bore him Zimran, and Jokshan, and Medan, and Midian, and Ishbak, and Shuah.
അവൾ സിമ്രാൻ, യൊക്ശാൻ, മെദാൻ, മിദ്യാൻ, യിശ്ബാക്, ശൂവഹ് എന്നിവരെ പ്രസവിച്ചു.
3 And Jokshan begot Sheba and Dedan; and the sons of Dedan were the Asshurim, and the Letushim, and the Leummim.
യൊക്ശാൻ ശെബയെയും ദെദാനെയും ജനിപ്പിച്ചു; ദെദാന്റെ പുത്രന്മാർ അശ്ശൂരീം, ലെത്തൂശീം, ലെയുമ്മീം എന്നിവർ.
4 And the sons of Midian were Ephah, and Epher, and Enoch, and Abida, and Eldaah. All these were sons of Keturah.
മിദ്യാന്റെ പുത്രന്മാർ ഏഫാ, ഏഫെർ, ഹനോക്, അബീദാ, എൽദാഗാ എന്നിവർ. ഇവർ എല്ലാവരും കെതൂറയുടെ മക്കൾ.
5 And Abraham gave all that he had to Isaac.
എന്നാൽ അബ്രാഹാം തനിക്കുള്ളതൊക്കെയും യിസ്ഹാക്കിന്നു കൊടുത്തു.
6 And to the sons of the concubines that Abraham had, Abraham gave gifts, and, while he yet lived, sent them away from Isaac his son, eastward to the east country.
അബ്രാഹാമിന്നു ഉണ്ടായിരുന്ന വെപ്പാട്ടികളുടെ മക്കൾക്കോ അബ്രാഹാം ദാനങ്ങൾ കൊടുത്തു; താൻ ജീവനോടിരിക്കുമ്പോൾ തന്നേ അവരെ തന്റെ മകനായ യിസ്ഹാക്കിന്റെ അടുക്കൽനിന്നു കിഴക്കോട്ടു കിഴക്കുദേശത്തേക്കു അയച്ചു.
7 And these are the days of the years of Abraham's life which he lived: a hundred and seventy-five years.
അബ്രാഹാമിന്റെ ആയുഷ്കാലം നൂറ്റെഴുപത്തഞ്ചു സംവത്സരം ആയിരുന്നു.
8 And Abraham expired and died in a good old age, old and full [of days]; and was gathered to his peoples.
അബ്രാഹാം വയോധികനും കാലസമ്പൂർണ്ണനുമായി നല്ല വാർദ്ധക്യത്തിൽ പ്രാണനെ വിട്ടു മരിച്ചു, തന്റെ ജനത്തോടു ചേർന്നു.
9 And his sons Isaac and Ishmael buried him in the cave of Machpelah, in the field of Ephron the son of Zohar the Hittite, which was opposite to Mamre —
അവന്റെ പുത്രന്മാരായ യിസ്ഹാക്കും യിശ്മായേലും കൂടി മമ്രേക്കരികെ സോഹരിന്റെ മകനായ എഫ്രോനെന്ന ഹിത്യന്റെ നിലത്തു മക്പേലാഗുഹയിൽ അവനെ അടക്കം ചെയ്തു.
10 the field that Abraham had purchased of the sons of Heth: there was Abraham buried, and Sarah his wife.
അബ്രാഹാം ഹിത്യരോടു വിലെക്കു വാങ്ങിയ നിലത്തു തന്നേ; അവിടെ അബ്രാഹാമിനെയും അവന്റെ ഭാര്യയായ സാറയെയും അടക്കം ചെയ്തു.
11 And it came to pass after the death of Abraham, that God blessed his son Isaac. And Isaac dwelt at Beer-lahai-roi.
അബ്രാഹാം മരിച്ചശേഷം ദൈവം അവന്റെ മകനായ യിസ്ഹാക്കിനെ അനുഗ്രഹിച്ചു; യിസ്ഹാക്ക് ബേർലഹയിരോയീക്കരികെ പാർത്തു.
