Deuteronomy 22
1 Thou shalt not see thy brother's ox or his sheep go astray, and hide thyself from them: thou shalt in any case bring them back unto thy brother.
സഹയിസ്രായേല്യന്റെ കാളയോ ആടോ വഴിതെറ്റി അലയുന്നതു നീ കണ്ടാൽ അതു കണ്ടില്ലെന്നു നടിക്കരുത്. അതിനെ അയാളുടെ അടുത്ത് എത്തിച്ചുകൊടുക്കണം.
2 And if thy brother be not near unto thee, and thou know him not, then thou shalt bring it unto thy house, and it shall be with thee until thy brother seek after it, and thou shalt restore it unto him.
സഹയിസ്രായേല്യൻ നിനക്കു സമീപവാസിയല്ല, അയാൾ നിനക്കു പരിചിതനും അല്ലാതെ ഇരിക്കുന്നെങ്കിൽ ആ മനുഷ്യൻ അന്വേഷിച്ചു വരുന്നതുവരെ അതിനെ നിന്റെ വീട്ടിൽ കൊണ്ടുപോയി സൂക്ഷിക്കണം. പിന്നെ അതിനെ അയാൾക്കു തിരികെ നൽകണം.
3 And so shalt thou do with his ass; and so shalt thou do with his clothing; and so shalt thou do with everything that is lost of thy brother, which he loseth, and thou findest: thou mayest not hide thyself.
നിന്റെ സഹോദരങ്ങളുടെ കഴുത, പുറങ്കുപ്പായം, ഇങ്ങനെ അവർക്കു നഷ്ടപ്പെടുന്ന ഏതു വസ്തുവും നീ കണ്ടെത്തിയാൽ ഇങ്ങനെതന്നെ ചെയ്യണം. നീ അതിനെ കണ്ടില്ലെന്നു നടിക്കരുത്.
4 Thou shalt not see thy brother's ass or his ox fall by the way, and hide thyself from them: thou shalt in any case [help] him to lift them up.
നിന്റെ സഹയിസ്രായേല്യന്റെ കാളയോ കഴുതയോ വഴിയിൽ വീണുകിടക്കുന്നതു കണ്ടാൽ ഒഴിഞ്ഞുകളയാതെ അതിനെ എഴുന്നേൽപ്പിക്കാൻ അതിന്റെ ഉടമസ്ഥനെ സഹായിക്കണം.
5 There shall not be a man's apparel on a woman, neither shall a man put on a woman's clothing; for whoever doeth so is an abomination to Jehovah thy God.
സ്ത്രീ പുരുഷന്റെ വസ്ത്രം ധരിക്കരുത്; പുരുഷൻ സ്ത്രീയുടെ വസ്ത്രവും ധരിക്കരുത്. ഇങ്ങനെ ചെയ്യുന്ന ഏതൊരാളെയും നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ വെറുക്കുന്നു.
6 If a bird's nest chance to be before thee in the way, in any tree, or upon the ground, with young or with eggs, and the dam sitting upon the young or upon the eggs, thou shalt not take the dam with the young:
ഒരു മരത്തിലോ നിലത്തിലോ കുഞ്ഞുങ്ങളോ മുട്ടകളോ ഉള്ള പക്ഷിക്കൂട് നിന്റെ വഴിയരികിൽ കണ്ടാൽ തള്ളപ്പക്ഷി കുഞ്ഞുങ്ങളുടെമേലോ മുട്ടയുടെമേലോ ഇരിക്കുന്നെങ്കിൽ കുഞ്ഞുങ്ങളോടുകൂടെ തള്ളപ്പക്ഷിയെ പിടിക്കരുത്.
7 thou shalt in any case let the dam go, and thou mayest take the young to thee, that it may be well with thee, and that thou mayest prolong thy days.
നിനക്കു നന്മയും ദീർഘായുസ്സുമുണ്ടാകാനായി തള്ളപ്പക്ഷിയെ വിടണം. കുഞ്ഞുങ്ങളെ നിനക്കെടുക്കാം.
