1 Chronicles 23
1 And David was old and full of days; and he made Solomon his son king over Israel.
Siendo pues David ya viejo, y harto de días, hizo a Salomón su hijo rey sobre Israel.
2 And he gathered together all the princes of Israel, with the priests and the Levites.
Y juntando a todos los principales de Israel, y a los sacerdotes y Levitas,
3 And the Levites were numbered from thirty years old and upward; and their number, by their polls, man by man, was thirty-eight thousand.
Fueron contados los Levitas de treinta años y arriba; y fue el número de ellos por sus cabezas, contados uno a uno, treinta y ocho mil.
4 Of these, twenty-four thousand were to preside over the work of the house of Jehovah; and six thousand were officers and judges;
De estos los veinte y cuatro mil, para dar priesa a la obra de la casa de Jehová; y gobernadores y jueces seis mil:
5 and four thousand were doorkeepers; and four thousand praised Jehovah with the instruments which I made, [said David, ] to praise [therewith].
Ítem, porteros cuatro mil: y cuatro mil para alabar a Jehová con los instrumentos que yo he hecho para alabar.
6 And David divided them into courses according to the sons of Levi: Gershon, Kohath, and Merari.
Y repartiólos David en partes, los hijos de Leví, y de Gersón, y de Caat, y de Merari.
7 Of the Gershonites: Laadan and Shimei.
Los hijos de Gersón fueron Leedán, y Semeí.
8 The sons of Laadan: the head was Jehiel, and Zetham, and Joel, three.
Los hijos de Leedán fueron Jahiel el primero, Zetán, y Joel, tres.
9 The sons of Shimei: Shelomith, and Haziel, and Haran, three. These were the chief fathers of Laadan.
Los hijos de Semeí fueron Salomit, Hoziel, y Arán, ellos tres. Estos fueron los príncipes de las familias de Leedán.
10 And the sons of Shimei: Jahath, Ziza, and Jeush, and Beriah. These were the four sons of Shimei.
Y los hijos de Semeí fueron Jehet, Ziva, Jaus, y Barias. Estos cuatro fueron los hijos de Semeí.
11 And Jahath was the head, and Ziza the second; and Jeush and Beriah had not many sons: as father's house, therefore, they were reckoned as one.
Jehet era el primero, Zina el segundo: mas Jaus y Barias no multiplicaron hijos, por lo cual fueron contados por una familia.
12 The sons of Kohath: Amram, Jizhar, Hebron, and Uzziel, four.
Los hijos de Caat fueron Amram, Isaar, Hebrón, y Oziel, ellos cuatro.
13 The sons of Amram: Aaron and Moses. And Aaron was separated, that he should be hallowed as most holy, he and his sons for ever, to offer before Jehovah, to do service to him, and to bless in his name for ever.
Los hijos de Amram fueron Aarón y Moisés: y Aarón fue apartado para ser santificado, santidad de santidades fue él y sus hijos para siempre, para que quemasen perfumes delante de Jehová, y le ministrasen, y bendijesen en su nombre para siempre.
14 — And as to Moses the man of God, his sons were named of the tribe of Levi.
Y los hijos de Moisés, varón de Dios, fueron llamados en la tribu de Leví.
15 The sons of Moses: Gershom and Eliezer.
Los hijos de Moisés fueron Gersón y Eliezer.
16 The sons of Gershom: Shebuel the head.
Hijo de Gersón fue Subuel, el primero.
17 And the sons of Eliezer: Rehabiah the head; and Eliezer had no other sons, but the sons of Rehabiah were very many.
E hijo de Eliezer fue Rohobia, el primero: y Eliezer no tuvo otros hijos. Mas los hijos de Rohobia fueron muchos.
18 — The sons of Jizhar: Shelomith the head.
Hijo de Isaar fue Salomit, el primero.
19 The sons of Hebron: Jeriah the head, Amariah the second, Jahaziel the third, and Jekameam the fourth.
Los hijos de Hebrón fueron; Jeriau el primero, Amarías el segundo, Jahaziel el tercero, Jecmaán el cuatro.
20 The sons of Uzziel: Micah the head, and Jishijah the second.
Los hijos de Oziel fueron; Mica el primero, Jesía el segundo.
21 The sons of Merari: Mahli and Mushi. The sons of Mahli: Eleazar and Kish.
Los hijos de Merari fueron; Moholi y Musi. Los hijos de Moholi; Eleazar, y Cis.
22 And Eleazar died, and had no sons, but daughters; and their brethren the sons of Kish took them.
Y murió Eleazar sin hijos, mas tuvo hijas. Y los hijos de Cis sus hermanos las tomaron por mujeres.
23 The sons of Mushi: Mahli, and Eder, and Jeremoth, three.
Los hijos de Musi fueron; Moholi, Eder, y Jerimot, ellos tres.
24 These were the sons of Levi according to their fathers' houses, the chief fathers, as they were reckoned, by number of names by their polls, who did the work of the service of the house of Jehovah, from twenty years old and upward.
Estos son los hijos de Leví en las familias de sus padres, cabeceras de familias en sus cuentas, contados por sus nombres, por sus cabezas, los cuales hacían obra en el ministerio de la casa de Jehová, de veinte años y arriba.
25 For David said, Jehovah the God of Israel has given rest to his people, and he will dwell in Jerusalem for ever;
Porque David dijo: Jehová Dios de Israel ha dado reposo a su pueblo Israel, y habitó en Jerusalem para siempre:
26 and the Levites also have no more to carry the tabernacle, nor any of its vessels for its service.
Y también los Levitas no llevarán el tabernáculo, y todos sus vasos para su ministerio.
27 For by the last words of David was this [done], — the numbering of the sons of Levi from twenty years old and upward.
Así que conforme a las postreras palabras de David, fue la cuenta de los hijos de Leví de veinte años y arriba:
28 For their place was by the side of the sons of Aaron for the service of the house of Jehovah, over the courts, and over the chambers, and over the purifying of all holy things, and [for] the work of the service of the house of God;
Y estaban debajo de la mano de los hijos de Aarón para ministrar en la casa de Jehová, en los patios, y en las cámaras, y en la purificación de toda cosa santificada, y en la obra del ministerio de la casa de Dios.
29 and for the loaves to be set in rows, and for the fine flour for the oblation, and for the unleavened cakes, and for [what is baked in] the pan, and for that which is saturated [with oil], and for all measure of capacity and size;
Asimismo para los panes de la proposición, para la flor de la harina, para el sacrificio, para las hojuelas sin levadura, para la fruta de sartén, y para lo tostado, y para toda medida y cuenta;
30 and to stand every morning to thank and praise Jehovah, and likewise at even;
Y para que asistiesen cada mañana, todos los días, a glorificar y alabar a Jehová, y asimismo a la tarde;
31 and for all burnt-offerings offered up to Jehovah on the sabbaths, on the new moons, and on the set feasts, by number, according to the ordinance concerning them, continually, before Jehovah;
Y para ofrecer todos los holocaustos a Jehová los sábados, nuevas lunas, y solemnidades, por la cuenta y forma que tenían, continuamente delante de Jehová;
32 and they kept the charge of the tent of meeting, and the charge of the sanctuary, and the charge of the sons of Aaron their brethren, in the service of the house of Jehovah.
Y para que tuviesen la guarda del tabernáculo del testimonio, y la guarda del santuario, y la guarda de los hijos de Aarón sus hermanos, en el ministerio de la casa de Jehová.