12 And these are the generations of Ishmael, Abraham's son, whom Hagar the Egyptian, Sarah's bondwoman, bore to Abraham.
സാറയുടെ മിസ്രയീമ്യദാസി ഹാഗാർ അബ്രാഹാമിന്നു പ്രസവിച്ച മകനായ യിശ്മായേലിന്റെ വംശപാരമ്പര്യം:
13 And these are the names of the sons of Ishmael by their names according to their generations: Nebaioth, the firstborn of Ishmael; and Kedar, and Adbeel, and Mibsam,
അവരുടെ വംശാവലിപ്രകാരം പേരുപേരായി യിശ്മായേലിന്റെ പുത്രന്മാരുടെ പേരുകൾ ആവിതു: യിശ്മായേലിന്റെ ആദ്യജാതൻ നെബായോത്ത്,
14 and Mishma, and Dumah, and Massa,
കേദാർ, അദ്ബെയേൽ, മിബ്ശാം, മിശ്മാ, ദൂമാ,
15 Hadad and Tema, Jetur, Naphish and Kedmah.
മശ്ശാ, ഹദാദ്, തേമാ, യെതൂർ, നാഫീശ്, കേദെമാ.
16 These are the sons of Ishmael, and these are their names, in their hamlets and their encampments — twelve princes of their peoples.
പന്ത്രണ്ടു പ്രഭുക്കന്മാരായ യിശ്മായേലിന്റെ പുത്രന്മാർ അവരുടെ ഊരുകളിലും പാളയങ്ങളിലും വംശംവംശമായി ഇവർ ആകുന്നു; അവരുടെ പേരുകൾ ഇവ തന്നേ.
17 And these are the years of the life of Ishmael: a hundred and thirty-seven years; and he expired and died, and was gathered to his peoples.
യിശ്മായേലിന്റെ ആയുഷ്കാലം നൂറ്റി മുപ്പത്തേഴു സംവത്സരം ആയിരുന്നു; അവൻ പ്രാണനെ വിട്ടു മരിച്ചു, തന്റെ ജനത്തോടു ചേർന്നു.
18 And they dwelt from Havilah to Shur, which is opposite to Egypt, as one goes towards Assyria. He settled before the face of all his brethren.
ഹവീലാ തുടങ്ങി അശ്ശൂരിലേക്കു പോകുന്ന വഴിയിൽ മിസ്രയീമിന്നു കിഴക്കുള്ള ശൂർവരെ അവർ കുടിയിരുന്നു; അവൻ തന്റെ സകലസഹോദരന്മാർക്കും എതിരെ പാർത്തു.
19 And these are the generations of Isaac, Abraham's son. Abraham begot Isaac.
അബ്രാഹാമിന്റെ മകനായ യിസ്ഹാക്കിന്റെ വംശപാരമ്പര്യമാവിതു: അബ്രാഹാം യിസ്ഹാക്കിനെ ജനിപ്പിച്ചു.
20 And Isaac was forty years old when he took Rebecca as wife, the daughter of Bethuel the Syrian of Padan-Aram, the sister of Laban the Syrian.
യിസ്ഹാക്കിന്നു നാല്പതു വയസ്സായപ്പോൾ അവൻ പദ്ദൻ-അരാമിലുള്ള അരാമ്യനായ ബെഥൂവേലിന്റെ പുത്രിയും അരാമ്യനായ ലാബാന്റെ സഹോദരിയുമായ റിബെക്കയെ ഭാര്യയായി പരിഗ്രഹിച്ചു.
21 And Isaac entreated Jehovah for his wife, because she was barren; and Jehovah was entreated of him, and Rebecca his wife conceived.
തന്റെ ഭാര്യ മച്ചിയായിരുന്നതുകൊണ്ടു യിസ്ഹാക്ക് അവൾക്കു വേണ്ടി യഹോവയോടു പ്രാർത്ഥിച്ചു; യഹോവ അവന്റെ പ്രാർത്ഥന കേട്ടു; അവന്റെ ഭാര്യ റിബെക്കാ ഗർഭംധരിച്ചു.
22 And the children struggled together within her; and she said, If [it be] so, why am I thus? And she went to inquire of Jehovah.
അവളുടെ ഉള്ളിൽ ശിശുക്കൾ തമ്മിൽ തിക്കിയപ്പോൾ അവൾ: ഇങ്ങനെയായാൽ ഞാൻ എന്തിന്നു ജീവിക്കുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു യഹോവയോടു ചോദിപ്പാൻ പോയി.
23 And Jehovah said to her, Two nations are in thy womb, And two peoples shall be separated from thy bowels; And one people shall be stronger than the other people, And the elder shall serve the younger.
യഹോവ അവളോടു: രണ്ടുജാതികൾ നിന്റെ ഗർഭത്തിൽ ഉണ്ടു. രണ്ടു വംശങ്ങൾ നിന്റെ ഉദരത്തിൽനിന്നു തന്നേ പിരിയും; ഒരു വംശം മറ്റേ വംശത്തിലും ശക്തിപ്പെടും മൂത്തവൻ ഇളയവനെ സേവിക്കും. എന്നു അരുളിച്ചെയ്തു.