8 When thou buildest a new house, thou shalt make a parapet for thy roof, that thou bring not blood upon thy house, if any one should in any wise fall from it.
നീ ഒരു പുതിയ വീട് പണിയുമ്പോൾ അതിന്റെ മേൽക്കൂരയ്ക്കു ചുറ്റിലും കൈമതിൽ പണിയണം. ആരെങ്കിലും മേൽക്കൂരയിൽനിന്നു താഴെവീണ് രക്തച്ചൊരിച്ചിലിന്റെ കുറ്റം നിന്റെ വീടിന്മേൽ വരാതിരിക്കേണ്ടതിനാണിത്.
9 Thou shalt not sow thy vineyard with [seed of] two sorts, lest the whole of thy seed which thou hast sown, and the produce of thy vineyard, be forfeited.
നിന്റെ മുന്തിരിത്തോപ്പിൽ രണ്ടുതരം വിത്ത് നടാൻ പാടില്ല. അങ്ങനെചെയ്താൽ നീ നടുന്ന ധാന്യംമാത്രമല്ല, മുന്തിരിത്തോപ്പിലെ ഫലവും മലിനമാകും.
10 Thou shalt not plough with an ox and an ass together.
കാളയെയും കഴുതയെയും ഒന്നിച്ചുപൂട്ടി ഉഴരുത്.
11 Thou shalt not wear a garment of mixed material, [woven] of wool and linen together.
ആട്ടുരോമവും ചണവും ചേർത്തു നെയ്ത വസ്ത്രം ധരിക്കരുത്.
12 Tassels shalt thou make thee on the four corners of thy clothing, wherewith thou coverest thyself.
നീ ധരിക്കുന്ന പുറങ്കുപ്പായത്തിന്റെ നാലുകോണിലും തൊങ്ങലുകൾ ഉണ്ടായിരിക്കണം.
13 If a man take a wife, and go in unto her and hate her,
ഒരു പുരുഷൻ ഒരു സ്ത്രീയെ വിവാഹംചെയ്ത് അവളുമായി ലൈംഗികബന്ധത്തിലേർപ്പെട്ടശേഷം അവളെ ഇഷ്ടപ്പെടാതെ
14 and charge her with things for scandalous talk, and cause an evil name against her to be spread abroad, and say, This woman have I taken, and I came in unto her, and I did not find her a virgin;
അവൾക്കു ദുഷ്പേരുണ്ടാക്കി അപമാനിച്ച്, “ഞാൻ ഈ സ്ത്രീയെ വിവാഹംകഴിച്ചു, പക്ഷേ ഞാൻ ഇവളെ സമീപിച്ചപ്പോൾ ഇവളിൽ കന്യകാലക്ഷണം കണ്ടില്ല” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞാൽ;
15 then shall the father of the damsel, and her mother, take and bring forth the tokens of the damsel's virginity unto the elders of the city in the gate;
ആ പെൺകുട്ടിയുടെ മാതാപിതാക്കൾ നഗരവാതിൽക്കൽ ഇസ്രായേൽ ഗോത്രത്തലവന്മാരുടെ അടുത്തുപോയി അവളുടെ കന്യകാലക്ഷണം കാണിക്കണം.
16 and the damsel's father shall say unto the elders, I gave my daughter unto this man as wife, and he hates her;
പെൺകുട്ടിയുടെ പിതാവ് ഗോത്രത്തലവന്മാരോട് ഇങ്ങനെ പറയണം: “ഞാൻ എന്റെ മകളെ ഈ പുരുഷനു വിവാഹംകഴിപ്പിച്ചുകൊടുത്തു. എന്നാൽ അവൻ അവളെ ഇഷ്ടപ്പെടുന്നില്ല.
17 and behold, he charges her with things for scandalous talk, saying, I found not thy daughter a virgin; and here are the tokens of my daughter's virginity. And they shall spread the cloth before the elders of the city.
ഇപ്പോൾ അവൻ, ‘ഞാൻ നിന്റെ മകളിൽ കന്യകാലക്ഷണം കണ്ടില്ല’ എന്നിങ്ങനെ അപവാദം പറയുന്നു. പക്ഷേ, ഇതാ, എന്റെ മകളുടെ കന്യകാലക്ഷണം.” അതിനുശേഷം അവളുടെ മാതാപിതാക്കൾ പട്ടണത്തലവന്മാരുടെമുമ്പിൽ ആ വസ്ത്രം കാണിക്കണം.
18 And the elders of that city shall take the man and chastise him;
പട്ടണത്തലവന്മാർ ആ പുരുഷനെ പിടിച്ച് ശിക്ഷ നൽകണം.
19 and they shall fine him a hundred shekels of silver, and give them unto the father of the damsel, because he hath caused an evil name to be spread abroad against a virgin in Israel. And she shall remain his wife: he may not put her away all his days.
ഇസ്രായേലിലെ ഒരു കന്യകയ്ക്കു ദുഷ്പേരുണ്ടാക്കിയതുകൊണ്ട് പെൺകുട്ടിയുടെ പിതാവിന് നൂറു ശേക്കേൽ വെള്ളി നൽകാൻ അവർ അവന് പിഴയിടണം. അവൾ അവനു ഭാര്യയായി തുടരണം. അവന്റെ ജീവിതകാലത്തൊരിക്കലും അവളെ വിവാഹമോചനം ചെയ്യാൻ പാടില്ല.
20 But if this thing is true, [and] virginity hath not been found with the damsel;
എന്നാൽ ആരോപണം സത്യമായിരിക്കുകയും പെൺകുട്ടിയുടെ കന്യകാലക്ഷണം ഒന്നും കണ്ടെത്താതിരിക്കുകയും ചെയ്താൽ,
21 then they shall bring out the damsel unto the entrance of her father's house, and the men of her city shall stone her with stones that she die: because she hath wrought infamy in Israel, committing fornication in her father's house; and thou shalt put evil away from thy midst.
അവളെ പിതാവിന്റെ വീട്ടുവാതിൽക്കൽ കൊണ്ടുചെന്ന്, അവളുടെ നഗരത്തിലെ പുരുഷന്മാർ കല്ലെറിഞ്ഞുകൊല്ലണം. അവൾ ഇസ്രായേലിൽ വഷളത്തം പ്രവർത്തിച്ച് പിതാവിന്റെ വീട്ടിൽവെച്ചുതന്നെ വേശ്യാവൃത്തിയിൽ ഏർപ്പെട്ടു. ഇങ്ങനെ നിങ്ങളുടെ ഇടയിൽനിന്ന് തിന്മ നീക്കിക്കളയണം.
22 If a man be found lying with a man's wife, they shall both of them die, the man that lay with the woman, and the woman; and thou shalt put away evil from Israel.
ഒരു പുരുഷൻ മറ്റൊരു പുരുഷന്റെ ഭാര്യയോടുകൂടെ കിടക്കപങ്കിടുന്നതായി കണ്ടാൽ അവളോടുകൂടെ കിടക്കപങ്കിട്ട പുരുഷനും അവളും മരിക്കണം. ഇങ്ങനെ ഇസ്രായേലിൽനിന്ന് നിങ്ങൾ തിന്മ നീക്കിക്കളയണം.
23 If a damsel, a virgin, be betrothed to some one, and a man find her in the city, and lie with her,
വിവാഹനിശ്ചയം കഴിഞ്ഞ ഒരു കന്യകയെ ഒരുവൻ നഗരത്തിൽവെച്ച് യാദൃച്ഛികമായി കണ്ടുമുട്ടുകയും അവൻ അവളോടൊപ്പം കിടക്കപങ്കിടുകയും ചെയ്താൽ നിങ്ങൾ അവരെ രണ്ടുപേരെയും നഗരവാതിൽക്കൽ കൊണ്ടുവന്ന് കല്ലെറിഞ്ഞുകൊല്ലണം.