24 And when her days to be delivered were fulfilled, behold, there were twins in her womb.
അവൾക്കു പ്രസവകാലം തികഞ്ഞപ്പോൾ ഇരട്ടപ്പിള്ളകൾ അവളുടെ ഗർഭത്തിൽ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു.
25 And the first came out red — all over like a hairy garment; and they called his name Esau.
ഒന്നാമത്തവൻ ചുവന്നവനായി പുറത്തുവന്നു, മേൽ മുഴുവനും രോമംകൊണ്ടുള്ള വസ്ത്രംപോലെ ഇരുന്നു; അവന്നു ഏശാവ് എന്നു പേരിട്ടു.
26 And after that came his brother out; and his hand took hold of Esau's heel; and his name was called Jacob. And Isaac was sixty years old when they were born.
പിന്നെ അവന്റെ സഹോദരൻ പുറത്തുവന്നു; അവന്റെ കൈ ഏശാവിന്റെ കുതികാൽ പിടിച്ചിരുന്നു; അവന്നു യാക്കോബ് എന്നു പേരിട്ടു. അവൾ അവരെ പ്രസവിച്ചപ്പോൾ യിസ്ഹാക്കിന്നു അറുപതു വയസ്സു ആയിരുന്നു.
27 And the boys grew, and Esau became a man skilled in hunting, a man of the field; and Jacob was a homely man, dwelling in tents.
കുട്ടികൾ വളർന്നു; ഏശാവ് വേട്ടയിൽ സമർത്ഥനും വനസഞ്ചാരിയും യാക്കോബ് സാധുശീലനും കൂടാരവാസിയും ആയിരുന്നു.
28 And Isaac loved Esau, because venison was to his taste; and Rebecca loved Jacob.
ഏശാവിന്റെ വേട്ടയിറച്ചിയിൽ രുചി പിടിച്ചിരുന്നതുകൊണ്ടു യിസ്ഹാക്ക് അവനെ സ്നേഹിച്ചു; റിബെക്കയോ യാക്കോബിനെ സ്നേഹിച്ചു.
29 And Jacob had cooked a dish; and Esau came from the field, and he was faint.
ഒരിക്കൽ യാക്കോബ് ഒരു പായസം വെച്ചു; ഏശാവ് വെളിമ്പ്രദേശത്തുനിന്നു വന്നു; അവൻ നന്നാ ക്ഷീണിച്ചിരുന്നു.
30 And Esau said to Jacob, Feed me, I pray thee, with the red — the red thing there, for I am faint. Therefore was his name called Edom.
ഏശാവ് യാക്കോബിനോടു: ആ ചുവന്ന പായസം കുറെ എനിക്കു തരേണം; ഞാൻ നന്നാ ക്ഷീണിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു. അതുകൊണ്ടു അവന്നു ഏദോം (ചുവന്നവൻ) എന്നു പേരായി.
31 And Jacob said, Sell me now thy birthright.
നിന്റെ ജ്യേഷ്ഠാവകാശം ഇന്നു എനിക്കു വില്ക്കുക എന്നു യാക്കോബ് പറഞ്ഞു.
32 And Esau said, Behold, I am going to die, and of what use can the birthright be to me?
അതിന്നു ഏശാവ്: ഞാൻ മരിക്കേണ്ടിവരുമല്ലോ; ഈ ജ്യേഷ്ഠാവകാശം എനിക്കു എന്തിന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
33 And Jacob said, Swear unto me now. And he swore unto him, and sold his birthright to Jacob.
ഇന്നു എന്നോടു സത്യം ചെയ്ക എന്നു യാക്കോബ് പറഞ്ഞു. അവൻ അവനോടു സത്യം ചെയ്തു; തന്റെ ജ്യേഷ്ഠാവകാശം യാക്കോബിന്നു വിറ്റു.
34 And Jacob gave Esau bread and the dish of lentils; and he ate and drank, and rose up and went away. Thus Esau despised the birthright.
യാക്കോബ് ഏശാവിന്നു അപ്പവും പയറു കൊണ്ടുള്ള പായസവും കൊടുത്തു; അവൻ ഭക്ഷിച്ചു പാനം ചെയ്തു, എഴുന്നേറ്റുപോയി; ഇങ്ങനെ ഏശാവ് ജ്യേഷ്ഠാവകാശത്തെ അലക്ഷ്യമാക്കിക്കളഞ്ഞു