24 then ye shall bring them both out unto the gate of that city, and stone them with stones that they die; the damsel, because she cried not, [being] in the city, and the man, because he hath humbled his neighbour's wife; and thou shalt put evil away from thy midst.
പെൺകുട്ടി, നഗരത്തിൽ ആയിരുന്നിട്ടുകൂടി സഹായത്തിനു നിലവിളിക്കാതിരിക്കുകയും പുരുഷൻ മറ്റൊരാളുടെ ഭാര്യയെ മാനഭംഗപ്പെടുത്തുകയും ചെയ്തു. ഇങ്ങനെ നിങ്ങളുടെ ഇടയിൽനിന്ന് തിന്മ നീക്കിക്കളയണം.
25 But if a man find a betrothed damsel in the field, and the man force her, and lie with her, then the man only that lay with her shall die;
എന്നാൽ, വിവാഹനിശ്ചയം കഴിഞ്ഞ ഒരു പെൺകുട്ടിയെ ഒരുവൻ നഗരത്തിനു പുറത്തുവെച്ച് യാദൃച്ഛികമായി കണ്ടുമുട്ടുകയും അവളെ ബലാൽക്കാരംചെയ്യുകയും ചെയ്താൽ ആ പുരുഷൻമാത്രം മരണശിക്ഷ അനുഭവിക്കണം.
26 and unto the damsel thou shalt do nothing: there is in the damsel no sin worthy of death; for as when a man riseth against his neighbour, and murdereth him, so is this matter;
മരണശിക്ഷയ്ക്കു തക്ക പാപമൊന്നും ചെയ്തിട്ടില്ലാത്തതുകൊണ്ട് പെൺകുട്ടിയോട് ഒന്നും ചെയ്യരുത്. ഒരാൾ ഒരു അയൽവാസിയോടു കോപിച്ച് അയാളെ കൊല്ലുന്നതിനു തുല്യമായ പ്രവൃത്തിയാണിത്.
27 for he found her in the field, the betrothed damsel cried, and there was no one to save her.
നഗരത്തിനു പുറത്തുവെച്ചാണല്ലോ പുരുഷൻ പെൺകുട്ടിയെ കണ്ടുമുട്ടിയത്. വിവാഹനിശ്ചയം കഴിഞ്ഞ ആ പെൺകുട്ടി രക്ഷയ്ക്കായി നിലവിളിച്ചാൽപോലും അവളെ രക്ഷിക്കാൻ അവിടെ ആരും ഉണ്ടായിരിക്കുകയില്ല.
28 If a man find a damsel, a virgin, who is not betrothed, and lay hold on her, and lie with her, and they be found,
എന്നാൽ വിവാഹനിശ്ചയം ചെയ്തിട്ടില്ലാത്ത ഒരു കന്യകയെ ഒരുവൻ യാദൃച്ഛികമായി കണ്ടുമുട്ടുകയും അവൻ അവളെ ബലാൽക്കാരംചെയ്യുകയും അതു കണ്ടുപിടിക്കുകയും ചെയ്താൽ
29 then the man that lay with her shall give unto the damsel's father fifty [shekels] of silver, and she shall be his wife, because he hath humbled her; he may not put her away all his days.
ബലാൽക്കാരംചെയ്ത പുരുഷൻ പെൺകുട്ടിയുടെ പിതാവിന് അൻപതുശേക്കേൽ വെള്ളി നൽകണം. അവൻ അവൾക്കു മാനഹാനി വരുത്തിയതുകൊണ്ട് അവളെ വിവാഹംകഴിക്കണം. അവന്റെ ജീവിതകാലത്തൊരിക്കലും അവളുമായുള്ള വിവാഹബന്ധം വേർപെടുത്താൻ പാടില്ല.
30 A man shall not take his father's wife, nor uncover his father's skirt.
ഒരുവൻ തന്റെ പിതാവിന്റെ ഭാര്യയെ വിവാഹംചെയ്യരുത്; അയാൾ തന്റെ പിതാവിന്റെ കിടക്കയോട് അനാദരവുകാട്ടരുത്.
